My slimming journey

I love seeing the outfits for the oscars etc. I haven't seen a lot of the big films yet this year. What have you enjoyed movie wise?

Anna you are so right, those outfits are to die for, not to mention the figures. From what is nominated I loved Silver Linings Playbook, Life of Pi and Argo. Started watching Lincoln but couldn't get into it.....so would have to give it another shot. If a movie doesn't grab me in the first 10 minutes, I stop it and on to the next one. Oh and also enjoyed Skyfall!

Hey Mands - great work on kicking that plateau and reaching your mini goal !
- sorry about your sad anniversary of your puppy passing - 15yrs is a lot of history you had with her - honor the memories and the love , honour and respect your saddness - they are such precious parts of our lives - no creature gives love more unselfishly..

-glad to hear you are rolling with your Cohens' - it is hard work ( I looked a bit on-line- it's really low calorie ) - your dedication and commitment are amzing - keep it rolling Mands... U are doing so amazing ...

Happy Oscars watching tonite ;) - inspiration to get our own waist-lines a bit trimmer...

cheers, Maryann

Tx for the amazing support Maryann! Cohens is a good fit for me as I wouldn't even know where to begin if I have to start counting calories - I take my hat off to all who are counting calories. It's quite confusing but I guess if you in the swing of things it probably becomes second nature.

I'd like to see silver linings notebook, and Argo, haven't got round to it yet.

I'm also sorry about the anniversary of your good dog. I think it's important that we acknowledge these losses and sadnesses in our lives.

My SIL lost about 45 lbs on cohens, and although it isn't for me, I can see how it is effective. She has maintained for about a year now, but had to get some advice from a nutritionist on how to do that. I think she found the refeed (is that what it is called?) quite difficult.

Had a very chillaxing weekend and made good food choices. Not much exercising......

Just finished downloading the Oscars, so gonna get ready to watch. I have done some stomach exercises on our stomach machine as I'm determined to have a six pack by the end of the year. I want a kick ass tummy!!

Hoping for a great weight loss this week as I'm gonna put in the effort to speed up my weight loss. I want that 90kg which is my next mini-goal!

Have a fab week y'all!

Enjoy watching an industry congratulate itself on what a great job it's doing. :D

Good work on the weekend eats and the exercising.

Kalimera!! (Good morning in Greek)

It's a glorious day outside and we are getting ready to go feed the cats. I'm a little disappointed as my weight was up yesterday by 100g and today by 100g. Don't have a clue what's going on and can only think it's because of my inactive bowel movements.

Now I'm sitting here and thinking why is it that I just can't get onto the treadmill that is like 5 metres from me??? I started doing some weights for my arms and some stomach exercises BUT just can't seem to get on the freakin treadmill.

I really need to improve my cardio as I'm so unfit. Where did you guys get the motivation to take that first step to start running or walking?

The Oscars was fab and glad Life of Pi took some awards. Really enjoyed that movie!

Thanx for all the support guys and have a fab day!!!

You just gotta FORCE yourself to do it. However, I always envied the people who went running in morning while I drove past them to work... you just gotta start running!

I got a pedometer for Xmas, and wear to every day. I have found it hugely motivational for getting me up walking when normally I just couldn't be bothered. It's like I can't delude myself about how active I've been.

Lately, I've made my cardio time on the bike a part of my daily activities. I turn on a specific TV show and exercise for the 30 minute duration of the show. I started that last week and have now done a 30 minute ride five straight nights... and I've made each night's ride a little faster, covering more miles, than the night before.

Oh, and I found that the HIIT riding I did has definitely improved my endurance on the regular rides for longer times.

Hey Mands, I watch tv - that gets me through my cardio - otherwise it would be really boring.
If you wanna enjoy cardio join a team - I used to love going to classes - the energy was awesome!

Hi Mands - ...maybe try starting with just some very short sessions... ease into it..easier to get your head around it - ... when I started treadmill- I started reaally gradual - 10mins. at a time...and I had some music I liked on my iphone - so listened to the music -the tempo got my walking pace going... it worked nicely.

Now I have some "broadcasts" downloaded on my phone - fat2fit radio podcasts, jillian michaels' podcasts - lots of "weight loss" podcasts out there...a lot are free downloads too - just "google"...

This past year - got my own treadmill- we have it in the family room- & I watch TV while I go on the treadmill - I get absorbed in the show plot...and the 1/2hr just dissapears...

My most preferred exercise is walking outside, I love the sunshine & fresh air - but I live in Northern Alberta - we have snow/cold for 5 months each year - so 1/2 the year I am having to walk indoors on the treadmill....

I just got back into using my Zumba Dvd this past week - it is fun - really upbeat music - get's u moving - and is a fairly good work out... .

.. best of luck finding what will work for you... - if the treadmill just isn't appealing to ya- U shouldn't have to force yourself... then U won't keep it up in the long run...best to find something you like & enjoy.
