ok so last night i decided that I would go into the gym for an evening session just to see what happened, wanted to concentrate primarily on weight training...went in an ran about 1.5 miles just to kinda warm up, then lifted pretty hard for about and hour, then ran another 2 miles and went home...it was awesome, i slept great and am going to try to make a habit of twice a day for as long as i can.
 
today

leg was hurting today for run so i only did a mile and then walked for about 10 minutes...going this evening for some pretty rigorous basketball though so that should lvl things out, keep having to force myself to eat more...damn science...
 
I've experienced one of those days as well fatguy. I ate bad for 2 straight days (+3000) but I stepped on the scale and it said I've lost 2 lbs.

I was excited..but i think my buddy has this way of making me feel the pain a week in advance. I think next week, i'll put those 2 lbs back on, but gotta stay positive!

Oh, and I know how that goes with the running. I was about to run 3 miles in 30 min. Now I am huffing and puffing to do 2 miles at the orginal 30 mins. I guess you have to keep practicing and lots of endurance.

Keep up the good work and don't get discouraged.
 
today's weigh in day, kinda nervous, been hitting it pretty hard all week so not sure why, just kinda at that point where if i lose any more weight it'll be the least i've weighed for about a year, no turning back! Last night was good, went to gym and hit the weights pretty good, and definately starting to notice in the mirror alot of changes :)

wasnt an endurance thing, shin splints have been kicking my ass here as of late, i can usually just suck it up and suffer through them but it was pretty bad that day :)

Your doing great really motivated.I am ex army and I also started gaining once I got out its just so easy.I have yet to see someone gain weight eating MRE'S-LOL
I think your going great and those measurement definitely show that your working hard.

i have heard of shin splints... and i worry about getting them...
what can you do once you have them???
just learn to endure the pain?
 
yeah basically i think that's all you can do, ice them, and keep running...and yea mres have like 4500 calories in the whole thing, lol you can get really really fat on them if you're in the right circumstances and eating alot of them. I like the Beef Stew (No. 9) one the best :)

I do not feel like going into the gym today....let alone twice like i'm planning on doing...bleh
 
post workout commentary

i gained a pound over the weekend....good workout today, going back for a wild one this evening. Hard to stay motivated at the moment.
 
ok this is getting old

i am getting very frustrated, I don't understand why I am not losing more weight, I know we shouldn't concentrate directly on the scale but sometimes it's hard not too, here's the gist of what i've been trying to do...

Intake - around 1600-1800 calories per day consisting of chicken, eggs, fruits and veggies, no starches and no fried foods, sometimes i will substitute chicken with sirloin or fish, and i try to stay away from cheese as much as possible.

Output - around 500 calories a day (that's being pretty modest) usually interval running and weight training at night for about an hour. Wednesday nights I play pretty high intensity games of basketball for 2 hours.

I also drink gallons of water, I drink 10-12 20 oz bottles a day (refill)

I guess my question to anyone who cares to answer it, is am I still on the right track? I lost ten lbs like it was nothing and I feel like I am still working really hard but not seeing results, I guess I should just try to stay positive and realize that even if i dont see results on the scale every week I am still doing better than if I was doing nothing...just irritating the hell out of me at the moment.:banghead:

ran for about 40 minutes during lunch yesterday and lifted for about an hour after work at the gym...feelings pretty good right now and definately more motivated than I was yesterday, it's nice to have sore muscles :)
 
Did the same thing as the day before yesteday, ran 30 minutes at lunch time and then went to the gym and hit the weights for about an hour, i broiled a sirloin last night! It was a welcome change from the chicken breast I usually have :) Pretty sore today but still planning on doing some cardio at the gym over lunch and then I have basketball league this evening, that's always good for about 1000 calories...

yea i didnt used to go twice a day and do so much, but i have alot more energy now that i've quit smoking and eating like a fat bastard, so going twice a day normals me out, I would only go once if I had a 2 hour lunch break though :)
