On my way to 63kgs

I've just seen the most stupid advert on the telly. It's normal looking trainers that you wear to lose weight. It's says to forget sweating in the gym just walk around casually in these shoes and lose up to 11 kgs in a month. The sad thing is that people will believe it and buy them instead of dieting or exercising!!!!!!

Can you believe some of the scams they have out there preying on poor people that don't know what it REALLY takes to lose weight. Everyone wants the magic bullet that will allow them to lose weight without changing their lifestyle at all. Sadly we all know those things will never work...

Lose up to 11kgs?! Is that like if you literally walk aroudn 24 hours non-stop? IF so...I'm dashing out to buy a pair (!) hahahaa.

The advert shows somebody out of breath and sweating at a gym and they say that there is no need for the gym just wear the shoes and then show a woman in the shoes casually walking around the park!!!!

Hi all, I've been getting plenty of exercise these last few days. My daughter's car is in the garage so she has been using mine to go to Uni and work and I've been walking backwards and forwards to the shops and other places. We've had a week of thunder storms but it has gone back to pleasant autumn weather now and it's nice to get outside.
Less than 2 weeks and I'll have all my friends finishing work and we can get our exercise sessions started. I can't wait :)

Groups exercise is a cool thing. I used to ride with a some friends from work, and we always had a good time cycling together. Haven't been able to get the interest going in a little while though so I miss it.

Making the most of the car situation is a good thing.

You're a sweet mom to do that for her...and a clever one for using it as a reason to get even more exercise!

I know you'll enjoy exercising with a group of friends. I used to have a good group like that back two years ago when we lived in another town.

I'm glad you get to enjoy some nice fall weather. It's a gorgeous season...when it's not sloppy and rainly!

Hey Ecky!! Have missed u! =) Hope the group exercise thing is working out! You and your friends will be an intimidating group! =)

I've seen the ad too and couldn't believe it! The girl is extremely hot too so I'm sure the ad is working - poor people who get fooled!! If only it were that easy!

I saw a lady walking around in them yesterday, and she was just about falling over! She was already pretty skinny though :)

Hey there Eycky!

Hope you are doing well! Miss ya bunches!

I'll be gone for a week but hope to catch up with you when I get back.

Take care and wish you well.

Hi all, sorry I haven't checked in for a while but I've been feeling poorly. Just a flu thing but I've been reading the diaries a bit but was too lethargic to type. Feeling much better now. It's a lot more difficult to eat right when you aren't feeling well but because I didn't have much of an appetite I stayed the same weight.
I really feel now that this is permanent. I haven't counted calories for about 3 months now and have done very little exercise for the last couple of months but have managed to maintain the same weight. Hopefully next week when we get back into exercise on a daily basis and I start to count calories again I should start to lose weight again. I'm going to England in January and would love to be at goal weight by then especially as I will be getting measured up for new bras. Also I will be looking for a dress for my son's wedding in July but can't do that until I get to my lowest weight.
I think that I've caught up with everybodies diaries. Sorry if I missed anybody. It's sort of shocking how much sadness there is in the lives of the few people that I talk to on these forums and amazing how much the lives of people that I have never met in person affect me. I love the fact that all of us can use these forums as an outlet for whatever is going on in our lives. Hugs to all of you that are going through sad or worrying times. :grouphug:

Ditto Eycky!

Hope you are feeling back to your normal healthy self real soon!

Its lovely to have you back around Ecky - I know its only been a few days but we REALLY REALLY missed you!!!! I know what you mean about it hitting you every now and then and really sinking in that this change in weight is here to stay and that something would have to change big time for you to even get anywhere close to putting weight on again. I think this is the real achievement - we have "reset our norms" to be on the right path lifestyle-wise and the old ways seems the odd ways now.

Where are you coming to in England? Maybe we should have a WLF meet up!! That would be so weird and cool!

Yes, there are a lot of sad things going on in people's lives here, but I am so touched by the support and sharing and how important we become to each other. In a way, we are more honest and open because its an internet forum, than we are in RL with other friends. I value that so much. I feel like you guys really understand what is happening to me inside with the weight loss as well as outside visible. And being able to talk about all the other stuff going on is a wonderful bonus. PLus, we do all share in the GOOD STUFF too!!! And are genuinely pleased when good things happen in each others lives.

I want a WLF meet up! :D :D We can go to a gym together ;) Or maybe just a restaurant with lots of wine!

Hope the flu thing is gone now xx

I love the idea of a meet up but I doubt that it is possible when I go to England in January. We arrive in Stanstead airport on Saturday 8th January. The next day is my birthday so will celerate with family, then I have Monday and Tuesday already booked up meeting family and friends and then in Wednesday we go to London to meet up with my future daughter in law and her mum to do some wedding shopping. Then back home at the weekend so we have a totally full schedule.
I think a weekend in Mallorca meetup once the weather gets better again sounds like a good idea and would give you all a chance to show off your sexy new bodies!!!!! Like one of those hen nights that so many people come here for. :D
If not I will just have to programme it in next time I come to England which isn't often.
I'm feeling 100% better now. Thanks for all your good wishes.
I went out on a 2 hour walk with a couple of my friends that came round to see me yesterday. We were going to sit and drink tea but I said that we should walk while we chat. We are offcially back to proper exercising on Tuesday as Monday is a bank holiday here. One of my friends is really out of condition and has put back all the weight that she lost last winter so we will have to start off a bit slowly for the first week or so until she catches up a bit.
Most of my friends and family finished work yesterday and won't work again for 4 to 6 months so I will have lots of people to exercise with. They all like the idea of putting a couple of euros in a pot everytime we get together and use it for a spa day, massage, make over or what ever we decide at the end of the winter.
I hope that you're all having a great weekend.
