Oh, the issues abound!

I agree with cannon I think it's GREAT that you didn't just give up and say I'll start over when I'm feeling better. Kudos!!!! Keeep up the good work, looks like you're having a good day today.

The fact that I've been housebound with a back injury for 2 weeks and have NOT used it as an excuse to 'start later' and have not fallen into depressed binging is huge for me.

That is exactly what I was thinking as I was reading your diary. I'm bad enough when I'm on holiday and I don't have to do anything ... but not being able to do anything - how frustrating. You have done so well to stick to a plan and you should be proud.

I have just deleted what I was going to write - I CAN believe what that woman said to you girls when you were in school - that's the sad part, there are so many people out there like that, and it just creates anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating (all of which can be fatal - they should be charged with manslaughter  ). I saw a news report recently that said that Anorexia is the most dangerous and fatal mental illness, because of the stress it put on the body, especially the heart. Sorry to rant, but it makes me sooooooo angry ... I was called a beached whale by my P.E. teacher at school. Funnily enough, I didn't try any harder.

Ha!

Ha ha! I am laughing because you are on the same track as I am, basically. I started out "okay". I was eating a little better, but not really trying so hard. By the time I had done that for about three weeks, I was ready to do better! I had that night where I ate too much pizza, and I realized, I need to try a little harder! My next step was counting my calories.

I don't know what your next step will be, but I know it is going to make a difference! Why? Because I have already seen a glimpse of your character, and I can tell that you are not going to give up. You are ready for this, and that is so great! Go ahead, take your next step and get ready to start moving that ticker. Let's head down the scale together!

I am glad you will be doing some walking. So far, that is still my only form of exercise, but it is SO good for you! Hang in there. I can't wait to see your 6 week update!!!

At the end of the day doing "better" is better than doing nothing!;) You've done really well not to let your back problems tease you into old habits and I hope you feel better soon!:(

Hopefully you'll have a lovely weekend, it's lashing down with rain again in Scotland just now so I hope it's better where you are!:)

I'm glad to see you are hanging tough. I think getting back to work a bit will aid your healing process. I am very impressed that you have kept your binging under control with all the stess. Good Luck this weekend.

I did really well yesterday. So happy with myself. :) After the cereal, wrap and banana I talked about earlier I had an apple and a massive salad for supper. There was soy cheese and sunflower seeds on the salad (yum protein! ) but we made it bigger ( I was hungry) by adding extra lettuce. And Emmcookie makes an amazing no fat dressing - sooo good!

And I drank so much water I could have floated away.

I am feeling so motivated. Can't wait to fet moving a little bit this week by walking to work etc.

Great going Sillygirl, once you get the momentum of a healthy lifestyle going, it is so much easier to keep going, isn't it :)

Hey Sillygirl! Just popping in to see how you are! So you've got screws in your leg too? What are yours for? I hate how we've both got these injuries to hamper our progress but we will get through this! :D

In response to your first post of this thread: WOW. That woman sounds beyond horrible! It makes me so angry that somebody would do that to another person...and that age group seems especially vulnerable to criticism and ridicule. How awful. :(

Yay see I knew you'd be fine today and bounce back really quick, hopefully the rest of your week goes just as well! I wish I could eat cereal due it being healthy but my body seems to reject it.

Thanks everyone for your support!! I really has helped get me through the past few weeks.

HH - Yes, I have a screw in my lower leg. They had to move a tendon in my knee because I had a problem with recurrent dislocation. My knee problems were what stopped my dancing life back when I was 17.

Now on to the nitty gritty. I don't know exactly what my start weight was due to the annoying broken scale issue. What I do know is that I've lost 2 pounds in the past week!!! And I go back to work tomorrow. I'm feeling so strong and positive! Yay! *off to do a happy dance*

You GO!!!!

You GO, Sillygirl! I am SO on your butt. 2 pounds, huh? I can make that. You better watch your calories this week if you want to stay ahead of me, because I am on the ball. :D Seriously, great job!

SillyGirl - You are doing GREAT!!

And yes, TwinMom and I are in a race to catch up to you, we're on your heals ;)

I can't tell what your starting weight was, because the numbers are jumbled up but I'm sure if Twin says we're close, we are :D

Great job! I'm glad you're feeling better about things. I'm back from my mini-vacation! Back on the weight loss train. Determined!!

Glad to hear your feeling great and 2 lbs GONE!!! HAPPY DANCIN' YEAH!!!!! SHAKIN BOOOTY FOR YOU!!! WHOO HOOO!

Woo hoo!! My first day back in the real world and my back feels OK. Emmcookie and I went for a walk last night for roughly 45 minutes. My first exercise since I've started all of this and it just made me that much more motivated. I really feel good and like this is something I can accomplish!!

So far today I've eaten cereal with skim soy milk, a fruit & veg bar, a veggie bacon wrap and an apple. We're having pitas with faux chicken strips, hummus, onion and potato for supper. I'm kinda hungry but would rather save my calories for that. And I'm working on getting my water in.

silly girl, I just caught up with your journal and your very first post broke my heart. What that awful lady did and said to you was horrible. Just horrible!!!

But you are past that now, and you are getting on with taking care of you and that's great. I'm sorry that you've had such physical problems as of late. But sound like you are back on track.

And it's wonderful that you have someone to do emmcookie to do this with. It's so much easier to do it with a buddy. Y'all just keep it up!!!

And congrats on the 2 pounds. One pound at a time!!!
