I skipped out on my gym a month early so I could start at the YMCA today. I so love it. Sat in the sauna for 20 minutes...couldn't take the steam room-hard to breathe in there. Will try again tomorrow.

Classes I plan on taking:

Monday AM: cycle

Tuesday AM: water aerobics
Tuesday PM: yoga

Wednesday: kickboxing (gosh I love kickboxing)

Thursday PM: cycle

Friday AM: beginner step

Weekend: either the zumba or gospel jam class


Thought I could skip out on the AM workouts but nah...too much fun going on at the Y. Can't wait til I learn to swim.

Hey--that's an admirable profession and VERY stressful--I bet you don't get enough sleep sometimes, huh? Lack of sleep screws up the endocrine system so that the hormone that controls appetite increases--and stress also messes with the metabolism so as to cling to fat cells. I betcha if you did some de-stressing you'd find it'll aid your exercise and weight loss efforts. You DESERVE that :D

So, I've been on the scale every morning and it's pretty annoying at this point. I decided to lock it in my car's trunk for a few weeks just to give myself a break. Hell, with the week I just had I thought about locking myself in there too.

Kickboxing was crazy cool but I totally lost my Black girl card during step aerobics-I have zero coordination...think I lost the majority of my calories from tryna figure out the routine.

Can I ask this ONE question....WHY are all the old guys hitting on me at the gym...it's like your dentures are crooked grandpa...lemme lone.

Met with my surgeon today and wouldn't ya know it my boobies did shrink. I'm gonna have a lift instead of a reduction once I get to my goal weight.

Allrighty...enough of my rambling. How you doing?

This is too funny because I did my Hip Hop Abs Video about a week ago and I was allll over the place except the right place :smilielol5: A couple times I just had to march in place I was so lost and I was definately glade I was in the privacy of my own home! I'm gonna have to take some dance classes :party: I definately want to try belly dancing once I get a little more comfortable with my body, right now my goal is to just break 200lbs.

And good idea on getting the lift instead of the reduction. You might have missed those girls :santa::santa: once it was all said and done.

Learning to swim is going to fun I'm sure. I don't remember ever learning because I was only 6 months old! I have some underwater pics of me getting rings at the bottom of the pool before I could even walk.

Ohh saunas are sooo relaxing. I haven't been to one in years. Only problem is, I hated walking in on a naked lady with her legs all open and her :reddevil: staring at me. Always was an akward moment!

:smilielol5: OMG, I can't even imagine. I'm not a big fan of suanas or jacuzzi's. some of us can't take the heat.

You're right about missing my girls. We'll see how it goes. Seems like I'm experiencing more back pain now that I'm losing weight though. Gonna do some back/core strengthening and we'll see if that does the trick.

Lilly, you should try the steam room. It's not as hot...I had to learn to control my breathing cause I thought the steam was gonna take me out initially. You could also try putting a towel on top your head...helps block some of the steam.
 
Had a complimentary personal training session today. I hurt so good.

I may try a few sessions to get me through til February. My goal is to lose these 50 pounds by then. He asked me to creat mini weight loss goals for these 50 pounds so...*insert drum roll*

I reckon those are reasonable...it's 8 pounds per month, with the exception of November cause winter camping/thanksgiving is sure to put on some extra weight. Don't eat a lot over Christmas so I should be fine.

Glad you found a way to de-stress! Stress is a KILLER and it causes weight gain, it's a fact!!!!:gnorsi:

Ah, a breast lift, a luxury in life that I want to be able to afford someday. Currently mine are fine but in a decade or so I'd imagine it'd be the old apple in a tubesock dealy....sigh!

For me...I'm gonna work on this month. lol One week at a time, I've been a lil :piggy: over the last two wks, dont know why. Just wanted to I guess, no excuses. Anywho, I just stopped by really to say hi and keep up the great work!

I've been on this particular journey since Dec'2006. In all this time I've never had as much nervous energy regarding weight loss than I have at the present. I am hella anxious about doing this right, calories (the scale is still on punishment) but yes weight and fat measurements. I dropped my calories back down to 1400 I believe 2 weeks ago...it's gotta come back up cause I'm hungry and all last week I had headaches in the evening. Plus, I'm concerned that with the addition of the new exercise classes I'm taking I gotta give myself more fuel. So, back up to 1800. Of course that brings anxiety that I'll gain weight. Where's Curvie Girl I need a :sifone: lol (Joking).

Some of it is just not knowing what to do. I cut the calories because I anticipated a plateau and I wanted to avoid it. I checked out bodybuidling.com tonite for inspiration. That is such a great site saw this before-after thread in the woman's section -blew me away. I know I can do this, just gotta keep things going in the right direction. I actually may try to go lower than 185 just so I can cut my body fat and see some muscle defintion. But tonight I'll go to bed and rest up from today.
