My Journey: Positive Outlook For 2013

I never put my weight up yesterday. I weighed in at 208.8lb in the morning. This morning I weighed in at 208.2lb. Almost in the 7's. Hopefully tomorrow! :)

Today I'm really going to make an effort to count calories to see where I'm at. I do have a pretty healthy day planned. Starting with a chocolate (protein powder) drink with a berry salad (blueberry, strawberry, raspberry, and blackberry). Lunch will be a garden salad with chicken. Dinner will either be an egg or cheese sandwich. Snacks, I have some 4 cheese triscuit crackers and some chocolate teddy grahams. I know my snacking choices could use some more fine tuning, but I'm picking better options so I'm happy. Heck, I could be having candy or potato chips. I think I'm picking the better of two evils here. :) I do find I need something crunchy throughout the day to keep myself happy. I also have plenty of water ready to go.

Should be doing the abs workout for the next couple of nights. Looking forward to it. Feels so good to be back on track! :)

Hi Mandy, just popping in to say something about the need of chrunchiness, I love it too. I buy dried apple crisps or poppet millet which both are low fat and low sodium - even eat some types of cereal as a snack, it's way better than normal crisps or nuts. You probably already know.
Have a great day!

TEMPTATION IS EVERYWHRE TODAY, BUT I’M WINNING!!!! :D

This morning we had a vendor come in today and he brought several dozen donuts for the staff to share. There were some delicious Boston Kreme donuts just screaming my name, but I told them to shut up and walked away. ?

This afternoon we had pizza delivered. I have no idea where it came from, but there was pepperoni slices still left and some Hawaiian still left. Those are my two absolute favorite flavors for pizza. I was tempted. So VERY tempted, but again was able to say no.

Along with those two haunts there are candy dishes all throughout the building (even on in my office) full of chocolates and other candies. I’m going on week number two without having any.

Some days are harder than others, but overall saying no to food really is getting easier and easier. Learning to not depend so much on food is a real life changer. Feeling pretty good about myself right now. ?

Thanks, it was a successful day all the way around. No junk food. Taebo abs workout at 646 calories burned. I'm very pleased!

Here's what I came up for calorie intake today:
BREAKFAST: berry salad at approx 291 calories and a protein shake at approx 155 calories
EARLY AFTERNOON SNACK: triscuit crackers at 130 calories
LUNCH: garden salad with chicken at approx. 295 calories (includes italian dressing)
LATE AFTERNOON SNACK: cinnamon raisin bagel at 260 calories
DINNER: grilled cheese sandwiches (yes I had 2) at 400 calories total
LATE NIGHT SNACK: Will be having a small cup of frozen yogurt at 130 calories

Total today is roughly 1661 calories. Not too bad I guess.

It had been nearly a month since I took pics of my progress so last night I did. I compared them to my last set of pics and couldn't really see a difference. That didn't surprise me since I took a lot of time off of exercising and my diet spiraled out of control for a while. However, I compared them to my first set of pictures from February and I could see a huge difference! The biggest change I noticed though was in my chest. I still have plenty of chest left, but I was pretty shocked to see how much I've lost in that area. Along with that my mid section, legs, arms, and neck are noticeably smaller as well. That kind of made my night. Now I really wish I didn't take such a hiatus because I'd be that much further ahead of the game, but it's done. I'm back on track now and going to try everything within my power to stay on this road. :)

Weighed in at 207.6lb this morning. Pretty happy with that! :)

I'm beyond excited to be reach that 50lb mark. I was oh so close a few months ago, but fell off the wagon. This time I'm sticking with it! :)

Great day yesterday. My food intake was the same as the day before except for dinner. Instead of grilled cheese I had steak and a baked potato. It's been a long time since I've had a baked potato. It was heavenly! :) Since my dinner last night was larger than Tuesday's I skipped my frozen yogurt desert. I forgot to add that to my total for Tuesday (it's 130 calories per serving).

I did my abs workout last night and burned 669 calories. I continue to amaze myself with how much stamina and strength that I've gained. I'm still not where I need to be for the floor crunches and stuff, but I can feel improvements every day which is awesome!

This morning I weighed in at 207lb even. It feels great to see the number dropping once again.

I'm not sure what I'm doing tonight. I should do the abs workout, BUT I feel so bad that I haven't been able to walk my dogs for the past month or so because of the heat. I have boxers and they can't tolerate heat as a general rule. Well, tonight is supposed to be in the low 70's so I may just bring them each (I have 3) on individual walks which would total about 4 miles. It'll be a late night since I also have to do groceries. We'll see how it goes!

It's great with everything! - well not the heat intolerance that your dogs have, hope they can have a walk tonight.

Improving in stamina and strength is amazing. For me its even better feeling than the number on the scales dropping. Means you are getting fitter. Can't to see you hit the 50lb off mark and then into one-derland!!!

Great Job Mandy! We are now at the same weight :) Update that Ticker girl! Lol. I love boxers. If having three is a little much for you I could take one off your hands :D

Thanks Clarrisa, I'm pretty proud of how I've been doing for the past 2 weeks. :)

Angel, you are right! It's a great feeling knowing that you're getting more fit. I know I still have a long road ahead of me, but compared to where I was I know I've also traveled down a long road. I'm being completely honest when I say I think I'm going to shed some happy tears when I'm out of the 200's. I can't remember ever being below 200lb! It'll be a huge accomplishment! :)

Slickzchik - Will fix my ticker. I keep forgetting to update that! There are times when I wish I could send my dogs elsewhere for a day or so, but there's NO chance I ever would! LOL They're my babies! I'll attach a pic so you can see. The one on the left is Mason and he just turned 10 in May. He was my second boxer, I lost my first in 2011 due to heart issues. Shortly after I lost Riley I got the one in the middle. His name is Logan. On Logan's 1st birthday we brought Abby home, what a nice birthday present huh?! Logan was just getting to be too much for Mason so we wanted to get one closer to his age so he'd have someone to play with. Logan and Abby are best friends now. Mason enjoys having his alone time while the two young uns wrestle away. :)

Thanks Q! I think they're pretty darn cute too! ;)

~~

Last night I ended up doing my abs workout instead of walking the dogs. I got home late from shopping and it was already starting to get dark. I'm a chicken and don't like walking in the dark. We live on country roads with a lot of wild critters and not a lot of street lights so it's just dangerous. Anyway, I burned 661 calories doing the workout.

So I was VERY pleasantly surprised at this morning's weigh in. I have no idea how it happened, but yesterday I weighed in at 207lb, this morning I weighed in at 204.4lb!! And, that's after getting on the scale about 6 times to the same number. The only thing I can think of is that my TOM just ended a few days ago so maybe I was holding extra water. Either way, I'll GLADLY take that! At my lowest weight since joining here I was at 203 (back in April). It's so nice to have that low right around the corner again! :)

Today I'll be having a good breakfast. We order breakfast where I work and I usually get 2 eggs over easy with homefries and white toast. I have no clue what the calorie intake is because this is a small diner who doesn't have a nutrition guide. It usually keeps me pretty full until late afternoon which helps curb snacking. Tonight I'll be doing the full body workout and after seeing the results I'm seeing I have to be honest and say that I'm really looking forward to it! :)

Wow! Good job! :hurray: hard work is definitely paying off. Keep it up ! :hurray:

It is really nice when you can start looking forward to and enjoying workouts :)

They are so beautiful!!! Now I really wanna steal one lol.

Your so close to one-derland, that magical realm :D you'll be there in no time!

Thanks guys! So close to the 100's I can hardly stand it!!! :D

Did my full taebo workout tonight, burned 1148 calories. That makes 5 days straight that I worked out. Tomorrow will be a rest day as I'll be on the ocean all day and won't have time to get it in. I think my body can use a little rest though. :)

Well that was definitely short lived. LOL Went from 204.4 yesterday to 206.2 this morning. Weird how it fluctuates like that. Oh well, I'm off to sea!! :D

From 206.2 yesterday to 204.8 today. I don't get it. I was really worried about weighing in today because I had a pretty bad day for food yesterday. I had a turkey, cheddar, bacon sandwich from Dunkin Donuts for breakfast, lunch was a large bowl of coffee and strawberry frozen yogurt with chocolate chip, snow cap, and almond toppings (from the Orange Leaf if anyone's familiar with them). It was delicious! For dinner my mom and I decided to have Chinese food and I ate WAY too much! I always do when it comes to Chinese.

Today I had a late start to the day. I slept in and skipped breakfast. I just had a 6" BMT sub from Subway. For dinner we're having a BBQ with spare ribs and steak tips. Looking forward to it! :)
