mmm this forum has really been the motivational factor i needed this whole time... i will never leave... =D because i want to support other people who were like me... wasting my life away... hiding in my home... feeling like i wasnt worth it... things are changing though... we've set the wheels in motion... and never again are we going to take our health for granted!!! its a lifestyle!!! we just had to learn the hard way... be strong luxy^^
 
Its funny you mention hiding behind people in pictures. I always do that. UGH. I hate pictures. I cannot wait for the day I jump in front of people with cameras. lol. You can make 149!!! You are doing great- just keep up the awesomeness!!
 
Olux-hey there girlie, hope all is going well. Ok well I took note my normal settings on elliptical for you. My normal incline is 9/20 which targets all top leg muscles and butt but not calf (that is so last on my problem areas of concern LOL) and the resistance is also 9/20 which for me is enough so I can fly through too fast but some to build up to. It is the closest to a 'jogging setting' for me and that is what I use to do a 5K challenge or the other day I did 3.7mi/40min. I try to keep it close to 10 min mile for a challenging workout.

Today I varied it to see what I would get and did interval training with 1st setting at maximum incline and resistance of 7 and then then next was incline of 2/20 and resistance of 12 those two alrernated for 30 minutes and I got in 2.7 miles. It was challenging.

Keep in mind though that different machines can vary ALOT. Definately worth trying ot take it up a notch, some days if I am not well I do slower but in general I try to challenge myself otherwise I dont get same effects nor do I get the stress/tension relief which I NEED! Just keep in mind you may need to up your cals a bit and it is a good idea to have a protein/complex carb small snack after a workout to refuel your muscle and insure it can build. I am sure Tru would be much better to ask about htat then myself.
 
Nicole - Thanks for letting me know! I tried doing the interval on the elliptical today and I'm pretty sure I almost died. I've only done HIIT on the treadmill and changing it over to the elliptical pretty much kicked my butt. But yeah, basically your test proved to me that I was basically not working hard enough on the machine. I need to move my legs faster so I can get at least up to 2.0 miles. HAHA. This 1.5 crap is not cutting it. :)

So I've been eating the most bizarre variety of food. I don't know why but I'm not really hungry so I just snack on weird things. Today I had:

Banana Nut Cheerios w/ Fat Free Milk
1 Hard Boiled Egg
2 Lettuce Wraps
Almonds
Banana Nut Cheerios w/ Almonds AND Milk
1/2 Wheat Pita Bread w/ Cheese
1/2 Hot Dog (No bun)

Not really sure what I was thinking when I ate all that stuff. Whatever! Gym today was good! I'm really hoping I can get down to 151 by the start of the new challenge!

Olux-that sounds like a healthy good mix of food and doesnt sound like too much at all unless portions were huge! Have you figured out your BMR to see about how much you shold be eating?? I think it sounds excellent.

ANyway NICE job on the elliptical, just increase slowly dont try to be killing yourself because you read my dumb journal LOL. My friends trainer told her to never use the manual settings on the machine because you will always work harder if its being varied for you (I know I for one dont want to give in and push the darn down button LOL) so I stuck with the stair routine it gave me yesterday and it was HARD!!
 
I had a hot dog craving a few days ago. I got those fat free ones 40 calories and ate it on a piece of 35 calorie bread with one tablespoon of turkey chili and mustard. Yummy and only like 100 calories so I ate 2!
I do feel the impact of dieting. Last night I dreamed about bean dip! (no lie)
That fat boy in my head is still lurking in there.
 
YAY! I just finished a 50 minute cardio session at the gym! FEELING GREAT! Food today has been pretty good too and now I'm just waiting for my fish to finish cooking. I haven't lost as much weight these last two weeks but I also haven't really been working out as hard as I should. Even when I did my 60 minutes of cardio, it would be easy stuff like sitting on a bike and going slowly. NO MORE OF THAT! Only QUALITY workouts allowed! I want to hit 149 by the end of this month and I'm only going to get there if I kick my ass into gear. LET'S GO! :)

I ran into two guy friends I haven't seen since last semester. I was running late to class and one yells "HEY!" So we stop to talk for a quick second and he just blurts "Whoa, you look skinny!" I was like, "THANKS FOR NOTICING!" BUT YEAHH that feels great! I've also noticed that in the past, whenever I took photos, I'd want to be behind someone because I was so big. Now I don't mind so much because my body doesn't take up the whole photograph! YEAHHH! :)

OK OFF TO BE PRODUCTIVE. Thanks everyone for your words of encouragement! I know without you guys and this forum, I would still be sitting on my butt, eating french fries at 185 lbs. YOU ARE FABULUOS!
HELL YA GIRLIE!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE DOING SO GOOD, and being SOOO FOCUSED!!! It's okay that you are kinda stuck cause you were dropping like crazy!!! You'll see soon, like you say, when you kick your butt into gear....(which I plan to follow :blush5:)...then YOU WILL BE 149 lbs by the end of the month!!! You impress the shit out of me!!! I want to melt like you!!!...LOL!!!....then again I have to work as hard as you!!!.....

I'm BACK! Sorry for being MIA. This weekend was SO AMAZING! My best friend turned 21 this past week so we went out every night this past weekend to drink, dance, & party! I've given up a lot of my social life these past few months because of my weight loss journey. And as much as I love this forum, sometimes it isn't enough to just sit on here - I need my friends. I think I've come far enough in my weight loss now that I can manage having a social life with my weight loss. I just need to reassure myself that adding all the social aspects back in does not mean I can gain any of this weight back! ANYWAYY, yes, this weekend was something I really needed to not lose my sanity.

I have an intense few days this week at school because of exams and projects. I just need to get through the next few days and then this Friday I'm heading into San Francisco to go clubbin! YEAHH, YEAH!

Woww olux, you look amazing..you really do look like your in the 120's-130's range..i cant even imagine how you will look at your goal!! I seriously cant wait to get in the 150's now LOL
