150.8!!! WooHoo!!!!!!!

You're so close to those 140s!!

I'm glad the shreddie fast paid off!! :hurray: It's always nice when a sacrifice is rewarded. :D

I agree that Wulsk should start a diary and update as often or rarely as she likes. The diary is for you--not anyone else--so you can do with it what you like. :)

I'm sure that when you get to your goal, you'll tend to the things around the house that need tending. For now, they can continue to be neglected. :biggrinjester:

Hi Kimberly

I must admit that I am pretty pleased to have hit a new low. I must admit that I do miss my honey shreddies - but I am still trying to keep off them as I definitely think that I am seeing some good results from doing this. I am positive that I would have had a gain by now. TOM has actually hit (2 days early!!! - that is really early for me - on Thursday afternoon) and my weight is down from last week. I am really not used to being in this situation with my weight not having gone through the roof - so I have no idea how my weight is going to go for the next week if I keep doing what I am doing.

I will naturally be pleased to get into the 140s - and can see the people that I was in the 150s club that have already left (did you see how quickly Demented has been losing weight - check it out on the weigh every day club - it is enough to make anyone jealous). I also keep focusing on the giant milestone at 147 which I truly cannot wait for. That is the point when I will half my start weight. This is what is motivating me to be quite a strict with my honey shreddies.

I am sure that a lot of people would find Wulsk's diary both motivating and inspiring. We have a lot of friends on the forum and can forget that there are new people joining every day. Some have a big project to deal with and others a comparitively small one. There are all sizes of project just like there are all sizes of people - but all are hugely important to the person in question. No-one would join a forum if they were happy as they were. Someone that is looking to look more stunning in a bikini in a month's time is not inspired by someone who has gone from morbid obesity to type 2 obesity. They want someone that they can identify with that has accomplished what they want to accomplish. I think that there will be a lot of people who are looking to accomplish exactly what Wulsk has done - and would love to see that it has happened (and as quickly) and be able to ask for bits of advice.

Believe me - I am adding new layers of definition to the term "neglecting household duties". I will deal with it when I can cut my exercise hours. None of us can achieve everything that we would like to achieve. We are only human.

Take care
Love

Hi Camy

Thanks for visiting and your words of encouragement. As so often happens the day after a new low - my weight is up slightly today - but it doesnt matter as the territory is regained.

I am perfectly happy to count grapes most days. I like to try to keep a bit of a track of things and I find counting grapes so much easier than weighing them. I tend to sort out a plate or bowl of grapes just for myself - and generally 40 tends to fill the bowl or plate nicely. I put some water into the sink and happily count as I break each one off the stalk and put it into the water. When I get up to 40 I know that there is enough for my bowl.

It would be absolutely rediculous if I had washed them on the stalk or was taking them from a communal fruit bowl. As it is it is quite simple to keep count.

Marg honey, I go away for a few days and you hit a new low!! I feel like such a bad forum friend for not being here THE MOMENT you updated. Life happens though of course, and I'm here now, so that's what matters!

YAHOO!! Let's have a 150:party:

I'm so uberly proud of you. The smile on my face is so stretched, I kid you not. Wow, this an awesome day. It just *feels* like a good Friday.

You know what, it seemed that when I stopped eating cereal throughout the day, I lost the weight alot faster as well. I use to snack on cereals as well as eat them before a run, and when I stopped (because the fam was too busy to buy milk) I realized I started losing it faster. I stick to oatmeal everymorning now and occasionally, the bowl of cereal I cannot resist.

This is so awesome, Marg. You're going to be hitting 147 in no time. Can I ask if you think you'll be losing more than your goal weight at this point?

Hi Rae

As so often happens with new lows - it was followed by an increase - but when the territory is regained I know that it will come back down. Maybe not for a few days (TOM and food temptations tomorrow) but I have faith that I can get there now.

Dont worry about not diving straight into my diary. I can assure you that I am about as remiss as you can get for visiting diaries at the minute. I just seem to spend the days out walking and the nights watching TV because hubby is hooked on a new computer game and likes to play it as much as possible. He is muttering that he doesnt play it enough as he sees me write this.

When you axe normal junk food and really try your best to eat really healthy stuff all the time - you really do get to the stage where the nice tasting cereal is the nearest thing to junk food that you ever seem to have.

Looking forward - since you ask - to my goal weight. As you know I am still some distance away. Quite a lot of us have never felt comfortable with our bodies as adults and pick a goal weight by looking at nice sounding numbers, opting for a BMI that they think will be appropriate or possibly by asking a friend of a similar height what they weigh. Many people try and guess from their wrists whether they should be thinking of themselves as having a small, medium or large frame. I havent that difficulty in that I was perfectly happy with my weight when I was about your age. I wasnt the skinniest girl in the world - but no-one would have thought of me as plump either. I therefore picked the approximate weight that I was then for my goal weight. Into my twenties my weight stabalised at about 126 and I felt that my tummy was a bit bigger than I would have liked. Looking back though - I was fine really. I was a couple of pounds heavier when I got married and basically around then things happened and my weight suddenly shot through the roof.

Fast forward to the present day.

I definitely want to get back to the high 120s. It is only then that I will feel that I have cancelled out that weight catastrophe. People keep saying to me things like "you cannot expect to be the weight that you were when you were young". "Middle aged people look better if they are a bit heavier". Personally - I am inclined to ignore them and continue to aim for the weight where I felt the happiest. My frame cannot have changed - so for me that should be the best weight. My only concern is that my body is now a different shape - for instance my boobs are a lot bigger. I have not come to a final decision as to whether I will require surgery - but I am certainly not ruling it out. It may be that I acquire the waist etc that I had at a higher weight because of the weight of the boobs (which includes a lot of skin). It would be silly to keep heading for a number in my head if I had acquired the shape because any subsequent surgery would change the number.

I doubt that I will want to lose more weight than my goal - but it is possible that I will change it and go for something slightly less when I am nearly there. Memory can play tricks so I will keep an open mind.

Take care
Love

Friday 28/03/08

Made some soup with some vegetable stock, some leftover vegetables and some cauliflower. When you see me having cauliflower soup over the next few days - you know what it is.

I made cauliflower soup recently too! It's funny, I don't usually like cauliflower, but I had some leftovers crowding up the freezer and so I found a recipe for a soup with curry spices and made it--I was really pleased with how it came out.

Anyway, congratulations on the new territory. It's nice that you have experience of knowing where your weight feels good.

Good Afternoon Margaret~
I am thinking of taking the kids for a walk today. The sun is shining brightly. I am sure that it is still a bit nippy out but I am sure that the kids won't notice it. LOL
I need to run out and get my Kiwi's!! We are doing a new budget and we shop on Monday's for the groceries. So of course I haven't been to the store since last Monday.
I hope that you are having a beautiful day. :)

I suspect you'll opt for the surgery once you get to goal. A woman I know lost a bunch of weight--over 100lbs, and ended up getting the loose skin removed--especially in the bust area. Not only was it out of proportion to the rest of her, being so top heavy gave her back aches. She is very glad she had the surgery. I would definitely keep an open mind about it. :)

Did Saturday bring you a lower weight? I forgot to weigh in before I ate today, so I don't know about my own..lol That's probably a good thing. :D

I think the fact that you want to hit the 120's again is a wonderful idea. I also like that you've created mini-goals for yourself in the beginning. For instance, trying to reach 147 first instead of something in the 120's.

I can familiarize alot with you here. You know, a month ago, my goal weight was 150, but now that I only have two more pounds to go, and still know what I look like physically, I'm going to say I'm thinking I want to lose maybe five more, just to see things tighten up a bit. I'm so close now. I cannot wait.

Hope you're having a good weekend!!
