Ahhhh, but see...you will. I thought I'd never get here, but I did. And you will too. You are already more than ten percent of the way there. Persistence, determination and consistency. These are the things that will keep you rolling the rest of the way there. And we are all going to be here each step of the way until you get there!!!!!
 
As long as you are happy and comfortable with your style, you should let it shine. I had occasionally purple hair in high school, and it was a blast. It's hard to pull that kind of thing off when you turn into a 30-something suburban mom - LOL. Enjoy being young and wild, and just be yourself. :D

BTW - I wore an 80's blazer with rolled up sleeves and held my drumsticks in one of my senior photos. (1990) I think it was the picture I really looked best in, because I was the most comfortable, just being me.

I think that you should wear your style and be proud. The only reason other kids would have a problem with it is because they are too busy being sheep and insecure to show their true personalities through their style. Good on you for doing something that reflects who you are!


Oh yea and congrats to you for your win in the challange as well as all the other participants.
 
Oh yea...I forgot to add something about your sleeping issues.

Do you snore at night time??? Just curious.

Anyways I know what you mean about always being tired. I can go to sleep on friday at 4pm and sleep threw all the way until sunday night (well I wake up to pee but that's it). and I'd still be tired.

I'm in a constant state of being tired...My doctor told me I have sleep Apnea...so your best bet is to just go see a doctor about your sleeping issues.

My tiredness and lack of energy has gotten worse in the past week. I have been putting off the Y because I can't even get off of the couth without feeling exhausted. I hope this goes away soon.

As for snoring... I really don't know. I kind of sleep away from the family and they say they have never heard me snore, but I'm sure it's possible.

Hey, Nightporter. Maybe you should go see the Dr. Could be a virus of some sort or anything. I'm just tired because I am big, old and fat :)

Don't stress about the kids. In a few years you won't even remember most of them. Just be yourself. While they are our making fun of people about how they look you will be experiencing yourself in your full glory! I think you are fabulous and very mature for your age!

I am very nervous that David Sylvian may have seen it because there is a lot of Fangirlyness in some parts, and he hates that kind of thing!! I'm just crossing my fingers!! Hmm... Whadd I eat t'day?

Brekky- 2 eggs with mexicheese

Lunch- Low carb yogurt (I don't really think it's as low carb as it says...)

Dinner- Hardee's burger

Snack- Deviled eggs.

I am kind of stuck... Lately, besides the fatigue and junk, I have been thinking about food constantly. I was able to ward it off my managing my site, playing bass, and working out- But even when I'm doing something that requires a lot of concentration like music- I am obsessing over the food I will eat and I find I am constantly hungry. My father says I'm not losing weight because I eat too much and he is right. I used to eat too much carbs, but now I just stuff myself with diet food! It is driving me crazy- I though I had beat this obsession but old habits die hard.

Tomorrow I am going to try to eat a normal breakfast, normal lunch, and normal dinner- No snacking!! :)

I am also worried about school- There is nothing but junk food in the cafeteria so I never eat, and I just ate when I got home. But now since I have the "Worst parking space" (Long story :) ) It will be until about 4 or 4:30 until I show up at the Y. Then about 6 or 6:30 till I get home. I'm not sure if I can go so long without eating. I figure I could just skip lunch and eat breakfast and dinner- But I will kill myself on those treadmils with an empty belly. I have already contemplated the possibility of bringing a lunch- but based on my calculations, that will be near impossible. So, I am wondering: Should I eat a huge breakfast? Should I drink a lot of water during the day? Any help will be appreciated!!

I know you're trying to eat Atkins...but do you think if you threw a starchy food into your diet like every four days that might help. Maybe all this craving and thinking about food is your body trying to tell you that it really needs something that you're not giving it.

And I seriously think you need to ask your doctor to test your thyroid. Don't forget okay? We're all concerned about ya.

Hey n. I havent heard from ya and just thought I would stop by. Yea the atkins is a tough on. me I couldnt have any carbs at all. Maybe thats why I didnt stay on it long. Hope everything works out for you.........

I just went out to buy my retro clothes for school and I look horrible. I should have just stuck to hoodies and flares because I look so so fat and horrible in the New Wave style. I was very dissapointed. I must have spent over 150 dollers today for clothes that make me look like a fat, short, business man!!

I just need to lose weight faster and work out harder. I am going to try and restrict my carbs to ten a day or less. Hopefully that may even help!!

Wow! You created that site? Are you Silver Moon? That place is great. I hope the musicians that you have dedicated the site to appreciate it. What a splendid tribute to them. Where can I listen to some of their music online?

When you go back to school, I would definitely eat a big breakfast, but take food with you. Don't ever let yourself get hungry. You are just telling your body to store fat when you do that. Keep snacks and water on hand. Get some jerky or something to carry in your school bag.

OK....I SERIOUSLY doubt you look like a fat, short business man. You are just fatigued. Maybe you don't eat often enough. Is that possible? Try to eat a bit throughout the day. Have some snacks--pre measured and an allotted amount of calories, of course.

Why did you decide to do Atkins? How far into it are you? Maybe you should try something else. I decided I was not going to do anything that I could not do for the rest of my life as I don't want to gain the weight back once I lose it. Would you be able to do Atkins the rest of your life? Just some food for thought so to speak :)

good for you granola bars, zip lock bags of your favorite cereal, cheese cubes, will all keep well in your bag.. and take no time to eat... loading up witha big breakfast will probably make you tired, then you'll crash halfway thru the day if you don't get food... you want to keep your self going... and nourished..

Hopefully I will be able to bring enough without the need to tote around a giant square lunchbox till kingdom come... Thanks!!

Me too, Pineola. :)

Nightporter, whatever you decide to do, just know that losing the weight does not have to be hard. Your body needs a certain amount of fuel to maintain its size. You just have to consume less than that - no matter what you are eating - to lose weight. Of course, eating a balanced diet is much healthier than eating a diet composed only of hot fudge sundaes, but if you ate fewer hot fudge sundaes than it took to maintain your weight, you would still lose weight. ;)

Don't forget to roll up the sleeves of your suit jacket. That's how we did it in the 80's! And, you have to master the French roll at the bottom of your jeans. Fold them over tight at your ankle, then roll up twice to make a skinny cuff. :D

I know it is very hard to do Atkins, and I have even asked myself the same question!! I guess the reason I do it is because it's the only diet I have ever known for anyone I knew to have a signifigant weight loss. My parents lost 50 pounds each in 6 months and that was without excersize. But something terrible happened and we had to move to this craphole in Pennsylvania. We had to live with my gramma and she NEVER let us eat good food. She stuffed us with carbs because she believed the diet was bad. The first time I got on the scale at her house it sid I weighed 120- I was in sixth grade and I cried and I cried! Of course my parents gained back about 75 pounds each!! But now, since we have moved back to our home town- I still kept gaining weight and so did my family. But now my father and I are on the diet, and he is now 50 pounds lighter then his highest in PA. My mother however does not want to diet at all, and does absolutely no excersize so she keeps getting bigger. She's extremely stubborn so the more you ask her to, the more she won't budge. But hopefuly it will work for my father and I!!!

Also, I weighed myself yesterday and I am back down to 207. After the challenge (I don't know why, I didn't slack off!) I got up to 212 and 213, but then I got on the scale and It said 206.9 then 207.1 So I was a bit relieved!!!

Oh yes- for the suit jackets, and pants, I've got that covered!! I even have some rubber bands to keep my floppy sleeves rolled up!!

And I've said it before on this forum, but if one thing isn't working for you and you're not getting the results you expect.....you've got to shake it up...maybe try something different.
