On my way to 63kgs

Alright Eycky!!!!! Friggin' awesome!!!!!

You are making us stragglers look bad! (Ok...so I'm the only straggler here lately....but look out. You keep it up and I'll Nancy Kerrigan ya! <j/k!>)

Really proud of ya Eycky!!!! Hope you know that!

I hadn't managed to run more than 4 kms recently and was getting really frustrated. I didn't realize what a difference the air conditioning makes.
Yesterday I had the best compliment ever. I was looking after my friends 2 little girls. We often sing a song called Jelly on the Plate and when we get to the line Wibble Wobble Wibble Wobble we wobble my tummy fat. Yesterday we sang it and the 3 year old started to wobble my stomach then she looked up at me with a disgusted look and said - 'It's not working properly' and refused to sing anymore. :D

Now that is awesome cuz you know at that age kids are blunt honest. Love the pic of you in your dress by the way, you look beautiful. I stopped by the other day and posted to you but it must not have gone through cuz its not here now. Don't even remember what I said but here I am to say HOWDY! :D

Eycky!!!

:party:Not that anybody noticed....but you just hit 1000 posts!!!!

:grouphug:You are an angel around here!!! Good work!:grouphug:

WooHOOOOOO!!

7km - way to go!!! You just don't stop do you>!>!>? Hehehe. Real achievement Val - fantastic going and I can well believe that you aren't wobbling like you should do!!!

Thanks for all the nice comments. :D

LOL over 1000.
Seriously though thank you all for being my on line friends. Because of my dad's various illnesses I spend a lot of time at home and usually don't get out for more than a couple of hours a day. My dad can't make conversation for more than a minute of two and I'm a natural chatterbox so these forums are a real lifeline to me on days when I don't see many people. :)
Got the Elton John/ Andrea Bocelli concert coming up on Saturday. I'm so excited. :D
Not being too good with the eating as we have got visitors but not being too bad either.

You're gonna love it! And that's not even mentioning Andrea's portion!
Lucky dawg you! Can't wait to hear what you think of it!

And your friendship is equally treasured Eycky...it goes both ways.
I don't think I would have found the recipe to lose 25 lbs without ya, (or the rest of the gang here.)

So before I get all sentimental  and mushy...:puke:

Have a great day!!! TTYL

You're AWESOME! So pleased for you! You must be so proud of yourself :D Truly inspiring Ecky, you slim thing you!!

I'd already lost a lot of the weight by the time I found these forums but I would never have got so fit without them and I definitely wouldn't be running.:D

Thanks for the record smashing rep. :D:D

I just went to the gym and wanted to do some resistance training but hadn't got much time so thought to myself 'I'll just run 5km today' Then thought WTF how the hell did the word 'just' and '5km' used in the same sentence get into my vocabulary. :D

I'm in the same vote except mine is leaning closer to bad.
Great work on the new record - I'm sure they will keep on coming! That is what's so great about running - you can always set new goals for yourself! Keep it up your doing great!

Sounds like you're an avid runner!! Good job! Hope you enjoy the upcoming concert! =)

The eating is gradually getting worse. I ate a huge plate of paella last night and today my daughter has to study to retake an exam so she will be at home all day to watch my dad so I can escape. I am going to lunch with my guests and going to a kids party tonight which the same party last year put on loads of lovely food for the adults. On Saturday I am going to the concert and then after we are going to have an indian meal. So not good. But I did say that I wasn't bothered too much until September is over and then in October I will really get back to watching my calories.

LOL! Scary isn't it?
I still can't believe it. If somebody had said to me in January that they would bet me a 1000 pounds that I couldn't run 7 kms by the end of august there is now way that I would have taken the bet as it seemed so impossible.

Well...I'll bet that you'll be running 10k by November!!!! heheh

Once the run-bug has bitten you...there's no stopping!

I think we go up and down in rhythms when it comes to eating...almost like testing the body to see if we're going to suddenly collapse in a mass of putting on extra pounds. I know I sort of did on holiday - I ate chips and ice cream - not masses but enough to feel like I wasn't depriving myself, and then tried to do a bit of extra walking or swimming and it was a good feeling when I worked out that I wasn't comign back like a stone heavier...that this was a long term thing...I would have to GO MAD foodwise long term to put on lbs and lbs and lbs...it was like another piece of the puzzle coming together and I understood another bit - I did this to myself over many years so as long as I keep sensible, I'm not going back there.

So I guess what I'm saying is, if you eat enough to make you feel like you aren't depriving yourself and you still run/exercise, you'll probably end up maintaining and then when you want to ramp it up again and lose a bit more, you know what you have to do.

I really hope so. I've inquired about the running track that I noticed opposite the gym. It is council owned but I can't use it on my gym card but the good news is that it is as cheap as the gym - 30 euros for 6 months use. I'm a little bit frightened of running too far out on normal ground incase I injure myself so a track would be a good compromise as I would still be out in the fresh air. It's 2 euros a day to use it without paying for a subscription so I think that I will give it a try first.
You're absolutely right about what you said about eating. Yesterday was another 'bad' day but I didn't use it as an excuse for a binge fest and today I will go extra careful instead of carrying on eating badly. It's great when you realize that you have finally got this under control and that eating badly one day is just a blip not the norm. I feel so in control as yesterday wasn't me getting out of control but a conscious desicion to treat myself. I have almost never in the last few months eaten something and then really regretted it or felt dissapointed in myself. I know that I'll get to goal weight this winter and I'm not even in a hurry or stressing. It's a great feeling. :D:D:D

Hey Eycky!

Yes it is a great feeling to be in control!! Confidence! Believing in yourself!
I think thats the ticket. Thats what's going to make this weight loss stick!

Well done!
