nataliejo's diary: Moving, flowing, grooving forward... change is coming...

Hello a-n-g-e-l!! Hello Everyone!!

Well today was a horrible eating day, but I am ready to seriously do this. I am up to 286.8 pounds. Not going to weigh myself until my weigh in day this time, just wanted to check.

But I actually took a 35 minutes walk in the blizzard today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:party::party::party:
I was walking through one inch of snow on the side walks and had to cross on the cross walks, people actually stopped. It was straining, my body hurt really bad...but this is good ... I just kept moving fast and I knew I was doing something good, healthy for my body. I am doing this because I want to be healthy...

I had a convo with myself while walking and one of the things I asked myself is

"Why am I doing this during this blizzard. I am so wet. This is crazy!"

and than I answered myself "because I want to be healthy!"

I am doing it, not just to be thin, but to be healthy and thats the truth. Yea I hate the way my body looks, but it is looking better...and I will continue on this journey and lose weight and become the person on the outside I have always wanted to be ..and I am dedicated to this hard core. I know what I want and I am going to take it. ITs all mine!! lol :)

So tonight is another night, another night to do better with my eating, another night to use the weight bench to build strong muscles, another night to try to not eat in the middle of the night. And I am going to beat this. I am not going to eat tonight. I am going to stick to it and not let this weight control me. I am destined for greatness, sometimes I will fall back, maybe gain a few pounds back during Aunt Flo's uncontrollable chocolate need, but I will work hard to resist that chocolate, avoid my mother's work ... where you can have as much Godiva as you want. I don't even like Godiva, but I just crave treats, and sometimes, lately, I have been having too many treats, but I am only going to my mother's once a week now. And not at all this week, because Thursday I am going out to Boston Ma...and I am going to meet with Alex and see his new guinea pigs... he is a true friend... I am excited to see him again and his little baby guinea pigs and I am happy he truly, so desperately wants me to visit ... And I get to visit my sister the same day. We are going to walk the Minute Men trail and walk to Alex's. Have some tea at her house and just chill, and than I head home at night on the bus from South Station ..

I am so excited ...this week coming up is my last classes ..and than I am free to do whatever I want until September 2008 ..

well ... I am so excited ... I want to and am going to go out tomorrow, with my boots on and walk, bundled up, for 45 minutes, yea!! I am so ready to take this on!!

Hey peeps...
I walked for 45 minutes total!!but I went flying down for the count on a sidewalk thick with ice and dripping water from the roof. It was hard walking over snow mounds and what not, but the sidewalks were ok. My heart rate was at a small quickened pace, but than it would slow down. My feet and ankles were in so much pain!! so I slowed down a bit. The stairs next to the city hall building were actually cleared off four once ..lol

So I walked down the stairs very carefully...and ended up down by the post office... I walked a total of 45 minutes, like I said. I am going to buy a rain coat next month, which starts in ten days ... or eleven for me, because thats when I get my check ...

I am looking forward to walking in the rain too lol :)

well ttylater

hey well done!!! you have got loads of walking done in the last 2 days! :hurray:

keep it up!!!

have fun walking in the rain...:D

p.s have fun in thursday

Bravo to you for braving the elements!! :hurray:

Sometimes that extra challenge of the weather can make exercising outside all the more fun - I used to jog daily when I was a senior in high school and I would do it no matter what it was doing outside - probably part of the reason I weighed like 135lbs!!! But I found that on days when the weather was crap, it was kinda more fun to exercise because you were going that "extra mile". So have fun and enjoy the weather!! :)

Hi Natalie,
I haven't spoken to you in a while so I do aplogize! Just looking back at the last few posts about how much walking you have been doing - absoloutly fantastic, especially a walk in weather so bad. You sound so determined so good on you. I see your ticker is at a 15lb loss which is brilliant aswell - if you were in the UK you would be celebrating having lost over a stone. Anyway, I hope you are well - best of luck for the comming week X

And I am going for breakfast and lunch with my sister... I am so excited, but now I have a paper to write for Wed. So time for book work once again!! lol
and yes the walks are wonderful. I enjoyed today's walk better, because it was less ice on the sidewalks and it was royally sunny...so beautiful at 38 degrees!! Very nice for a winter day!! :hurray:

I hope you are feeling better hun...

Hey you...
A stone huh.. I bet I would prefer weighing myself in stones, than in pounds lol But I have to make due ... Its a tough thing, when you are depressed, and than you want to walk, and than you decide you must walk...

but I just step out that door and know when its time to walk...and I do it... which is nice.. I always end up outside rather than pouting inside lol

Healthy way to go!!

And I am determined!! :iagree: I feel like I need to do this for me.. I am important and this is a very important project I have embarked on...but now I have a paper to write lol about the difference I have decided between stories in the Koran to stories in the King James Bible...

it will be fun!! I do like school, even though I complain once in a while! lol

Hey everyone!! Well I did 45 Minutes!! again, and much faster!! my heart was racing, my heartbeat should drop down to the fifties again hopefully!! So I am happy people are filtering into my diary, holds me accountable and its nice to see all of you!!

I am writing my paper on the differences between Noah, Joeseph, and Jonah in the King James Bible and the Koran. They are both very different. I love that Jonah was swallowed by a whale ...lol ... I love stories like that or this ...

I will enjoy reading the King James Bible!! Should be interesting!!

Anyway the walk was nice, sidewalks were clear in some spots, had to pull up my pants when I stepped into the puddles, which I couldn't seem to avoid ...
so ... I made it that far ..it was a wonderful winter day, but we are getting snow on Tuesday and light snow on Wed. I will be walking Tuesday ..and probably wed, depends on if its rain or snow. Snow is ok..it is slippery and will be hard to decipher where the ice is that has been covered, but its all good ... and I will pass on Wed possibly because it might rain, but it only says a few snow showers ..so most likely I will do my 45 minute walk.. looking forward to getting my rain gear!! This spring I have a feeling I will need it!!
well ttylater

Congrats on all the walking! I did a meandering forty-five minutes in a botanical garden today, which I'm not really counting as exercise (my elliptical later will be that), but it was nice not to be inside sitting on my ass on a gorgeous, warm spring day (sorry, don't mean to rub the weather thing in--in summer you'll be laughing at me as I swim in 95% humidity!).

:seeya:Hi, NJ
Good on ya for all the walks you've been getting in! They will pay off. It is good that you are also conscious about when you've been having a few treats too many; being aware is key!

Did you know that there are many *easier* versions of the Bible to read than the KJV (King James Version)? I prefer the NIV (New International), though the easiest to understand, most conversational type is called The Message. However, it is not overly accurate in its translations from the Greek and Hebrew. The NIV would be a safe bet, though. Glad you are enjoying your studies!

Take care, my friend

Thats a lot of humidity .. I will be bike riding mostly during the summer ...with walking four times a week or five times ... and bike riding the rest of the week ... ninety degree days will be bike riding .. I plan to buy this certain material t shirts ...that are used specifically for cycling ... so I plan to buy those in April ...

But .... the botanical garden sounds wonderful!!

good on you for getting on the machine .. I don't know if I would be able to do the elliptical machine! lmao

Hey Janice..
thanks for stopping in ..
I have been not so aware of the food thing .. or maybe thinking about food too much ..been binging for the past half of the month and gained five pounds of the nine I lost back ..or about that ..plan to weigh myself tomorrow morning and give my weight on my weight loss birthday challenge .. I hope to be close to 265 by October .. I know I can do it ..it can just be so difficult when you are down for the count .. I have been depressed ..but I am getting the stamina back ..been walking ..but the food intake has been bad ...

I will not eat tonight after eight pm ..
I am going out to eat tonight for Salads at UNOS .. I haven't been there forever .. I hope they have the grilled or steak ceaser salad ..thats my favorite salad ..with a slice of garlic bread ..hmm ...

salad will do me good ... after what I have been devouring lately ...

but I am going walking tomorrow possibly ..but it is supposed to rain .. I plan to buy a rain jacket in March ..so I can walk during the rain ...

No Binging tonight! I am doing it!!

Hello everyone,
I am feeling better. I went to out tonight and ate a burger and some ice scream and I feel good...

Sure I broke the diet, but sometimes you have to get out. I didn't walk today, my arms haven't been able to stretch out, because I worked the bench too hard this past week ...

Tonight is a new night, a night not to binge. I have been reading my food addiction book ...and I am feeling better. I shared dessert with mom and I didn't even finish my dinner. I talked so much that I didn't eat, I had so much to say. I have been depressed for the past February. But I talked things out with my mom... and I feel much better. I feel like I can do this. And I only have gained two pounds back. Now I plan to work at losing it. I have been walking, but my binging has made me gain. But now .. I am dedicated to losing this for me, and my health...

I need this, want this, will do this, am doing it.

Tomorrow I go hiking ... I am looking forward to it .. will only be a couple hours, but well worth it ..

Hey Sarah,
I need to stop by your diary lmao ... Your so kind to stop by mine! I love it when you visit. lol Yea I was determined last night. I ate a few pieces of pretzels, but realized something, too much sodium, will make water weight higher. So I had a yogurt, yoplait vanilla. It was yummy! And thats all I ate last night. I realized something ..the pretzels aren't such a good idea. Something small sometimes, but just too much sodium...so I weighed in at 281.4...finally down to what I was on Feb 14th ...back to nine pounds down ... time to move on to the next seven pounds... to 275!!:hurray:

Thanks for your support hun

Feeling much more determined. Entering my info in my Birthday Challenge ..

Hello everyone,
Well I did it!! I lost to 281.4 ..back down nine pounds since Jan third.

Time to move on to my next goal ..which is 275 pounds. I weigh in Every Tuesday ..so I will report next Tuesday at what I am at. I will probably be at 281.0...but hey ..its another four oz ... lol

Go ME!! lol :hurray::hurray::hurray:

and no more sodium filled pretzels ..because it was such a sharp drop so fast ..mom thinks it was all the pretzels that were my problem ... the sodium is troubling and my blood pressure has been high ..

so back to caffiene free tea ..and I have a gallon of water in the fridge for just drinking water... forgot or didn't want to make ice cubes ...so its in the fridge .. maybe I will make ice .. I like my tea in ice too!! hmm ..its so yummy coolled off ... good idea!! Make it really yummy .. I am drinking Mango caffiene free tea ... I might pick up some mango green tea and try it out ..they have so many green tea flavors ..may be a good investment ..

what do you think?

well ttylater all
and today I am going to go hiking ..either around the city or hiking near the moutain ..

love yas all :party::party::party:
