No Pain, No Loss?

I'm still trying to get amped about going to the gym Its only 4pm here and I probably won't get there until 7pm or so. I'm trying to will myself to want to go, but I just can't seem to do it. I'm going even if I don't want to.. but I tend to stay longer and get more done if I want to be there.

Hey Sunny don't worry about it because it's a hard thing to get use to doing. I was the same way and now I feel guilty if I miss a day.......

The personal trainer thing I had a bad experience as well and it has me turned off of them. I'm sure there are good ones out there but I just haven't found them yet lol....

Hey everyone! Sorry I kinda dropped off the forum world for a bit. Its been a busy busy weekend and I finally got my computer turned on and was able to sit down with a cup of tea.

I have some great news! I weighed 181 this morning!!!! Finally, I've pushed past that barrier I was struggling with around 184-185 and as soon as I went past it, the weight shed off nicely. Is that normal?

I'm so close to the 170s. Its exciting!

Cannon, thanks for telling me about your trainer experience. I had read just a little of your journal when you were trainer hunting and I kind of remember you having an experience with one of those people who assumes too much and asks too little. I'm glad you've found someone that is really motivating you. I think I should have Val drive up here and train me! Hahaha.... That would be really expensive.

Val, you'd make a wonderful trainer! You have a good attitude in life and I think that really motivates people. Plus you've spent all this time talking to people who are trying to lose weight that you'd really understand where people are coming from. I know you wouldn't give the McD's speech unless you saw someone chow down on a Big Mac just before walking into the gym. Haha. (I've seen that before...)

Hillbillylee, I made myself go to the gym last night and I wasn't there for long. But at least I went and did something. I'll be going again tonight to compensate for cutting last night's visit a little short. I just couldn't keep my mind occupied when I started doing my cardio.
I think I might have found a trainer that doesn't treat everyone like they don't know a thing. I don't know what his name is yet, but I saw him helping another woman who is about my size and shape and he really seemed like he was genuinely interested in showing her what to do.

Its time to fix my weight tracker and drink my cup of jasmine green tea. Yumm! :D

Hey natalie!

I wanted you to know that I went to the gym and did the bike for 35 minutes like I said I would. Then I got totally busy and didn't have a chance to tell you. Hahaha... I think I need to figure out a regular posting time.

I've also been bad about updating fitday and keeping track of my calories.

- Sunny

Well Hey hey hey, that deserved some rep! 181! Looks like all that hard work is paying off BIG TIME! Glad it's working for you! :D I get really frustrated when my WLF friends do everything right and nothing budges, it perturbes me!

A little mad today.

I'm just a little mad today.

Last night, my boyfriend got a call from his dad while we were out grocery shopping. They spent some time catching up since they don't talk too often. During the conversation, it came out that he had paid for my boyfriend's mom's recent surgery out of an investment fund that he had set up years ago.

This is why I'm mad:

Previously, my boyfriends mom had called up her son and ranted and raved about the missing money, saying that her ex-husband must be spending that money on another woman.

(If someone has a problem with their now-ex-husband, why drag the son into it unless they're trying to turn the son against the dad?)

So after she made a huge fuss about it, she neglected to tell her son that she was wrong and that her lawyer found out that the money paid for HER surgery (an injury which, after she fell down the stairs, she refused medical attention... quite possibly, she would have never needed surgery had she done something about it immediately).

That aggravates me.

My boyfriend says she's always been this way. I can't imagine growing up with a mom who tries to turn family members against each other.

Cannon, yea I'm amazed constantly. For a long time I thought my boyfriend had a more "normal" set of parents. It wasn't until recently that I really started paying attention to what was going on. I guess I'm a little slow... lol.

Still 181 today. Not too bad since I had junk yesterday.
There's this odd thing that happens whenever there are brownies in the house: I don't gain weight! Its kind of a miracle since I love to eat them. I think it might be because I eat brownies and then I don't want normal food. Its just a substitute of calories but not going over the limit. They certainly aren't good for me but I feel pretty good after I have all that chocolate. :D

I gave up drinking coffee over the last couple weeks and replaced it with tea. I still go to Starbucks but maybe only once or twice a week. I'm not having the morning cup of tea with cream, (no sugar), anymore. I might start doing that again as the weather gets colder.. but tea is pretty good so far. Plus I have more kinds of tea than I can possibly drink.

I'm hoping to see the number 180 on my scale before the end of the week. I think I can do it, but I might have to throw in an extra visit to the gym. Wish me luck!

- Sunny

180 is in the cards! :D

Tea, yiah! I don't drink coffee, but lately I drink only water--though last night I had orange juice and it was comforting  I shall make tea now!!

Thanks for the love, and sorry about that witch you have to deal with. Karma will reward you for your patience ;)

I tried dumping my bucket of patience over her head and it didn't melt her. I thought that was supposed to work!

- Sunny

She won't answer her phone now, but she's checking her voice mail....
How do I know? We pay for her cellphone. :p
So we're pretty sure that she's waiting for her son to call and apologize for her nasty behavior.

His Grandma called and asked if he had heard from his mom. He said, "Nope, but the cellphone bill says she's alive and well!"

I just about died laughing.

The whole situation is oddly funny...
I feel like I'm dealing with a 5yr old having a tantrum, but instead its a woman 10x that age.

We also have NO idea where she put our gym membership cards. We've been going on the temp passes that I neglected to throw away. So glad I didn't throw 'em out.

- Sunny

I don't think she stole them. More like "cleaned them up off the kitchen counter." It was fun looking for the rent check we had already written out, and put in an envelope. It wasn't where we left it..

I don't have a lot of odds and ends aside from cat toys, so there isn't a whole lot to be "cleaned up" in my house. But it never seems to fail that there's something important that goes missing after she's visited.

And by the way... I don't think I mentioned that the "argument" started out over her son asking her not to do our dishes. You'd think that a simple "okay" would suffice, but instead she said "Why, is it pissing you off?"

And it went downhill from there... lol

I think I need an army of buckets... Oh mickey mouse, where are you when I need you and your bucket-toting-mop-men?!

- Sunny

Egads, Sunny....

I read that and I had to make sure I wasn't writing it. hahaaa! We're going through the same thing with my mum in law. She'll nag about this and that to my husband, he'll feel bad to the point it makes him into a grumpy bitch, and then he'll try to act up with me. Keyword, "try." It never works, because I usually end up saying, "If you're going to be a little bitch, don't bother." He straightens out in a second. HA! Luckily for us we live 2 hours away from her, so we don't have to deal with it. Unless she calls the phone over and over. When that happens, we just shut the ringer off. (Gotta love caller ID) LMAO! Believe me... you're in my thoughts, poor girl. LMAO! However, on a good note... you're almost in the 170s!!! WOOOOTTTTTT!!! hahaa....

Hahahah, I'm totally using that one at some point!
I'm told I have "that look" down to a science. Ya know the one that will make any man cringe and wonder what he just did wrong? Thats what I usually use but I'm going to have to switch it up and keep the BF on his toes.

Sorry to hear you're going through a similar thing with your mum-in-law. It can be so frustrating. I'm just very glad that some of the things I hear/see/etc come from my BF's mom are so unrealistic that its hard not to laugh. I equate it with watching a train wreck sometimes... its fascinating and you just can't look away, but its almost painful to watch. And then when you find out that absolutely no one was hurt, you can joke about it.

(More Ranting Below)

Last night the BF and I had a "stern" talk about health. I kind of felt like he was brushing me off when I said I'd rather us not eat deli meats soaked in nitrates. It turns out he wasn't brushing me off. He was just off in mental-la-la land and I was ready to jump all over him for not taking me seriously. No idea why. I feel kinda bad for it.

Anyhow, after the talk, he mentioned that his mother thinks what we're doing is total crap. The summary of what we're doing is: losing weight (yea, we're both overweight), eating right (healthy foods), absolutely NO HFCS, we've cut out most diaries that could contain rBST (I let the ice cream slide 'cause he eats it and I don't really), and we're careful to select meats that aren't saturated in solutions of flavorings, etc.

She thinks its total crap that we're doing this. Can you believe it?

At age 24, I'm already battling malignant tissue that could potentially turn into breast cancer. Its a pretty serious thing for me, considering there's a history of breast cancer in the family. The BF's mom knows this (if she was listening to me) and she thinks that the careful choosing of foods, regular exercise, and cutting out the crap is stupid. She even had the gall to tell her son that. Nice, eh?

Well mum-dear, at least I care about your son's health, even if you don't.

(End Rant)

On a more positive note, today I weighed in at 181 when I woke up, but 180 after I got home from the gym. (Yea, I was curious). Lets hope it sticks.

I'm gonna change my ticker so I feel more responsible in keeping that number.
