well done dropping a little more, you don't need luck, your hard work will pay off for both your weight loss and your surfing !
I know, I say luck a lot. Hard work is
definitely key to my success, but keeping myself motivated is
the thing that keeps me going.
So, how did the surfing go?! I hope you enjoyed it!
It was tough, there were two times where I almost got up and either the wave died on me, or I was too far back on the board and the board sunk.
But there was that moment where the wave was good enough, I paddled enough and I got up. It wasn't a straight "pop-to-my-feet," I sort-of wobbled a little and was leaning too far back. I adjusted my weight forward to speed it up and found the "sweet spot," and road the white water a good 15 seconds to shore. When I hopped off I almost started crying with how happy I felt. It's been over 2 years since I've been up riding and it felt
awesome to be back up again!
I still have a
waaaaaaays to go though. I really,
really gotta get myself in shape now. The waves were chest high, and trying to paddle out on The Foil was a hassle. I couldn't get past the breaks (even turtle roll'n and trying to paddle over) and I just ended up paddling in the white water. I need to think of a new challenge... hmm. How about this:

Starting tomorrow, my goal is to do at least 5 push-ups throughout the day. And than increase it by a little more each week.
So it will look something like this:
1st Week: 5 push-ups.
2nd Week: 6-10 push ups.
3rd Week: 10-15 push ups.
4th Week: 15 - 25 push ups.
5th Week: 25 - 35 push ups.
And than I'll see what I will do from there.
Also, as soon as I came in a guy who was body-boarding with fins came in and talked to me about my board. He immediately noted that it was a 70s board and it felt really good about how much he liked it. It reminded me when I was surfing in the past and I got strangers walking up to me asking about it or saying what a cool-looking board it was.
He mentioned a little shop down the street called Core Surf (used to be Cape Surf before the guy running it screwed things up) and said I should take it down there to be looked at. When I did bring it over there, the guy said it wouldn't be worth making it "new new," again. To professionally fix the dings/holes on it would run me 60.00 dollars... which isn't really worth it. I could fix it up myself for
waaay less.
What I would
really like is to try to find a place that can duplicate the board, get the same shape, foil, the whole deal and make a copy-cat of it. Get it customized, maybe a nice decal, idk. Maybe it will be my ultimate reward for getting to my goal weight, idk. Problem is that will cost a butt-load of cash...
Anyway, don't mind my rambling. Here's the board itself:
