On my way to 63kgs

Just beaten my record again :D. I just ran 5.5km at 8km per hour. :D

WOW! You rock! Makes me feel guilty for not trying to progress any lately. I know I will have to kick it up at some point. It's just that the half mile walk, 2 mile run, half mile walk routine that I've been doing lately fits so nicely into my schedule right now time wise. I do it slower on 2 days of the week, but on the other cardio day I turn up the speed on my treadmill and make myself really push it. But I still go the same distance. It would be nice to have time to do more, but there are so many other things that need to get done around my house with 4 little girls running around that it feels like I'm lucky to get what time that I do have for exercise.

Well Eycky.......I just made it thru 9 days of your journal.....

Our pool is even smaller than yours. It's about 4ft deep by 10ft across. My husband has already had naughty ideas like yourself!!!!! It would just be my luck for a cat to walk past the sensor light and light us up for eveybody to see :) We also have a nosey neighbour who is nearly 80 and doesn't miss a thing that goes on in our house day or night.
Have a great holiday. :D

It must be a guy thing! lolol Kudos to your hubby! lol
Hope you are enjoying your pool in the hot weather you have been experiencing there.
<and note to self....unscrew motionsensor light bulb before entering pool or you will be in for a shocker>

Well next week will be quite a challenge. I have 3 house guests for 10 days and will have to face, drinking alcohol, going out for meals and generally a lot more food being prepared in the house.
As long as I don't put on weight I don't mind and I intend to go to the gym as often as usual. My cousin has just run a marathon so he will understand my need to exercise and maybe even join me. Also the pool should be done by then so we can all chat in the pool and I can exercise at the same time.
Hope you all have a great weekend :)

Hope your days of house guests is going great! Sounds like a good time to be had!

Well today I went shopping with my daughter for more gym clothes as I'm fed up with having to wash them and get them dry quickly to use again. I bought myself some shorts for the first time in probably 30 years and they didn't look bad. :)

I may have mentioned it in the past...My wife got me some 'UnderArmour' shirts to work out in and if you can find it there, (or a similar moisture wicking type of clothing) try it. It is sooooo cool especially for running.

So much to comment on here....oh well here goes!!!

The pool sounds lovely Val - and like you are gonna have some fun ;) Just don't do what Flumes seems to get a kick out off....giving the neighbours somethign to watch ;)

Hahaha Jjjay. I'm not voyeuristic lol. Daring yes! But I was just as 'in bare assed' as my wife was at that moment! lol

Now this is where it gets crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just ran 4 kms :D. I warmed up for a few minutes and then re-set the machine and ran 4 kms in 30 mins.

I DID IT!!!!!!!!

I have just ran a 5k in 37 minutes.

Just beaten my record again :D. I just ran 5.5km at 8km per hour. :D

WTF!!!! I am at a loss of words....AMAZING?!??!? FANTASTIC??!??!!? UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!

I caught a glimpse of the 4 km run a few days ago and thought that was the best thing in the world...I mean it really made me smile in front of the computer to read that achievement. Well, I just reread that post, and then found the 5km post, and then the 5.5 km post and am literally in awe.
I cannot describe how good it makes me feel to see smash your distance record again and again!

Congratulations!! And thanks!....You are sooo inspiring.

I've run outside quite a few times already, but your comment just made me realize that I never really look around. I'm staring at the road right in front of me about 5 feet out from my next step the whole time. Next time I run outside (after it cools off - it's supposed to be near 100 degrees here for the next week or so) I'll have to make a concious effort to look around me.

I have to admit, I'm the same...I cannot concentrate on anything when I run except the next few feet in front of me, and the next marker i set my site on on the road where I hope to reach without walking. I also d/l a c25k webcast program to help in pacing myself but have yet to put it on my ipod. I have to relax a bit when I run I think.

So now I am all caught up with your thread! Great to see you doing sooo well Eycky! I am soooooooo proud of you I could squeeze ya!
Looking forward to your next achievement and hope to hear all is going well your way!
Take care!!!

flumsey - Thanks for taking the time to go through all the pages that you missed out on. Must have taken you hours to go through everyones' threads. Thanks for the squeeze although I'm not as squeezy as I used to be.:) My husband pinched my bum as I walked past him the other day and said it was so small and firm there's nothing to get hold of. :D
I love running but like you if I run outdoors I don't enjoy the countryside much as I am too scared of tripping over or twisting my ankle that I don't take my eyes off the floor but I love the feeling of the wind in my face. I mentioned somewhere that I have just found an outdoor track that I can use so that is the best of both worlds. I can be outdoors but without the risks. I'm getting a bit nervous about running as I keep reading about how bad it is for your joints but I'm not nervous enough to stop as I think the health benefits far outweigh the risks at the moment.

My wife pinched mine a while back and said "What happened to your butt??
I said I got a new one...the old one had a crack in it!

Have a great day!

I really did LOL at that :D
My guests leave tomorrow. Lovely to have them here but also great to see them go and have our house back to ourselves for a couple of weeks until the next guests arrive :)
Have a great day too.

Has anybody ever experienced gym rage? I get it everytime I go to the gym and all the treadmills are being used!!! Nobody would guess but i have a temper tantrum inside me and want to push people off :) For a totally non violent non confrontational person it's quite amusing to experience.
Well on a better note. I'm on fire!!!!!!! 6 km in 45 minutes.
I love running!!!!!!!!!

Goodness, you have a lot of guests regularly, it seems. :)

You know, my Dad is 55 and he runs about 6 to 8 miles a week (and hikes another 15 or so miles a week) and he's never experienced joint problems in the 5+ years he's been doing it (of course, he is a sickeningly healthy 160 lbs-- I am just a little jealous of this and also sore at him for not passing it down to me :p). Sometimes he does track running, sometimes he runs in the street, and occasionally he runs a path through a wooded area. When he thinks he may have injured himself, he takes a break, sometimes for weeks, until he believes it is better. It works for him.

Haha, your gym rage is so cute! :D You're such a nice person that to imagine you becoming inwardly enraged out of LOVE for something is actually a bit on the adorable side. :D Super job on the run, too! :)

I think I'll echo flumsy's WTF !!!!! Wow wow wow! There is just no stopping you!

I can't begin to explain jut what a sense of achievement I feel for you! Unbelievably amazing how far you have come :D I'm on a 3 hour train ride to Glasgow and sitting here with SUCH a huge grin on my face that I'm sure the guy opposite me is getting worried that I'm some sort of loon!!

Most of all though, i'm really chuffed that you have got to the point where you find it so enjoyable and rewarding. Running is just so liberating and empowering - sounds silly but there is such a huge kick in "I did that. I RAN that. I'm not fat and unfit anymore, I can't be because I just ran 5km".

I said it before and I'll say it again - I am SO proud of you :D

Gosh, eycky, flumes, tigpuppy... Who next??

I'm lucky enough to live on a holiday island in the mediterranean sea, in a beautiful little village about 10 mins from a major holiday resort. My house has sea views and enough beds to sleep 5 extra people comfortable. It's impossible to avoid everybody wanting to come and stay with me :)
It may seem as if I get out and about a lot but because of looking after my Dad I rarely get out of the house for more than 2 or 3 hours a day so it's great to have people staying here. That's also why I spend so much time on this forum :)

That's good to know. I haven't had anything more than a few twinges and even then I have not run for a couple of days to rest it. If I ever got any real pain then I would stop even though it would upset me.

LOL that makes me feel better about wanting to kill innocent people. :D

Thanks for being proud of me and you should be proud of your part in it as well. I know for sure that without you doing this and encouraging me it wouldn't even have occurred to me that I could possibly do it.
I keep thinking that one day I am going to wake up to find that it was all a dream and I still have to hoist myself up off the sofa.
I think that anybody that sees me coming out of the gym would think that I'm a nutter with a silly grin spread all over my face. In the car I was saying out loud to myself - I cant' believe it I just ran 6 f***ing kms.:D

:smilielol5: Thanks Flumes! I was trying to eat an apple while catching up on people's journals. I half choked half snorted apple out my nose. Do you have ANY idea how much it sucks (or blows?) to get apple bits out of your sinuses????

Eycky you are just blowing me away with your running progress! Unbelievable!!!

:D :D :D I absolutely love the image of you leaving the gym with a silly grin all over your face. :D :D :D Someone needs to take a picture of this particular expression of yours right after a good run. :D
