I think it's great that you have now got into a routine which is working for you and is obviously making you feel so much better. Feeling fitter & healthier is better for us physically & mentally. Consider adding some more calories if your energy lags though or you lose too quickly. It's best to think of this as a long-term solution, rather than a quick fix. You are doing so well :)

Thank you for the input everyone, once I start actually burning a lot of calories at the gym and hitting the weights harder, I will push the 1500-1800 Calorie intake mark. Depending on what I start burning when I kick the resistance up on my bike sessions it may start next week. I am going to finish this week with what i'm currently doing.

Cramping is mostly caused by a lack of magnesium, potassium and sodium, when eating mostly fresh food then lack of sodium can cause bad cramping especially if you are drinking a lot of water which will further deplete your electrolytes through your sweat.

your protein intake looks good but may need some adjustment depending on how much muscle you have and how hard your hitting the weights.

Today was another productive day in the gym. The thing im most excited about was I got all of my nutritional information for my homemade chili. All im going have to do is figure out how many servings it is by scooping it 1 1/2 cup at a time. I used to make my chili by eyeball for all of the seasonings but now I have it recorded and logged! Cant wait to eat it tomorrow night. Ive won some awards for my chili and I was dreading not being able to eat it within my diet. If my guest-imated servings is any where close it is well within a meals range!

I cant wait! My wife usually has me make it every month or so in these winter months and we eat it for days because I make a bunch of it. However this time im going to give some to my mom and dad to take with them. I am going to start prepping it in about 20 minutes. I let it cook for 7 hours and tonight is going to be a good Friday night hahaha

Hope everyone has an awesome Friday leading up into this weekend.

So today/tonight was a nice day! Got to eat two servings of my chili over rice and I feel nice and stuffed. My issue is wanted to eat more -_- Ive been good for 12 days now not going over 1500 calories. Even today my total is 1427 Calories. With my workout today "myfitnesspal" said my goal is 1840 calories but im over my fat by 12g. The struggle is real tonight and i'm having to exercise EXTREME WILLPOWER.

Part of me says "You've been doing good you can splurge today and have a 3rd serving because you will only be at a little over 1600 Calories" and my other side says "Stick to the strictness you have been doing!" I think i'm going to go with the strict voice because I don't actually need that other bowl. I'm laughing with my wife because I feel like an addict or something.........This is my highest calories day in my 12 day journey so far.

I was wondering what you guys thought about me going over the daily Fat? How bad is it to do this? Im not maxing my calories and carbs. I am wondering if anyone has any input. The stuff I have found online has told me to not really worry about it but I was just wondering if anyone here had any insight. Link to my stats for the day https://imgur.com/a/FP9PG

Im hoping its ok that I do this, seeing as I only have one day, Saturdays where I dont do anything physical.

Paintball day! Had a good day today. Last paintball practice before our monthly tournament today. The practice its self didnt go to good team wise. We got wiped and destroyed pretty much every match. It was cold too, between 19F in the morning and hit a high of 32F by mid afternoon. The good news is ive yet to get tired from sprinting or fatigued when playing quick matches back to back....So shout out to the work im putting in at the gym hahaha. Got home and my wife had an amazing dinner planned. Im stuffed while writing this and feel good!

That recipe for the potatoes was a life safer. I couldnt believe how much 8 oz of potatoes actually IS! I was shocked. Then when I entered my dinner info I saw I could eat ANOTHER BURGER and the last 3 Oz of potatoes we had left and still be under 1500 calories for the day. I am riding high on having my stomach feel nice and stuffed but without the drawn down binge eating feeling that I used to have when I would stuff myself like this. The even better news is that with the 90% -10% beef patties being so low in calories AND biting the bullet in using a multi grain english muffin, I will have a filling and tasting food to still be able to eat come summer camp outs and things. I had always assumed that burgers were just going to not be a part of my life while cutting down all this weight but was proven wrong by the numbers tonight! Nothing like burgers on a warm summer night with friends.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I start week 3 of this journey tomorrow bright and early with the usual gym routine.

How good is it, that you are eating good quality food, exercising & feeling great? How much has changed in the last month? You are doing so well.

Honestly its pretty awesome. I feel much better, my sleep has drastically improved. My overall attitude is whats really putting a pep in my step. There is nothing like going to the gym every morning and starting the day off "winning" by accomplishing just the task of working out. Other things are falling into place. Even my wife over the past week has taking to this whole eating healthier or what I like to call it, Conscience eating!

Take tonight for example. My dad missed eating dinner with my wife and I, so he said "Come over for some chicken stir fry. I wont put any butter in the rice. The stir fry sauce will be mostly water with a splash of worcestershire, soy sauce, a pinch of sugar. It was Chicken, Mushrooms and onions. " He laughed cause I brought my scale over and picked some chicken out and weighed it. All I did was get my cup of rice, and my 4.1 Oz of chicken then just a spoonful of some mushroom, onion and the juice. It was really low calories meal. So much so that now before I write up my daily "report" I am having a serving of my chili and a cup of rice just to get myself up to 1400 Calories for the day!

I credit this place to so much of my drive too. Giving myself a place to write down and reflect what I have had during the day paired with reading others journey just makes me feel good about everything I am currently doing!

Hopefully by this music festival in May I will be somewhere around 230lbs and feeling good with my shirt off hahah

Today was an awesome day in the gym. I put the bike on Random, resistance mode and just pumped through it! My calorie burn for my 40 min + 4 min cooldown was around 45+ more calories burned then I would of with no resistance. I was able to best my time in completing my 10 miles from 38 to 35:37 minutes! I was motivated and in the zone. I still did my 60 second push at every 4 minutes and really surprised myself today!

Meal wise, as you will see below, was a bit of an odd one. I hate my usual breakfast...A huge plate of food for lunch, and a healthy dinner that my dad had invited me over for. I miss his cooking so much, but its just so bad for me. He loves butter and everything not nice hahaha! After his meal when I got home and plugged in everything I ate for dinner - minus the small amount of mushroom and onions, I was still under 1000 calories for the day. So currently I am eating my 2nd dinner, even thought im a bit stuffed, just to get to a decent calorie mark.

Tomorrow another snow storm is coming. Our 4th big storm this month! Im hoping the tend of it holding off so I can get my morning work out at the gym in continues. I took yesterday off SO I NEED to get in there tomorrow bright and early. Hope everyone is having an awesome week.

Ive been so strict on myself and I am a little upset about this for not only going over 1500 calories but going over my recommended 1630 Calories a day by MyFitnessPal.

Tomorrow is another day and week 3 begins.

Current Weight 248 lbs

Read these 2 excepts from your last post & connect the two & please stop berating yourself because you ate a little more than usual. Food is fuel. You are doing well & have lost 9lbs in 2 weeks. Excellent! :)
