My Journey to..wait, where am I going again?!?

Hi! Thanks for stopping by my journal while I was gone and for the prayer! It sure helped because we are all okay. I haven't been to my house yet, but my hubby drove by and said that it looked fine. I'll be headed over there tomorrow to check things out. Hopefully we will have power so I can settle back into routine and end this junk food frenzy that I've been on since the weekend. The hurricane has not been good for healthy eating and exercise!!

I hear you about losing the same two pounds every week. I've been doing that for about 3 weeks now and I'm so sick of it! If I reach a new low on Friday it will be a miracle b/c there has been no health food in my body since Saturday!

Well, keep it goin' girl! We can do this!
 
So I tracked my calories this weekend and did well until....insert drum roll....SUNDAY DINNER. I LOOOOOVEEE grilled food so the folks grilled some t-bone steaks. OMG, I saw them sitting on the counter and all I could do is :drooling:. I have not had red meat in months...it was delicious....and now I'm suffering behind it...I cant make a decent bowel movement to save my life since Sunday. I took a tablespoon of epsom salts this morning and finally things are looking up. hehee, I know that was sooo gross to read but that's my reality.


I'm 235 #s now. YAY!! 10 lbs to my mini goal of 225. 225 is significant for me because when I went on the love sick diet 6 years ago thats the weight I got down to. Oh, you haven't heard of the love sick diet have you? Its what you go on when you've just gotten your heart broken and all you can stomach is 1 bowl of cereal per day. Yup, went from 3ish to 225 in about 3 months. 225 is also the weight where I've been mistaken for a skinny girl. To get back to 225 in a healthy way this time is amazing for me... glad I now have the tools I need to stay healthy while I push right on past 225.


BTW, I have my 3 month follow up appointment with my surgeon on the 26th. I'm down 27 pounds so far since meeting with her last (and my girls still haven't budged). About 50 more pounds before she will agree to perform my breast reduction. :hurray:

Hey Tysha! Great job getting to 225!!!!!!! I was re-reading your first post because I remembered you saying that was the weight that you start feeling comfortable with. You are doing incredible and it's a good thing you are doing it the healthy way.

I know about the love-sick diet too...except for me it wasn't that I was heartbroken, but that I was head over heels and couldn't eat because of him! I had no appetite and I too only ate like a bowl of cereal and a baby carrot a day! I had a mad crush for about 2 years(he was my best friend, and he would give me the "I can't date my best friend" speech) and so after nothing came of it I met someone else and eventually got married to him. Then a couple months later I found out that the guy I had like all that time was actually gay and came out of the closet. Go figure. At least I was my tiniest when I met my husband! 130 pounds!!! I would LOVE to go back to that but want to do it the right way also. Good for you for doing that too.
 
Kristi, not quite @ 225 yet....10 pounds to go....hoping in 3 weeks I can formally accept your congrats!!!

okay wait...he turned out to be gay. WOW, now that's saving grace right there. lol Its crazy cause me and the same guy are great friends now and its a good thing cause love is frienship on fiyah!!
 
The steak has officially left the building. :hurray: and :waving: kick rocks. Can't believe that took friggin 3 days.

We now return to our regularly scheduled program...already in service. heehee

You know, I've considered becoming a vegetarian a few times (believe thats the one that eats fish and chicken); yup, more appealing to me day by day. I starting looking for green smoothie recipes to try this weekend. I'm going to try a few of them but this one sounds the most promising:

1 cup spinach
1 mango
1/2 banana
water

May add some lemon juice to see how it changes things. I also want to try one with carrots....did a search on this forum and someone suggested trying it with oranges...taste test this weekend.

Anywho, I did well thus far this week nutritionally/exercise wise but I'm back up to 237. (No pooping + monthly cycle= no weight loss) I'm yet committed so it's all good in the hood homies.

I get so nervous about the weekends. Trying to brace myself now. BREATHE..Exhale...okay...no fears!

Since you mentioned it first, I have to inquire....have you noticed a difference in pooping habits? :smilielol5: That sounds so weird to be asking a complete stranger, except for my patients. I ask because when I 1st started my "new way" of eating...I just wasnt pooping regularly or was having "issues" if you know what I mean lol. And after I ate a burger everything would be fine lol. But after a full week of better eating things got back on the right track...I was just wondering if anyone else had a similiar experience.

I'm not afraid to talk about pooping. LOL

I don't know about you but for me when I first starting eating "right" I stopped the burgers while adding fruit and vegetables. I think initially my body was confused with the changed so I had "issues" until my body got adjusted. I wasn't going as often but now I poop on a regular basis (a few hours after I eat)...if I don't poop 2-3 times a day I start looking at what I ate or didn't drink.

Also, there is a difference in the kind of poop that comes out now as opposed to then. Before, it was just gross to look in the toilet cause the color was horrible and either my release wasn't solid or it was HUGE and painful...not to mention the smell.

Now, I have a lighter colored release (who knows what that means?!?-cause I dont), the smell is fainter as in I don't mind going at work and of course its solid-curve shaped chunks. Which I read is on point.

As promised, I did read your diary, and I am so happy I did. You really are inspirational, have you ever considered perhaps...writing a book? Yes, you are busy, I can tell, but I can also tell you have a very fresh soul, (I couldn't think of another way to put it.) Let me try to explain, your words flow from your fingers fluidly, they're full of an energetic, no nonesense approach to life, and it is SOOO refreshing to read. I can definitly understand why so many people have commented as this diary being one of the best in the entire forum. With some people's that you read, you tend to skim over some words here and there, with yours, I was dissappointed to see it end. I will be, for sure, watching your progress as you continue on. Birthday night/Ladies night with my old school friends. Going to PF Changs. So I wouldn't just completely blow it I looked up their menu and nutritional info...it's crazy how their site has way low calories posted and other sites add 50, 100 sometimes 150 calories to the meals. I'm going with the high calorie listings.

I was all set on having the Cantonese Shrimp (330 cal), Large Spinach Stir fry w/ garlic (140), and Buddha's feast steamed veges (137) all for 607 calories....but that's just no fun and I eat shrimp and veges almost every day. Instead, I banked my calories from lunch and PM snack so that I could get the crispy honey chicken @ 960 calories (on their menu its 867). Its fried...I'm going to diet-hell. LOL (please, please don't let me punk out and get the shrimp and veges...)

I can even get a drinky drink when we go to a club later on. I wasn't going to go but my sister and mom said I needed to....so pump, pump get it, get it...shake that booty- doo doo brown. :party: LOL

Oh gotta say this: decided to wear my sexy high waisted size 18 old navy jeans that I couldnt fit into weeks ago when I tried. I also got this hot lil' tank from FOREVER 21...what...yea....FOREVER 21...in a size large.

AWH, the good life. lol
 
Hey I had ladies night last night with some friends too. Fun times! Yay for fitting into jeans that didn't before. I love that feeling and can't wait to slip on my size 10 "long and lean" from the gap! I think I'll faint when that happens!!! Glad you're having a fun weekend :D

Today was my treat day and I also preplanned my meal by checking the site, its a great way not to go over board or manage your calories throughout the day so you can have some fun later.

Anywho, hope you have fun tonight! Party for me :party:, I havent been out in forever. I have to admit...all my friends are way skinny and so I havent wanted to go out since I started gaining weight.

Even with the crispy honey chicken and buddha steamed delight (no butter, oil etc) I weighed in today at 234.6. Not too bad to say the non pooping/monthly cycle filled week I had.
