My Recovery from Obesity

Haha Don - I call it "Swoosh" Just do it :)

You have an incredible story and I am so proud of your results so far! Like I said in my diary I am very pleased to be sharing our stories! Your losses are impressive! I can see I will definitely be learning from you!

When you say you timed your meals well, do you actually plan a time, or just did good?

hey Don, my username/name is Laura. I have a picture of my full body, attempting to jump after a Color Run....haha!

I'm in the Anti-Jared one. Definitely keeping me motivated =) Apparently, you can join up to 5 at a time, but we'll see....I don't want an addiction to gambling on my weight!!! C'MON! lol

404.8

Knowing that the human body can vary +- 5 pounds you may already be in the 300s! Seriously though you are kicking ass and taking names!!!!

Just got caught up. Sounds like you're doing great! I think that website is a great idea. I really hope you get a share of that pot. I think you can do it. :D

Don good luck on the competition! I'm sure you gonna take the winnings. Can I just say your menu looks really yumm and the omelette is to die for.

Quercus, you're such an optimist! I read that and thought that means I probably weight 410.... Thanks for checking in my friend.

Thank you Cory! I sure hope I win... I want to lose weight AND I want my money back!

Mands, I decided early on to find healthy foods I enjoy so I won't crave foods and feel like I'm "on a diet." Thanks for checking in.

No workout yesterday (on the bike) but I accompanied my 12 y.o. daughter to her club soccer practice and walked the track while she practiced. I got in 2 miles and felt it! Damn, 400 lbs is a LOT to carry around the track. I ate well: small egg/veg scramble @8, apple and banana @noon, Thai Curried Eggplant & Beef @4, and a green salad @7. A little light on water, so I felt and feel now a bit dehydrated.

Weighed 404 even this morning, so I'm down another 0.8 pounds! That's better than a 1 pound per day average this week.

Here comes the weekend.... can I maintain? Can any of us?!

Go you Mr, getting extra walk in!! & check out that weight loss!!! Woohoooo!

Thanks, Justina! Yesterday I mowed my back lawn with a push mower... it's about a quarter of an acre, so that's NO small feat. I haven't done it that way in 2 years...I've been using rider.

Down 0.6 pounds today to 403.4. Ate OK yesterday, a little proteins heavy and water light, but OK.

Today is a challenge... we've been invited to dinner at friends who are sri lankan and they are undoubtedly going to spoil me with delicious salty foods.... must....drink.....water.

You know it! I have my second game starting in 4 days, so if I reach my 4% in ours anti-jared, when I weigh-in for my second game, I'm definitely going to plan ahead for a third!

Excellent job on the weight loss thus far! I can't imagine what 400 pounds really feels like but 2 miles on the track is phenomenal. I'd have to force my lazy ass....really hard.

Mowing the lawn is great exercise. We have two houses, but one of the lawns is just impractical to mow with a push mower. 3 acres is just too much. The other yard is about an acre and set on a hill. My brother and I always feel tuckered by the end of it. It's interesting. I don't think it will feel like such an inconvenience this summer because I'll be thinking about it in terms of the exercise I'll get from it.

Mowing lawn already?? Lucky weather for some! :D Well done on the exercise!

How did you manage the eating out challenge yesterday?

Thanks Steve, Cory and Justina for checking in. Yes we had a flash of good weather so I used it as an opportunity to get some exercise and get the yard cleaned up. It's Spring in Oregon, so you never know what you're going to get for weather from one day to the next.

Sri Lankan (Bengalese) dinner was last night. I ate a big veggie stir fry for breakfast/lunch, then only drank water until dinner to try and minimize the damage. Before going I made the decision and EAT and enjoy myself and repair the effects of good food starting today.

The dinner was simply AWESOME! Little fried fritters made of cooked lentils and herbs, the Bengalese equivalent of tempura fried eggplant slices, a delicious, warm garbanzo bean salad, tuna cakes, curried chicken, and hot lentils served with rice. Oh yeah, and fresh naan bread. OMG, it was heaven. I ate well, enjoyed myself, then came home and went to bed. I awoke this morning DREADING my weigh-in.

When I stepped on the scale, i thought it was broken, so I made my wife weigh herself and check it. She said it was dead-on for her so I tried again.... I weighed 402, which is a loss of 1.4 pounds! Go figure. To be honest, 402 was the highest reading I got. Three or four other measurements were 401.4, but I chose the 402 for fear that tomorrow is going to be a snap back day and I'll weigh 406 or something.

Either way, I can almost smell 399 from here.... :)

How good is it gonna feel when you say I weigh 300 and something, no longer 400 and something!

It'll feel awesome! Unfortunately, it'll have to wait a few days... or a week... as last night was my wife's birthday and I made a dinner that I refused to say "no" to... and as a result I am up 3.4 pounds!! Holy crap. I ate a big rib eye steak, cucumber salad, asparagus, and a curried cauliflower saute.... plus a small slice of coconut cake and some ice cream.

I didn't really fall off the wagon, I chose to step off it. :)

I think most of the added weight is water, as I drank poorly yesterday, too. I woke today parched, so that's usually a bad sign. I'm eating green and fruitish today and washing it all down with a load of water. I should see improvement tomorrow.

By the way... the last two night's dinners were fantastic, and I wouldn't change a thing about how I ate. :)

Don - I can understand your wanting to eat "good" food for a couple of nights. I think it's important for all of us to indulge every now and then. We're all working so hard to lose weight, but at the same time we do have to live and enjoy things... even if it is our enemy (food).

You do have a great attitude and you're very supportive to everyone. Keep up the good work. You'll get below 400 before you know it. :)

HUH!!! THAT'S UNFAIR - YUMMY DINNER & LOST WEIGHT!!! ME TOO ME TOO!! LOL :D
How did you do that?
Awesome job Don Keykong!
