Week has started off good. Went to the gym. Hopefully will get back in there tomorrow.
 
Wow, I'm so sore from the gym yesterday. I started some weight lifting again. I hadn't done any in the last few weeks. I had just been focusing on pushups. My arms are so sore!

I finished my last final today. I'm so glad to be done with school for awhile. One more semester to go and then I truly will be done. It'll be so nice to graduate.


Update on the wedding stuff. My dress has came in. It arrived really fast, I think it only took a week. Anyways, I'm going to the store this Saturday to try it on to make sure it's the right size. My dad also wants to see it. I'm excited!!!


I'm also looking forward to weigh in on sunday. I feel like I've been doing well this week and I've gotten to the gym twice! Tomorrow will meet my goal of 3 times this week so that's really good.
 
You're really cranking Munch! Sounds like you're having a great week and will reap the rewards! You might have over done it a bit at the gym...so be careful to not overdo and get put out! I enjoy reading your updates and please know that you are helping to motivate me!

Yeah, I think I definetly did a little too much yesterday. I'll be sure to take one of my muscle relaxers tonight, hopefully that will help with the pain I'm having. It'll also make me sleep really good! :) lol

Yes, you do motivate people...at least you do for me. You asked about China..yes, I do live here full time (been here for almost 2 years). I'm working as a project manager for Michelin, building a tire manufacturing plant.

Good luck on the Criminal Justice career...I'm not sure I could do that...but glad you, and others like you can! Sounds like you might have some serious physical problems with the headaches etc...don't force yourself too much right now...might want to get some of that checked out! Thanks scbibhouse! I'll be careful, but I've suffered from bad headaches all my life (I'm 21). I've been checked for tumors, etc and nothing has been found. This is great, but it would definitely be niceto know what is causing them so they can be treated.


I weighed myself today and I seem to still be at 159, maybe 158. It's hard to see the scale. It's not official till Sunday, but I wish I could see some bigger weight loss than about one lb a week. I know that's supposed to be the way to go, but's it's just a little discouraging..


I didn't go to the gym today like I planned. Instead I was looking up caterers for our wedding. We decided the person we were going to use wasn't going to work out. He was dragging his feet and I want to feel comfortable knowing I don't have to worry about the food that day. I was also still sore from lifting the other day, so I suppose it was good to stay home. I think I'll go tomorrow. It's a must!


I'm thinking I might go buy one of those soft measuring tapes to start taking my measurements. Maybe I'm losing inches more quickly than pounds or something. Anyone have any suggestions as to where I could get one of those?

A total of 1245 cals for the day. I'm going to be strong and just drink water the rest of the night. I have been going as high as 1500 cals per day, but perhaps it's time to try to stay right at or barely above 1200 cals.
 
Hiya Munch!!! Looks like you're doing really well!!! Don't let the scales mess with your head, I try to only weigh in once a week because sometimes if I step on the scales mid week it can be pretty discouraging... Either if I haven't lose weight, or I've lost heaps and think I'm heading for a good weigh in, only to weigh more come official weigh day. Arrgh. Lol.


I think taking measurements is just as important as weighing, I do it once a month. You should just be able to get a measuring tape from the haberdashery section of a supermarket (in amongst all the needle and thread stuff) Otherwise department stores will have them, or if all else fails go to a fabric or sewing store. I take photos once a month too as a comparison, just because you don't tend to notice how much you shrink because you see yourself every day... I think photos are the most motivating when you see results!!


How exciting your wedding dress has come in already!!! Have fun trying it on!!!!!!
 
I hope your right Luz, hopefully I'll have a good number this week. I think I'll take your advice and make sure I don't check the scale during the week. I'm also gonna go get one of those tape measures tomorrow while I'm out doing my shopping. :) I feel like I'm thinner, but meausuring will help me know for sure, well once I get my initial measurements lol. Never done that before.


For lunch I made tacos for me and my fiance. I had two. It was one of those taco kits. I'm going to estimate it was 600 calories.

After work I'll be having some wine with the fiance. 4 oz of the type of wine I'll be drinking is 85 cals. I'm going to measure out my glasses. I plan on having two 8 oz glasses, which would be 340 cals bringing my total to 1450 for the day. Not too shabby!


Tomorrow I get to try my dress on again!! YAY! Then me,my fiance, and my parents are going to eat at Texas Roadhouse. I'm a little annoyed that they don't offer nutritional information.. :( But anyways, I'm going to go with chicken, only have one roll (I can't ignore them completely, they're soo good!!), and have a baked potato. I'm just going to ignore the other side, or give it to someone else. Afterwards I have a few gifts to pick up to finish off my Christmas shopping. Thank goodness!


I'm hoping I see at least a one pound drop this week or of course more! We'll see on Sunday. Tomorrow night we're going over to my fiances parents to help them decorate their tree. I know the kitchen is full of scrumptious goodies, so I'm going to have to be good and only have a tiny bit. This will be hard. Last week I had countless amounts of oatmeal chocolate chip cookies..... lol


I didn't make it to the gym.. which means I've only went twice this week. I will go on Sunday, I swear! lol My fiance will be working all day so I'll be sure to get in there.
 
Hey Munch, I agree with Luzdafuzz..get one of the measuring tapes (I used to hate that thing..now it's my friend!). I measured myself yesterday and found that since last month, my bust came down 1 inch (not that I really wanted that!), waist stayed the same, and hips came down 1/2 inch. It doesn't sound like alot, but that's the stuff you feel in your clothes!!

Keep your eye on the prize and make the exercise a priority...it will give you a boost!

So today was weigh day. I weighed in at 160 lbs. That's a one lb gain from last week. :( I was feeling really down and sad and was talking to my fiance about it while he was on break from work. He told me to just work for next week. He also told me to go to the gym because I always seem happier afterwards. As crazy as it sounds, he's so right. I feel great afterwards. Today, after I had talked to him, I went to the gym and ran 1.5 miles on the treadmill, 2miles on the bike, and 10 mins on the elliptical. Then I did a few weight machines and some pushups. I was done, lol!


I'm going to attribute the one lb gain to slacking on my counting yesterday. Sounds crazy, but I was most likely on my way to a week of just maintaining my weight when I my way home I see Burger king is giving out free fries! So without thinking I got some planning to share them with my fiance. He had a few, but I ate the rest. Granted it was only the value size, but I think that's still 200-300 calories I didn't need for that day. Then yesterday we went to Texas Roadhouse with my parents. I was annoyed that they didn't have a nutritional menu. I tried to go safe with a salad (french- I know not the best option, but I don't like anything else. I put less than the full serving they gave me on the salad) I had two rolls (I feel like my mom pressured me into having a second one by asking for more bread. I know she didn't shove it in my face, but she knows I'm trying to lose weight and that bread of any type is my downfall.) My entree was oven roasted chicken and a baked potato (with butter and sour cream) I avoided eating the skin of the chicken and just ate the meat. Oh, also forgot I had a little bit of a bloomin onion that was ordered as an appetizer. Ugh, now that I look back, I could have made better choices. :( Oh well, I guess every one has to learn.


Later for dinner we were at my fiances parents house to help decorate the tree. For dinner I had two pork bbq sandwiches on wheat buns and some multigrain pringles. Lets not forget a couple oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. UGH! I usually eat very light during the day when I know were going there for dinner because everythings so good. It was just a bad food day for me altogether. Live and learn I suppose.


I still need to get my hands on one of those darn measuring tapes. Hopefully I can get one this week. I always remember after I get home from the store!


Today for lunch I had a roast beef sandwich with cheese.

Dinner is some fish filets and some buncha crunch candy.

Cals total 1175


Add in the workout I had earlier and I should be a fat burning machine! lol


Well my dinner is almost ready, I finished cleaning the house, all my shopping, and laundry. I think it's about time to relax and play some xbox 360. :)
 
Heya Munch!!!! 1lb could be from anything, if you went out for dinner last night regardless whether you were under cals or not, you would likely be retaining fluid from the extra salt in commercially prepared food. Also if it's a heavier meal than what you normally have that could definitely contribute. Don't go crazy and cut your cals heaps though, it never helps... usually if I have a 1000cal deficit for more than a week my weight loss completely stops- make sure you are eating enough. 1175cals on a day that you've done absolutely NOTHING isn't enough, let alone on a day you've actually done a workout!! You can lose weight eating a fair amount of food, I promise :biggrin:


If you haven't already, hop on a website like fitday or dailyplate and pop in your details to get your average calorie burn per day, and see how much you're burning with exercise also.


Awesome the gym picked your mood up though and you didn't let a small gain derail you- you can do this!!

I know what you mean about bread...love that stuff with butter...it's why I went cold turkey on it...it just calls my name, so I just had to stop it!

luzdafuzz is right again! 1 lb could be from anything...so keep you eye on the prize, keep going to the gym and working out, and eating well and you'll be coming back down!
 
You both are right. I hopped on the scale today and was a few lbs under 160. I know this could be from anything just like the 1lb gain so I'm not going to record it. I'm gonna work my butt off this week and make sure I get a nice number on Christmas! That would be a great gift!


I just got back from the gym. Wow, I feel really great! I ran 1 mile(was feeling a little sluggish, think yesterday I pushed it a little further than necessary.) and 3 miles on the bike.


I had received a call while on the bike and checked the voicemail after my workout to find out the police department of my city wants me to interview for a dispatching position. I had applied a few months ago and had just assumed I wasn't qualified. Got my interview set for the end of this month. I hope this is my time to move on from my current job. We shall see. I'm putting it all in God's hands. If it's his will for me to get this job, I will. If not, I won't. I'll be bummed, but it probably just means he's got something even better for me in the future. :)


So maybe I'm a little confused Luz. My maintenance cals is around 2000 cals. 500 less puts me at 1500cals. I've read you should never eat less than 1200. I know I was less yesterday, but that usually never happens. I thought by doing that and exercise was suppose to be the way to lose weight. I didn't know eating those cals and exercising could inhibit my weight loss. You're not supposed to eat back the calories you burn through exercise right?
 
I'm at 1095 for countable calories I've had today. In addition to that I had some chocolates and some popcorn (you know the three kinds that come in those holiday tins? that stuff!) So I'm pretty sure that increased my calories a few hundred.


Can't wait to get off work and play some games, relax, and look over some more wedding stuff.


Going to hit the gym tomorrow after I get up. Will be my third day in a row! I'm also planning on making chicken. Need to eat as much protein as possible to up my muscle development!

Let's see for today I had 875 calories that I was able to count. Then I had 3 pieces of chocolate covered somethings (ya know from those box of chocolates. one was chocolate covered coconut, the other caramel, and the third was vanilla cream) Then I had one of those small reeces Christmas tree candies (approx 180 cals- Are you kidding me???), and a funsize butterfinger( approx 100 cals).


that brings me to 1155 for the day. Will be getting off work here shortly and will make sure I get a snack when I get home to bump the calories over 1200.


Didn't get to the gym and I don't see it happening tomorrow either, so looking forward to Thurs and Friday workouts.
 
Hi Munch, you're doing really well, well done! And good luck with that interview! I know how it must feel to wait for something like that, but I like your attitude, whatever happens, happens for a reason, and I really believe that most of the time when we don't get something it probably wasn't meant to be, and something better waits for us! well done with the exercise, I haven't been doing anything for a while now, I'm spending every free hour finishing my application, I don't like being away from exercising for so long, because I know it's going to make it that much harder to get back....

My fiance and I had our final meeting with the parish counselor. It was a preparation requirement for our church. We've been deemed eligible to marry! lol Not that they could tell us not to, but if we have different feelings on a lot of different aspects of our lives they would encourage us to try to work things out prior to getting married. We did well though. Next thing on the list is to meet with our priest for our more marriage preparation and formation. I'm looking forward to this. I really love our parish priest and anytime we get to meet with him is always wonderful.


After our meeting we went to Pizza Hut for lunch. I'm very proud of myself. I didn't get the lunch buffet! I also stayed away from the salad bar because I knew it would just be extra calories. I would have loaded my salad with all the goodies, and also got some goldfish crackers and chocolate pudding. So glad I chose not to get it! Instead I ordered a pepperoni p-zone with some marinara dipping sauce. It was 960 calories. That leaves me 540 for dinner and a snack later tonight. I also stuck with water at lunch. Saves money and calories!


I guess I'm feeling a little confused and I hope some of you can help me out a little bit. I had been eating between 1200-1500 cals a day. My maintenance level is around 2000 a day. Do you think it would be better for me to stick to 1500 cals a day and then try to burn additional calories through exercise or still eat between 1200-1500 AND also incorporate my exercise? I don't want my body to go into starvation mode and I wasn't sure if eating 1200 calories and exercising could cause that.


Oh, and I just checked my grades for this semester, I cranked out 4 more A's. One more semester left before I graduate, hoping to keep my 4.0 the whole way!

Today has been a good day. I woke up about 9:30 and headed to the gym. Didn't feel like running today so I hopped on the elliptical for close to 30 mins (It said I burned 200 cals, but I don't trust those numbers.) Then I got on the bike and rode 2 miles if I remember right. Finished up with a little weights, but not too much. I had realized I forgot to put on deodorant before leaving, so I decided to leave earlier than I planned because I didn't want people to think I stunk! lol And believe me I did! ICK!


Lunch-four fish filets- 480 cals


Dinner- baked potato and plain crispy chicken sandwich from Wendy's-690 cals


Also had two cookies. One was a sugar cookie the other an m&m cookie.


Pretty sure I attained 1500 calories and probably a little bit over. It is the holidays though and I just couldn't resist those cookies. :)


Nothing else for me tonight, except water! I'm so happy tomorrow if Friday, the weekend is going to be so much fun.
