~* My Tutti Frutti Progress Thread *~

Hey Risty,

Yeh I know it's beneficial still :) and I can actually feel that I'm more toned up now... which feels good.

I know I don't post every day at the mo but it's because things are so hectic!! This week I've tried really hard on the diet front and done my two classes (Bums and Tums, and Step). The weekend I slipped up a couple times - Friday night I had a few drinks, but made sure to stick to spirits and avoid wine/sugary drinks, Saturday I did very well in the morning (avoiding the greasy hangover food and coke my friends were going for and sticking to water and a banana!) only to have a moment of weakness in the evening and eat three slices of garlic bread I was offered at work!! But got straight back on the straight and narrow with a sensible dinner and carried on quite well yesterday.

Weighing in today at 185.4lbs so a slight loss... trying to think positive as like Risty says, I may have gained a bit in muscle plus I know I'm retaining water at the mo because of my monthlys.

I'm still rooting for myself to reach 182lbs... gonna work hard this week and try my best to get there! I'm finding my weightloss has felt very slow and frustrating, so reaching the first big milestone will hopefully give me a boost/help keep me motivated.

Thanks Trusylver, yeh it's not the easiest to keep on the straight and narrow, my alcoholic friends try their best to lead me astray! :D

Just a quick hi to all before I head off to work - did my bums and tums last night which felt pretty good. We actually hung around for a few minutes to watch a bit of the cardio kick class straight after and it doesn't look too strenuous so we are thinking we might try doing both one after another next week!! (Might be the first and last time but hey, we'll give it a go!)

So far so good on the food front this week - then again it's only Tuesday morning. :D

I think it's a good idea to try it back to back! If you can't make it through the class well, at least you tried! Also, if you realize you like it then you can alternate going to the one class for a couple weeks and then the next for a couple weeks just to change it up and workout a little differently. Would be good for the body! Or if the classes are on different days of the week as week you could do them both!
 
I love the classes too because they really push me. There is no way I would work that hard by myself. I had a friend going with me and that really encouraged me but since she stopped going I have to which totally stinks! I need to find my own motivation to make it on my own. Good work and I know if you keep at it you will reach your first goal! Keep it up!
 
Classes are soo good for me - I used to go to this amazing dance-aerobics class when I lived away, and it was like learning a high energy routine for the whole hour. Even the step classes involved learning a routine - I find that keeps me interested and I definitely wouldn't work that hard alone...

aah well done on managing the bums and tums classes....I love them but the one I have here near my uni, the repition KILLS me and I want to collapse by the end!!

Risty, chubbygirl, sweet tooth, thanks for the support! I am finding the classes great - being part of a group with a strict instructor keeps me working hard :) my friend cant always make it but I dont find it hard to make myself go as I actually really enjoy them, so the motivation is there thankfully!!

Last night I went to an extra bums and tums class, which felt good to know I was doing something extra. I am getting a membership class which means I can go to unlimited classes for the monthly fee - as I am paying more than the membership at the mo to pay for them all individually!! Step tonight and I might go to an extra one tomorrow. I'm really enjoying going, and can feel a huge difference in my (poor aching!) muscles now.

Today I weigh in at 183.8lbs. I'm getting so close to my first goal (182) that I just desperately want to see it there on the scale!!!! :banghead: I know I'm still making progress though, hopefully it's just a matter of days now if I keep up the exercise. Maybe by Friday or Sunday??!!! FINGERS CROSSED!

Off for another day in paradise at work now... who knew life could be so tiring? ;) :D

I am home from work and here for a couple hours before I set off out again, and desperately trying to avoid the snacking!! I had a couple crumpets with low sugar jam (I eat my proper meal after my class so try to only eat something light to tide me over before I go.

Stepppppp tonight. :) Looking forward to it. xx
 
You are sooo close, you'll definitely see 182 soon! I can't wait until I'm finally in the low 180's as well! I keep hovering around the 187-188's... boo! lol... I know I just need to step it up *sigh* lol.

I can't wait until you hit 182, I'm so excited for you!

Water water water! I know I keep a bottle nearby when the snacking cravings come, and it helps me stave off hunger until meal time comes around.

Actually had to google what a crumpet is. It looks like an english muffin, which would make sense since you're a UK citizen :p

Well, I have a lot of mini goals. My first was to get into the 180's and next it'll be to get into the 170's. But then while I'm waiting to get into the next categeory (ex: the 170's) I have mini mini goals of say.. getting into the mid 180's then work towards the low 180's and then hit the 170's! LOL... It seems less worse when taking it by baby steps like that.
 
Haha, Andy from what I've seen the "English Muffins" they sell in the US is most like a scone here...!! A muffin is kind of different. It's not crumbly it's a spongey consistency, sory of like pancake really. Low in cals and fat though so a good alternative to bread!!

Risty I totally agree... baby steps all the way!!! So much less daunting than thinking to yourself ok 50lbs to go. :)

I have worked really hard this week, with my classes and eating. I'm feeling pretty gutted to be honest though - I weighed myself Friday and yesterday, and I've actually PUT ON a few lbs. Back up to 186.3 now. (On friday I thought it was a fluctuation but nope it was still there yesterday.) I'm thinking because I've been good with the food, and worked out so hard, it must be added muscle or something from the classes. But it's still really dissapointing to see myself further away from my target again. Sigh. This weekend I've given myself a couple days off the exercise as by Friday evening I could barely walk I was hurting so much!! I have also been a bit naughty food-wise; yesterday I was good until the evening when I went to catch up with a friend at her new place. We had jacket potato and salad for dinner so that's fine but then I had a few Cadbury's Chocolate fingers- so addictive!! Didn't let myself get carried away thankfully. :) Stopped after I'd had a few. But today being Mother's Day, we are going to my parents' place for a roast dinner with the family, so I know I will have some roasties and other naughty food! I figure I've worked hard this week, and plan on doing the same starting again tomorrow, so can't be too bad as long as I keep it sensible. Does everyone else have nice plans for today?

The weather here is really starting to look Spring-like - a constant reminder that summer is on it's way along with the skimpy outfits!! :) That is really helping keep me motivated.

Anyway enjoy the rest of the weekend guys and girls. xx
 
Hey all,

Sooo a good couple days. Yesterday I did have some of my mum's roast dinner including roast potatoes and some mash that had butter in, but I stopped at one, sensible sized plate then went for the fruit salad for dessert :) so didn't really fall off the wagon.

Today the food's been good and I've got in some exercise too; two hours of classes, bums n tums and then kick aerobics straight after!! Hardcore lol. It was hard work, I felt I'd well and truly had enough by halfway through the aerobics but managed to get through to the end.

I have a cold :( I feel ok in myself, so it's not too bad, except that I had the worst night's sleep last night because of it. Couldn't breathe, was coughing and spluttering (and apparently making snoring/pig noises when I did doze off!) was awake every 20 mins feeling like it had been hours, was up getting drinks all the time and cough medicine... finally fell into a deep sleep about 45 minutes before the alarm went to get up!! So haven't felt at my absolute best today. I feel for my OH the most though... I'm a deep sleeper so if he's unwell I'm not really affected, whereas he was awake every time I was last night.

Anyhow... I will hopefully sleep better tonight. And will weigh in in the morning. I want soooo badly to be reaching 182 soon, so send positive thoughts everyone! :D

I'm sending some positive thoughts your way too!! Stay away from high sodium foods today and drink lots of water! That should help the scale out a bit. Sucks about the cold - get some rest and take care.
 
I hope you get better soon! I'm glad your cold isn't too bad and hopefully it doesn't get worse! Make sure you rest enough!

Good for you at stopping at one plate, I'm terrible at that. I love seconds. I remember when I lived at my mom's house and we would have pasta for dinner I'd have a huge first plate, then seconds (which would be smaller than the 1st plate) and then "tasters" as I called it. Tasters is that one more scoop of pasta that's only a few bites! I did that everytime. I don't know, I can just eat sooooo much and pasta doesn't make me feel full like it does most people. So I don't cook it often because of that. If I do cook it, I portion it out prior so I don't make enough to have leftovers.
