Catastrophe...
So I was at the gym after dinner for about twenty minutes, just doing a quick treadclimber session before heading home from my cousin's house. When I came out, I noticed my back window was busted out. My purse got stolen out of the floorboard of my front seat. (It was a well-lit parking lot and there were plenty of people around. I thought I was safe. Learn from my mistakes, people.)
I called 911, who gave me a number for a cop who never picked up the damned phone. I heard him pick up once, and he hung up on me. Crooked ass lazy cops.
I had everything in that purse. My driver's license, my microchipped civil servant access card for the secret documents I work on, two debit cards, two credit cards, my grotto membership card, my insurance card...everything. Even my best makeup and my favorite chapstick were in there.
The only things that didn't get stolen were my work badge (which means I can still get onto the base, I just can't use the computers...) my zip drive (which contains parts of a 75,000 word novel that I don't have stored anywhere else) and even though they stole my driver's license, I just had it renewed so I'll be getting another one in the mail soon.
I already cancelled my credit cards, and I'm in the process of cancelling my debit cards.
The real kicker is, my purse had no cash in it whatsoever.
There are already two gas station charges on one of the credit cards and another gas station charge on my debit card. I'm going to have to go through days of bureaucratic hell just so somebody could get some free beer and gas.
Damn it.
