Nothing To Loose - That is the goal

i think you are just learning a lesson here.....
Seems like when I let go of the reins even just a little bit, I start going crazy with the food, and I need to buckle down some
.

& you are not sabotaging your efforts, a treat or slip up here and there is NOT going to ruin your efforts, it will actually probably keep your body/metabolism on its toes (persay) and keep working at a good level. so, no worries there...

as for the bowflex, i am SUPER JEALOUS. i would LOVE one of those. my neighbor a couple years ago had one and did a 20 minute routine daily or something like that and it worked well, no issues with it...so good luck and hooray! that will defiitely help your strength training efforts..

put yesterday behind you. today is a new day.....chin up!

Skyler, thanks, I know I can't beat myself up too much, but in a way I kind of needed to give myself up a wake up call. Maybe that will be a better motivation to keep my food "obsession" under check. I am only asking from my body not to overeat junk food when I am NOT hungry...

That's ok, though, I've vented and moved on. Have a plan for the day, so that should help. :)

Yes, I'm hoping that calorie jumping will keep my metabolism guessing. So far this week I had: 1000, 1200, 1800, 1400, 1600... Its time for a couple of low days now...

Cool, glad you heard good things on Bowflex. Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. Right now I only have 5 lbs anckle weights, and some exercises that low weight is just not working muscles hard enough, so I definitely will benefit from Bowflex! Neither me nor hubby are up for joining the gym, so getting something like that will work well for both of us. Plus there will be much more variety of exercises... Pushups are getting old. :)

I forgot to add earlier - I have riding lesson tonight (if it does not rain), and a horse show tomorrow, so should get plenty of exercise! Looking forward to sleeping in on Sunday.

Girlfriend You Are Doing Good You Have Been So Focused And You Can Do This I Have No Doubt!

i want a bowflex... no take that back- I want the ROOM for a bowflex, lol... hope you have a fantastic weekend, and ya know what? you didn't sabatoge yourself, you let yourself indulge once, I did that last night, lol.. which yeah, ya always feel bad about, but sometimes ya gotta do it. Have fun at the horse show!

Thank you all! Yes, I can't wait. Bowflex arrives Wednesday. We're putting it in the middle of our living room. Yes, it cramps the style, but we thought about it and decided that our health was more important then leaving the space for guests that come maybe once a year?

I was bad and did not write down what I ate over the weekend, so have no idea how I did calorie-wise, but I did not feel like I was piging out, so I think I did ok. Friday and Saturday was riding, Sunday I had to rest because I was so tired from Saturday's horse show. I am still tired today, but made myself exercise for 10 min this morning. Gained some weight because I was really low on water both Saturday and Sunday. :( Need to drink more!

Ok Drink Your Water And You Can And Will Do This!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi there, sounds like you have been doing really well. I really admire your determination and I am glad it is paying off for you. Well done on fitting into your old skirts, bet that was a nice feeling. How exciting getting a home gym. best thing about that is your free to use it when ever its best for you and its nice that you and your hubby will have it in common, it helps to have a workout partner. You are doing really well keep it up.

Thank you all!

Yes, I am not quitting until I'm done. I may be loosing very-very-very slowly, but I am still loosing (I think... Sometimes its hard to tell, LOL). And eventually, I'll get to my goal. Although the way its going, it will probably take me about a year to loose next 10 lbs. But I think that's ok.

I just realized that today is my measurement day. I'll update you all tomorrow (hopefully) if I made any progress. I've been loosing about 1 inch per month in the past, and I really hope that this trend continues.

As for hubby being my workout partner - well, that's just not going to workout. I prefer to work out alone, because I always end up comparing my fitness level and abilities to his, and end up making myself feel bad and getting discauraged. I know this is silly, and I cannot compare myself to him or even anyone else for that matter, but I cannot help it, so I prefer to exercise alone to avoid the whole situation. Calories for yesterday still have not written down, but hopefully were not too bad. Did strength exercises today. Can't wait for the home gym to arrive!

wow...you are so positive and doing great with teh exercise! and, i see you lost another pound! WHOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!! CONGRATS!!!! they are dropping, it just takes time as we know! Cant wait to hear about your measurements - i'm sure you are smaller if you were able to fit into old clothes!! keep up the great work.

Thanks, Skyler!

Yes, I hit my new low the 2nd time, and I figured what the hell, I'll change my ticker. :) It is nice to see 132 on the scale... Getting closer to those 120s!!!

As for measurements I lost almost 2 inches! 1 from waist and 1 from hips. Actually, more like 3/4 from hips, but I "could" make it say 40, down from 41. Still, that's pretty good even though I don't feel a whole lot lighter or smaller. Sometimes smaller size just creepes in on you!!! ;)

This gives me extra encauragement with exercise, that's for sure!

of course you have support!!! and yes, it should give you more encouragement to exercise b/c those inches are what is important!!!!!!!! GREAT JOB!!! Looking good....keep it up!!!

Cool!

I am going riding tonight again. Another show is Monday, so I have to get ready for that.

Bowflex is arriving today, hopefully hubby and I will be able to put it together before the weekend!

You're so lucky I always wanted to go to riding school when I was a little girl but there wasn't one near me.:(

You're doing well on the weight loss front though (what wouldn't I give to be your weight :D), keep up the good work and enjoy your show!

Thanks! You know, its never too late to start riding. There are beginner classes for adults. :)

Don't worry, if you keep going, you will get to that goal in no time, but you have to be patient and stick to your diet and exercise regimen!

Ok, apparently with Bowflex you get a booklet which describes 6 week diet and exercise regimen as they claim for "maximum fat loss". The meal plans have you eat 1200 cals/day 1st 2 weeks, then 1100 for next 2 weeks, then 1000 cals last 2 weeks. I was surprized it was that low. They also have recommendation for the level of exercise. I don't remember the details, but they basically said not to be too active outside of those workouts, because your body will need rest to build muscle in between workouts, and doing a lot of extra activities will actually slow down the process(which I thought was interesting). They also have you drink A TON on water. If anyone is interested of learning more about that program, I'll post the info or email it to them. Personally I feel that this program would be too restrictive for me, but I may decide to do it at some point later. For now I will either devise my own set of exercises, or will try their suggestions, but my focus is establishing good exercise routine.

Hey, I'm new here and I was just kind of interested about the whole boflex routine. I'm having a problem eating enough calories w/out including processed foods or chocolate so I wanted to know what kind of exercise they recommended since the calorie intake was so low. I belong to a gym and I wanted to start a ROUTINE that has been so off and on lately but I don't want to overdo it. What kind of cardio does bowflex suggest, or does it even...I'm more into the weight train machines but was just wondering if you have the time to dish! : ) -Tish
