New beginnings, new journey

Hellooooooo!!!! Finally made it to our holiday destination after the worst drive ever, drove through two MASSIVE thunderstorms (husband was freaking out thinking we were going to get struck by lightning- we saw a tower right next to us get struck as we were driving passed!!) No drama, it's just so boring!!! And straight... and flat... and looooooooong. I hate road trips!!! All checked in, had our complimentary drinks and I am tipsy as seeing it's been around 5 hours since I last ate... lol. And I'm a lightweight!! Our room is beautiful, it's just a studio apartment. Really nice though, huge tv!!! And... the bathroom is a room as big as the main room!!! Got a HUGE bath!! Also we have our own courtyard with deck chairs and a drink table. It's really humid here too, really want to jump in the pool....!!! I'm in the room with Ash though, he's had a random amount of money taken off his credit card so he's stuck on hold with the bank trying to figure out what it is. 20mins and counting...


Did a healthy shop as soon as we got here, for lunches etc (breakfast is included every day with our room) including wholemeal bread, smoked salmon, cottage cheese, pre-sliced cheese, tomatoes, cucumber, extra light cheese and cracker snacks. So healthy lunches and snacks!! I also packed Larabars, planning on being healthy(ish) for the next 5 days!!!! Booked the dinner that came with the room- OMG apparently it is a 7 (as in SEVEN) course meal (um, eek? How can I possibly eat that much??) with a glass of wine each. Booked that in for Friday- also having our massage tomorrow just after 1pm.


Sorry if I'm rambling lol, I don't do well after alcohol!!


Todays intake:

Breakfast: 2 pieces of toast with cinnamon raisin swirl peanut butter

Snack: Peanut butter cookie Larabar

Lunch: Sandwich slices with vegemite

Snack: 1 row raw dark peppermint chocolate, glass of sparkling wine

Dinner (haven't had it yet): 4 slices of pizza


Exercise: None... not really planning on doing any either. So there!!!


Total deficit for the day: 930cals
 
Yum, pizza was SO GOOD!!! It's been so long since I've had pizza that wasn't homemade or frozen. Mine was pretty good, had a thin crust pizza with spinach, mushrooms, fresh tomato, garlic, parmesan with white sauce... was only like 105cals a slice. Saving the rest for dinner tomorrow, might have it with the bottle of champagne that came with the room :hurray: In other news... after drinks when we went to our room there was a massive thunderstorm, and there's thunderstorms forecast for the next 5 days... so for our whole stay lol. I'm not TOO worried, it doesn't get cold here with the rain... and the storms clear up pretty quickly and then it's hot and sunny again (till the next one!) Really hoping I'll get a beach walk in tomorrow morning, the beach here is spectacular!! (Think I have pics of it further back in my diary).
 
Heh, storms are pretty cool, when you're not outside! That sounds pretty friggin' scary.. I would probably need a change of pants if I saw lightening strike so close! Bar the weather, it all sounds absolutely stunning.. I am beyond jealous! And pizza too.. you're killing me here! :D


Make sure you get plenty of pictures for me to sulk over! haha, nah, really, glad you're having such a wonderful time! Good luck getting the beach walk, and I hope the storms bugger off soon!

Having a nice quiet day today!! Got up and had brekki, and managed to get a beach walk in. Started raining after we got to the car so we just missed the rain, lol! Did a little bit of shopping, then went to a cafe down the road and I had a cup of green tea... came back for lunch, and we have our massage in about half an hour. Don't really have anything planned for the rest of the day!!


Todays intake:

Breakfast: Omelette with goats cheese, ham and herbs (guessing around 450 cals?)

Snack: Choc chip brownie Larabar, green tea

Lunch: 4 slices pizza leftover from last night

Snack: Sandwich with cottage cheese, tomato, cucumber. A humpty easter egg (oops)

Dinner: 2 wraps with cheese and smoked salmon

2nd dinner (double oops): Large chips from McD's and a McFlurry


Exercise: About 50mins walking


Total deficit for the day: -764cals
 
Had such a nice day today!! It stayed sunny all day (until an hour ago, there's a big thunderstorm happening right now). Had breakfast and went for a beach walk this morning, then pretty much spent the entire day by the pool. I tried to keep up with the sunscreen but still managed to burn my face a bit. Did I mention I wore my bikini in public? Yesterday and today? Lol!! First time ever!!


Todays intake:

Breakfast: 2 hard poached eggs with 2 fingers of Turkish bread, half a cooked tomato, and a pastry thing filled with pumpkin and spinach (was pretty small)

Snack: Small fruit n veg juice

Lunch: Seafood sushi, 8 pieces

Snack: A huge glass of sparkling wine

Dinner: Grilled wild caught barramundi and a garden salad with French dressing


Exercise: 30min beach walk


Total deficit for the day: 796cals
 
Your food is actually sounding really nom, and mostly very healthy! With exercise as well.. psh! Willpower woman!

And congratulations on finally wearing the bikini in public haha, did you feel exposed or just proud of yourself in general?
 
Been pretty bad yesterday and today, haha. Hating that it's the last night of our holiday here!!! Absolutely do NOT want to go back to that awful job and all the awful people there and that stupid awful town I have to live in for another 17 months (yes, we are counting!)


Yesterday and today it's been raining the whole time, there's a tropical low moving down the coast and causing non stop rain and thunderstorms... yay. So we've been in our awesome little suite watching movies and playing with our laptops. It's been nice though!! Eaten a heap of Easter eggs and chips and have consumed WAY too much coke zero. I guess there's still 3 days left of hols so I can pretty much break even by the time I go back to work, I guess only gaining a kg (or staying the same) while on holidays is pretty decent.


Arrrrrrrrrrrrrghghghgh have I mentioned how much I don't want to go back? Wade is hating it as much as us too, he isn't on a contract though and now that he's been here for 6 months he's going to try to transfer back home again. This place really is that bad!!

Actually wearing my bikini in public was a lot scarier thinking about it, when I actually did it I didn't give it a second thought. I actually didn't feel self concious, I just didn't really care! Just had to get myself to do it!!!


Back at our house, drove back to reality yesterday... back to work tomorrow, boo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Back to getting up at 4am every morning... I came home yesterday feeling insanely MASSIVE and decided to jump on the scales this morning, nowhere near as bad as I thought. Actually I was expecting it to be awful and it wasn't, lol. Not going to post a weight till Thu though, going to get into a really healthy kick. Giving up gluten this month, and going to try to cut my dairy right down... Not going to be too worried about that right now though, I think I'll give up dairy properly the month after so just going to focus on no gluten for now. Also no coffee!! Been coffee free for almost a fortnight now!!!!


Did a heap of shopping, got some baking ahead of me this afternoon. Actually wasn't so bad food wise the last couple days, 500cal deficit yesterday and the day before. Been really good today too, I went for a walk this morning- saw a huge freakin scorpion!!!

Snack: Choc chip cookie dough Larabar

Lunch: Sunflower seed slices with cheese, tomato, cucumber

I'd kill to be in those digits, and written down it doesnt seem like much longer to me, but when I've lived the last few years of my life between 150-170 it seems like Im stuck. your journal helps to show me im not, so thanks! also, i read and read and maybe its in another journal, sorry if i missed it - but how tall are you?

Had a really good n healthy day today, first day back at work too which sucked a bit. I'm working the rest of the week (weekend included). Not sure about next week, Mon is a public holiday so I might have it off, I'll work it if I can though for the penalty rates!!

Breakfast: 50g oats, cooked in water with a banana, some vanilla essence and cinnamon

Snack: Choc chip brownie Larabar

Lunch: Sunflower seed slices with cheese, tomato, cucumber

Snack: Homemade gluten free walnut bread

Snack: 2 slices home made spinach toast with 2 hardboiled eggs and tomato

Dinner: Slow cooked chicken breast in honey soy marinade

Your food always sounds so yummy, my lovely. Jealous! Sunflower seeds are my favourite thing right now. I can eat like a pack a day! Love them toasted as well. Good luck today :D

Jealous.. I'm sure your weight carries nicely at that height, my weight just makes me look shorter and pudgier blah! I saw your pics, you are so pretty! Also, I noticed you mostly walk for a good while nowadays, but when you were dropping weight, what were you doing for exercise? Was it mostly walking as well? And how fast do you walk!? I'm incorporating running back into my world, but I hate it. Maybe one day I'll learn to love it and run a marathon, but for now I want to die every time I run a little mile. Maybe I'll remain consistent if I stick to walking too!


And for the calories each day, I see the deficit, but do you know how much you consume on average a day? sorry for so many questions!! I'm always looking for other alternatives that have given other gals success! :biggrin:
