My Journey...

I've seen you post around so thought I'd come by and say hi :) I was reading and saw your popcorn posts this week. After the first one I was thinking "wow she stopped at 1/4 of a small bag"? See I have the same problem, I smell that popcorn and whamo, lol. Love me some popcorn. I've been able to evade it sometimes by either packing snacks (and yes sneaking them in, lol) or lately my hubby and I go to lunch/dinner before the movie so I'm so full I don't care. This seems to work pretty well but other than that I still cave sometimes. But unlike you I don't stop, I'm ashamed to admit I've ate over half a large bag by myself before :X. Anyway awesome that you're rolling with it and still not letting it derail you. You're doing a great job :) ~Lisa

Yea, my new plan when we go to the movies is to take light popcorn in with me. I know you aren't "supposed" to do that, but hey... this is MY health and MY life that we're talking about here, right? It's just that darn butter & I seriously swear that they hypnotize you as soon as you walk through the door! :lurk5:

That is too funny! I always wanted to have a daughter and name her Anne (with an E, thank you very much!) Now, it's definitely not my favorite name, but she is a darling character.

Day 28

Food:
Breakfast- cheerios w/fat free milk & fresh blueberries
Snack- pepper beef jerkey, 1 lowfat string cheese, pistachios (guess I was craving some protein, there...)
Lunch- salad (mixed lettuce greens) w/lowfat crumbled blue cheese, walnuts & lime juice, 1 kiwi, 1 snack size rice pudding
Snack- grapes, 1 Kashi Peanut Butter granola bar
Dinner- 1 burrito made on a whole wheat tortilla w/fat free refried beans, rotel diced tomatoes, lowfat cheddar cheese, shredded iceburg lettuce & lowfat sour cream

Fitness:
Today is my rest day.

Fun:
Well, it is only 6:30pm and I am going to bed! (Of course, I have been up since 2:00am this morning cuz I COULD NOT sleep.)

Feelings:
I feel like I am eating too much, and I think it really just comes down to getting that too full feeling because I am not eating even close to the amoung of food that I used to eat. Yet, I feel full sooner & I despise that too full feeling. So, this week what I am really going to concentrate on is watching to make sure that my days are balanced. I also have not felt like I'm getting enough veggies (so I'm gonna pull out my good friend "the juicer"). I think I have been eating too many dairies & too much fat without balancing it out with the lean proteins, whole grains & veggies.

This WILL be a good week! :seeya:

I've been getting full very quickly too. I feel like I'm wasting food but if I can't finish, I just give it to my dogs. I don't want to force myself to eat if I don't have to. I've never tried juicing but I've heard it's really good for you.

Yea, it's weird that I've felt lately like I am just eating too much food, but when I write everything down it is not tons and tons like I thought it would be. I think part of my problem, too, is that I have been eating dinner after I get home from the gym which is about 9:30-10:00pm. Then, I feel full when I go to bed and usually wake up a little sick to my stomach. So, on the days when I work until 8:00pm I think I am just going to juice for dinner.

We'll see how it goes. I think my eating habits are about to drastically change starting tomorrow cuz I will be in class from 8:00am-2:30pm. Then, 2-3 days a week I will have to be to work at 4:00pm. This makes it kinda pointless to come all the way home cuz school is only 5 minutes away from work. On those days I will just stay at school and study.

I am going to take lots of fresh fruits and veggies with me to have throughout the day plus probably a turkey wrap or something along those lines for my lunch. Gotta make sure I definitely get in a good healthy breakfast.

Anyway, I am rambling now... but I also wanted to let you know that when I juice I feel like I have SO MUCH more energy. A glass of fresh juiced veggies is a million times better than any of those energy drinks on the market.
 
Day 29

Food:
Breakfast- 1 whole wheat english muffin (toasted), w/lowfat cream cheese
Snack- 1 peach, baby bell peppers
Lunch- 1 burrito on whole wheat tortilla w/fat free refried beans, rotel diced tomatoes, shredded iceburg lettuce, lowfat cheddar cheese & lowfat sour cream, 1 Weight Watchers berry swirl popsicle
Snack- 1 snack size lowfat chocalate pudding
Dinner- baked chicken w/feta & sundried tomatoes (from Weight Watchers recipes, I used chicken instead of turkey), stuffed mushrooms

Fitness:
Walked Ace 1.5 miles
Gym was closed today... :(

Fun:
I got all of my books together and organized for school. I know this may not sound fun but I LOVE office supplies AND organizing, so this was actually a blast! (I know, I know...)

Feelings:
I feel like I have not made very much progress this week and my weight will probably skyrocket on Wednesday. So, I am just trying to prepare myself for that reality and not beat myself up. I have to realize that this is a learning process, not a race, and the weight will come off this time because I am still as determined as ever. I just wish it was gone NOW... LOL!
 
Wow you are juggling the same as me with work and school...but actually it looks like you got the more difficult end of it so I have no excuses, lol. I'm gonna be swinging by for ideas so hope you post all your good tips :) Thanks for linking recipes! Oh and you're not weird for liking office supplies and organizing for classes, I do the same thing.

Oh and I'm bad, I had popcorn yesterday anyway but hubby got a small bag and I only ate a little bit so I didn't feel too bad.
 
Day 30

Food:
Breakfast- 1 Kashi granola bar (I don't even know what flavor it was cuz I just grabbed it on the way out the door...)
Lunch- 1/2 slice pepperoni pizza (I know I've eaten too much pizza lately but I couldn't even finish the whole slice! WHAT??? Used to be I could finish 2 or 3, sometimes even 4 slices, before I was full!), pesto pasta w/broccoli & tomatoes
Snack- 1 plum, baby bell peppers
Dinner- curry chicken (I had frozen this from the last time I made it) w/brown rice & peas
Snack/Dessert- fresh pineapple

Fitness:
Didn't get anything in today. It was very hectic starting back the first day of classes and all. But tomorrow, NO MORE EXCUSES!

Fun:
Mini pedicure with home foot spa

Feelings:
As most of you know, this semester I am taking my CNA (nursing assistant) class. Well, get this... today I found out that during our labs we will have to be giving eachother bedpan baths! Now, we get to wear either bathing suits or a tank top & shorts, but talk about some motivation to lose some more weight!!! YIKES... :eek2:

Well, gotta do some more homework. Already have over a hundred pages to read tonight with a quiz tomorrow. I'll catch up with everyone just as soon as I get a chance.

Thanks so much for stopping by while I was gone for a couple of days. I feel like it's been forever. I'm glad to be back. That class sounds like it will be a blast...hahaha! I would die! It's going to be a motivator though! So what will it be...bathing suit or tank top??? ahhh!

Well, I don't know when I'll get to be back in my own house with my own healthy food. We don't have any power at home, so now I'm staying at my dad's. The stores were closed today, but I'm sure by tomorrow things will start becoming normal around here again. Hopefully! I've been feeling sooooooo gross with all the junk I've eaten. Your dinner last night sounds so good. I'm going to have to try that soon. The mushrooms are def. something that my husband will agree to eating! Poor guy, he hasn't had any of the things I used to make. He even lost 10 pounds since I'm not cooking like I used to!!

Getting to start your classes and all. I am thinking that I will be able to take some classes even if they were only just "get outta the way" classes this coming spring.
Awesome about feeling full with the pizza with only a 1/2 slice. I have been eating too much lately. Even of the good stuff. I need to stop doing that!

I thought of you this morning as I was happily organizing my new "case it" zippered notebook case with an oh so handy carrying strap :)

And wow about the bedpan baths, I didn't have to do that in my CNA training. Well not on eachother....we had to do it on one of the patients in the nursing home at the very end. Wow how awkward, hope it goes fast. At least you're all in the same boat and I bet everyone's gonna be uncomfortable.

Your food today sounds so good, made me hungry just reading it, lol. I had a sandwhich today but thats pretty much it so far and man I want some pasta salad and pineapple now. Think I'm gonna go eat some strawberries since thats what I have :)

Week 4: 214.0

Well, I weighed myself this morning and was surprised that I had only gained one pound back. Guess I have been doing something halfway right at least. Anyway, the good news is that I've lost 7lbs total for the month of August and that is GREAT! I am still well on my track of reaching my Halloween goal.

Today has been a very long, bitterly stressful day. Just want to tell everyone thanks on stopping by and checking on me and I promise I will get caught up with everyone just as soon as I can.

I was up until about 2:30am this morning working on homework and today I have to do about as much if not more than last night. Learned proper handwashing techniques today. We had to put on white glitter lotion, then we properly washed our hands, then we had to go put our hands under the black light to pick up the remnants of the glitter lotion. WOW! It was really awful how dirty your hands remain around your cuticles and between your fingers, so WASH UP FOLKS!

Hope everyone is having a better day than I am. However, at times like this, I used to turn to food, but I didn't do that today so I am very glad. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. Again, I'll catch up with you all very soon so keep up all the good work!!! :hurray:
 
Day 31

Food:
Breakfast- malt-o-meal
Snack- celery
Lunch- turkey wrap made w/ whole wheat tortilla, low fat chive & garlic cream cheese & lettuce, fresh pineapple slices, low fat string cheese
Snack- Kashi Trail Mix granola bar
Dinner- green chile stew (good thing I had frozen a bunch of goodies in individual size containers...), 1 whole wheat tortilla

Fitness:
This is where the stress of the day played a part. I have a horific headache and it is all I can do to keep my head up in order to study. It's a good thing that I am enjoying my class so much!

Fun:
Today was not fun...

Feelings:
If you couldn't tell from my cheery posts, I am having a very bad day. I'm sure I'll be back on track in the next day or so. However, I refuse to let days like today play a part in my eating habits. I have not ordered an entire pizza, gone to Arby's or ordered a 10 pack of tacos from Taco Bell so all is well on that front, at least... :cry:
 
Hey you did alot better than I did. I had a horrible day too and it showed in my eating habits so great job to you. I'll agree with you that it will get better tomorrow. I am hoping the same for myself as well. Take care.
 
mmmmm.....taco bell...good job not caving :) That's when I have problems too on bad days when I'm tired and stressed. I so hope you're day today has gone better, hang in there

Stacy, you did wonnnderful on losing 7 pounds this month! I'm sorry about your crappy day. I hope your head feels better soon. You should take one of those luxurious baths with the lavender and chamomile....sounds like a plan to me! Feel better soon!
