Newbie, looking for a New Me

Limited - the place is called Bocktown Beer and Grill. Just a local joint. I've heard of Boston's but none around here. You salad sounds good. Guac is ok, but high in cals, but loaded with good fats.

Boston's is a very good place there not local so if your ever out and find one...Stop by there main thing is Sports and Pizza haha But I LOVE the salad! 1 cup of Guacamole has roughly 370 calories. I normal have 1/2 cup about so roughly 200 calories, is that bad?
 
Ooooh your salad sounds like it was awesome!! And I have been wanting to try a cycling/spin class forever but I am too shy to go by myself! How long was it? What did you do in it?

I'm sure your weigh in for this week is going to be awesome!


And I loveeee me some guacamole. Avocados...Mmmmm.
 
Dawn - the spin class was neat. you cycled the whole time apprx 45 min. You stood, sat, turned up the tension to simulate a hill climb, sprinted etc. There was music and a trainer leads it. i was by myself and a bit nervous, but it went great. you sweat... A lot. When I came home and put it into the nutrition site for my gym it said I burnt 600 cals. Not bad for 45 min of work.

Limited -Avocados are good for you, they are a healthy oil. You do have to be careful of what the restaurant may add to it and you wouldn't want to eat a ton because it is calorie dense, but if you are eating it with a salad you should be ok.

Ended up walking with a neighbor for 90 min tonight. Still hoping for a great WI, but i've got to lose the fluid. It's hot and humid here, not helping and dinner was a bit salty.

Hey BDM, sorry I haven't been by in a while, I was sick, then I was helping my sister clean and paint her new house. We are still painting it. It is a big house, so we are going to be painting for a while...

Sounds like you have been doing great, keep up the good work!
 
Dawn - Sunday was great. I lazed around most of the day reading. It felt good to do that.

Funmom -that is a big project with all that painting, hope it goes quickly, but just think of th exercise you're getting in. I need to pop by your thread as well.

Tomorrow is D-day and I make my "offical" once a week WI. I'm hoping for a decent loss. I've been working very hard to get one.

Tonight is yoga, so I will be getting in some exercise with that. This afternoon DD and I did a bunch of walking a the mall, getting a BD present for my niece.

I tried yoga once and I was surprised at what a great workout it was. Also surprising was how not flexible I actually am lol. Have fun!

WI - went well. From last Tues I lost 1.2, but from Friday's WI, I'm up a tad. I'm leaving my ticker until Friday, so it stays consistent. I was hoping to be at Friday's weight today, but I guess the trifle got to me. LOL

I'm shooting for 2 down by next Tuesday, wish me luck.

I did make it to the gym today, only I could not WO as long as I would have liked. Too many things on my plate today.

DD had band practice, I had a Eye Dr. appt and I had to hit the grocery. I also did a few loads of laundry in there, so all in all, not a bad day.

Tonight is yoga again so I'll have more exercise to add in there.

Haha that darn trifle! You will totally do 2 down by Tuesday, I know it!

After errands I'm usually so exhausted that it feels like a workout all on its own!

Dawn - I'm on my way, I was back to my ticker today, so down about 1 already. Now I just have to keep it.

Yoga was great. Now I have to do something today as it is not a gym day.
 
Limited - it took a while, but what seemed to help was posting on other diary's and giving Rep. I'm headed over to see what you've been up to.

Hi Dawn - thanks for stopping by. Ending up taking a good walk yesterday.

Today I hit the gym, totally awesome WO and I picked up a new HRM before I went. My old one bit the dust and it was driving me crazy not having one.

Breakfast today was Oatmeal w/2 tsp PB, 1/2 scoop protein powder and 1 T ground flax seed.

Snack was a banana, string cheese and some cashews.

Lunch after the gym was Cinnamon Harvest Cereal w/skim milk and then a bit of milk, 2 strawberries a TBS of protein powder whrrred together for a mini smoothie.

Dinner will be grilled turkey breast, mashed potatoes and corn

I have a walk with a friend planned for tonight.
 
You have been doing so great with your eating. Good job with your walks and going to the gym. I have been having issues being motivated to workout for the last few days. I think it is the heat. What time do you go for your walks? Do you go later in the evening when it has cooled down some?
 
Funmom - yes, my walks are generally after dinner. Cooler by a bit, but not much this week. Gym is during the day. Do you have a dog? I usually take mine for a walk, good incentive for me, but I don't do it enough.

We walked for about 75 min tonight. Felt great, because we walked and talked and the time just flew by.
 
75 Minutes! Thats a long walk!

Sounds like things are going great. I like to walk my dogs, but I have 2, a little one and a bigger one, the bigger one is dragging me down the street while the little one is crying and begging me to pick him up and they always try to rip me in 2 different directions...doesn't make it the easiest to walk with!

What kind of dog do you have?
 
I was walking last night at the track with a friend, so the talking made the time go by quickly.

Dawn - I have a German Shepherd. Biggest baby you'd even want to see.

I'm thrilled, the scale is looking nice, but I'm worried. I have a BD dinner for my niece tomorrow night and since both kids will be gone tonight DH talked about going to dinner. I'd love to go to dinner with him, but my weekend keep killing all the work I do all week. GRRRRR :banghead:

I've looked up the menu for where he wants to go. Lots of salads on there, but I'm getting tired of getting a salad every time I go out. I've got to do some serious planning on how to work around this.

I've been doing a lot of cleaning today, so no official WO yet, but I'm keeping moving.
