My Journey...

Awesome :) Great job on the food yesterday. Was that a menu from the club you joined or just your own? Glad you're feelin better :waving:

Thanks! Well, the menu is partly the club and partly me. That's why I think this will definitely work for me. Cuz, it's not so completely restrictive that I can't still eat exactly what I want. Yes, I did pay for this but it's not that much and at this point my health is worth any cost, cuz I can't afford to give up. :hurray: :hurray:

Hey I can't say anything, I paid for ediets for a year and loved it at the time. I just didn't know I had pcos and insulin resistance at the time so I ended up not getting long term results. A good diet tool is worth it :) And glad you're not feeling restricted, that's a definite plus.

Awesome for you for doing signing up for the Biggest Loser Club and that you refuse to give up the fight. You are doing a great thing for yourself. Keep it up and you'll be there in no time. :)

I definitely agree! I just have to keep trying even if I hit a few bumps in the road along the way. We've said it from the beginning... this is a journey, right?

Glad to see you are still around encouraging us all to be healthy. Love your new tracker. I am so excited for you!!! I told Kristi that you both have to send me some baby vibes, k...

Snack/Dessert- smoothie made w/low fat vanilla soy milk, 1 banana & raspberries

Fitness:
I am still having problems finding time for the gym when I have to be gone from the house from 7:00am till 8:00pm. At least I am making my food in advance, though!!! I will get there. This is just going to be a crazy busy week.

Fun:
I am catching up with all of you guys...

Feelings:
Gotta get in those work outs. Even if it's not at the gym. I have just been SOOO incredibly tired lately. Plus, this week I work every day so I will have no time at all. I will go on the days I am not working, and will increase as I can. If I only go 3 days a week, at least I am still going. That is not too shabby. I just have such high expectations for myself, but I know it is better to start slow and work up so that I do not get frustrated when I cannot keep up with myself.

week 10: 219.5

Well, I am going to be weighing in on Tuesday's now instead of Wednesday's. Don't really know why, but since Wednesday's didn't seem to work out too well for me, heck... why not, right?

Anyway, so today was my first way in and I was back up almost to my original starting weight of 221.0 pounds. But, I will not be discouraged by this. I just know that from here on out, no matter what, those numbers will continue to go down.

So, here's to everyone who has struggled and is struggling... cuz one day, I will be a success story, and you know the old saying. "If I can do it, you can do it."

Good luck to everyone!!!

Wow Stacy, you came back with the full force of a tornado :) I can see you don't do anything halfway. Your food looks awesome, your exercising, and worrying about a gym when you work everyday...wow. And you're definitely right about this being a journey...I can't wait to be further down the road either though, lol.

Ha ha... Yea, I'm a kinda all or nothing over achiever or miserable failure type of person. I hate to not succeed at the things I set my mind to. However, I'm not afraid to admit when I make mistakes. That's the best way to learn. So, that's what I consider last month... a mistake, a minor misstep, and a lesson learned. But definitely not a failure.

It's weird cuz there have been a couple of people that started on these forums the same time I did, but now they are gone. It is sad. I have a strong feeling that they are not sticking to their weight loss goals. I don't want to be one of those people.

Wow! You get an A+ for your SUPER healthy day yesterday!!! What an encouragement! I want to start juicing too and when I do, I'll be coming to you because you always seem to have interesting combinations!

Stacy, I am so happy that you are still here. I'm glad that you realize that just because there are curves and stops along the road, it doesn't mean that it's over. If you are like me, then you know that this is probably something that we are going to have to do for the rest of our lives and giving up is just not an option. Good for you for sticking with it and I too look forward to seeing your progress and doing this with you! :)

Hey Stacy!

I know that you've had quite a rough start and sticking to a new lifestyle is hard. I believe in you and you have the foundation to really make a change that will stick!

For one, keep up with walking Ace! It's something that he needs anyway and it's a fun way to get in some exercise. :) Even if you don't make it to the gym, make a promise to him that you'll take him for a walk... try increasing your distance a little at a time.

What's really been working for me, personally, is replacing a meal (breakfast or lunch) with a shake or bar. I found that the shake/bar offers me a quick way to stay on top of a balanced caloric intake. The "Zone" bars really are like having dessert (the Fudge Graham one is soooooo delicious). If anything, it takes that edge of of my craving for sweets. Plus, they fill you up and energize you. :) I sometimes have a banana with it if I feel that I want a little more to eat.

I also wanted to say congrats for joining the Biggest Loser Club! I've been getting emails from it since last season and some of the insight is really helpful.

I know that if you keep up with that and/or this forum, you'll have all the support you may need and will get down to your goal weight.

Keep it up!!! :hurray:

Day 65

from yesterday

Food:
Breakfast- fiber one cereal w/nonfat milk
Snack- low fat string cheese, raspberries
Lunch- chicken salsa soup, cucumbers & celery w/garlic hummus
Snack- 2 small chocolate turtles (YUMMY!!!)
Dinner- split pea soup, 2 whole wheat pitas w/olive oil, low fat mozarella, tomatoes & fresh basil
Snack/Dessert- 1 banana

Fitness:
No more excuses!!!

Fun:
Nothing too much, had to be in class & work all day. Not a bad day, though.

Feelings:
Kasey, thanks for the reminder to take Ace for a walk. When I have to be gone all day, I end up leaving the house when it is dark and coming back home when it is dark, so it's been hard to find the time to walk the little guy. I know that he has not been getting nearly enough exercise (although he does get quite a workout cuz I throw his ball up & down the stairs for him...) However, I am going to start incorporating him into my workouts, even at home. On the days I have more time, I am going to take him for a walk AND go to the gym. On the days that it is too dark to walk him, I will start running those stairs up and down with him.

Have a great day everyone!!!

Hi There!

I'm out and about checking out new people today. I liked reading about your juicing. I too am a fellow juicer, and try to juice when I can. It's so hard though to only drink juice, I'm not that great at sticking with it for more than a day. I once did a 3 week juice cleanse, and lost 17 pounds and felt so good.

In February of this year I was close to your weight, at 222. I've since had to struggle these pounds off, but am now at 186. You can do it!

There are definite weeks I am up, but I just keep pushing ahead. You'll make some headway!

Thanks so much for the encouragement! It is good to know that others are succeeding at their goals. Last month was so stressful but now hopefully I can learn to deal with the stress and keep eating healthy all at the same time. Can't wait till I am at 186. Keep up the GREAT work!!!

Day 66

from yesterday

Food:
Breakfast- banana & a Kashi TLC granola bar
Snack- strawberries
Dinner- crawfish w/cajun sauce over angel hair pasta, salad w/bleu cheese dressing & bread

Fitness:
None besides all my crazy running around.

Fun:
My best friend had her 3rd baby (1st girl) last night at 8:07pm. She is SOOO adorable!!!

Feelings:
Today was the day we had to give and receive a bed bath. It was quite an interesting experience. We also had to give a bed pan and the "patient" had to put a little water into it. When the girl doing my bath took the pan away she got it EVERYWHERE! I was soaked. Thank goodness it was only water. We also had to brush the persons teeth and then after the bath was done, had to make the bed with the patient in it. This is such an awesome class! I can't wait till clinicals start on November 3rd.

Just dropping my .02 in here.
When I first got on this journey I did no exercise for like 2 months.
None, nada, zilch.
And I still lost 30 pounds just simply by controlling my diet.
Don't let the not getting to the gym thing get at you.
One thing people forget is that you do not have to go to the gym to get a workout.
It is like you said you could run those stairs with Ace.
Plus lots of other things.
I want to see you succeed. I know you will!!!!

Thanks so much! I know these crazy weeks will not last for very much longer so I am trying not to worry too much about not making it to the gym. It's just that I know how much better I feel when I do go and I get frustrated that I don't have the time. Like today, for example... I left my house at 7:15am. Ate breakfast at home but had to pack both lunch & dinner to bring with me and I won't get home till about 8:30pm. By that time, there is just no way I am making it anywhere but to my nice comfy bed. Ha ha!!!

Day 67

from yesterday

Food:
Breakfast- grapes
Lunch- celery, cucumber & carrots w/garlic hummus
Snack- cookie crisp cereal
Dinner- baked potato w/turkey breast, lowfat sour cream & green onions; 1 orange

Fitness:
No excuses...

Fun:
Went to see baby Maegan. She is precious!!!

Feelings:
I have not had time to prepare all of my meals in advance so I have been grabbing things on the go and can definitely tell the difference. Don't think I am eating enough calories, but at least I am not turning to really bad foods. I'll work on planning things out better this week so that I can stick to my meal plans.

You'll get there. You sound strong and determined! :driving:
