My fresh start

Hopefully I won't lose this post before I post it.

Yesterday and today are my weekend, so yesterday I went for a 14km walk, my foot seems to be much better, but it was a little sore today. After the walk I went to town and had lunch and did some shopping with my mum which was fun. we went to a mediterranean restaurant and had these super thin base pizzas that just had tomato, fresh basil and some mozzarella (small amount), so I think that was pretty healthy, I also had a wheat beer which was really yummy. Last night was my work do, so 2 glasses of wine there and some finger food for dinner, again I didn't over do it. I had my tightest jeans on so could't eat too much without feeling sick.

I've just mowed some of the lawns today ready for my niece and nephew to come round. I'm on a rest day, but will still be pretty active all day today, ending with some drinks with friends in town tonight. I'll be driving so will limit to 2 glasses of wine again.

I've still got quite a bit to do before christmas but not sure when I'll get it done... better write a list!

Yesterday I was the lightest I've been this year 97.3kg so i'm very happy about that, i'm determined to do christmas in moderation and keep up the activity to offset extra cals.

Wow...14km walk, that sounds pretty hard out. How long does that take?

97.3....awesome stuff. What a cool feeling to know its the lightest you've been all year : )
I havn't looked all the way through your diary, but what's the goal weight ect. your'e after? Keep up the good work and don't enjoy yourself toooo much over Christmas! (I'm really worried about this, as I'm staying with Mum and Dad for a few days and its all chocolates, sweets, and BBQs with them. Im taking my shakes though lol)

Congrats on the long time low weight. Your walk was almost 9 miles! Wow that must have taken close to three hours.

Good job. My feet really start to hurt after about 6 miles, but I remember I used to walk it in two hours when I'd walk to work on nice days.

well done achieving your lightest weight this year so far :) and 14k is a good distance to achieve for your walk.

Hey Anna - wow - you worked those new-shoes of yours - 14K...terrific !
:hurray:
& new LIGHT for the year ....way to go for going into Xmas- all that hard-work payed off,
best of luck with your to-do list...U will get it done...amazing how efficient folks can be when we have a deadline & some pressure... I've got lots of last-minute pre-xmas to finish up too ( house cleaning-ick! )...

cheers gal, enjoy the Xmas visits - that's the best part of this Season !

Hey all, thanks for the positivity.

The 14 km took 2hours 40min approx. I've been following a half marathon walking training plan. It culminates in an event which I can't do in Feb because of work, but I thought I'd follow the training anyway. My foot was a little sore yesterday (a rest day) and I did a shorter walk today than planned because of time constraints as much as anything.

I'm trying to have 2 good days today and tomorrow, and then Tuesday I'll write off. Wed will be a big active day cause all my family are coming out to our house and we'll be starting a new tradition of a cricket match. We've also got a badminton net set up and I'm organising a treasure hunt as well. It should be a fund time. My plan is for hubby and I to do a walk in the mountains on the 27th, but not sure if that'll happen, we might just need to have a cuppa and a lie down!

I hope you are all getting sorted for the next few days, and Merry Christmas to anyone reading this.

Hey Anna - good work on keeping up your half-marathon training routine - a structure is good motivation... glad to hear the foot is not too bad.

Hope your Xmas festivities are fun - such a good idea to include a bit of "exercise" with the cricket, badmington and treasure hunt at your place - your whole family will benefit from your healthy focus gal.

Wishing you a Merry Xmas too !

Hey all. Hope you all had a fun Christmas. I totally pigged out at Christmas eve dinner and Christmas lunch, but I'm back in the bandwagon today.

I did a 10 km walk this morning, and I've had a low eating day, so I'm back on the weight loss train.

B Weetbix milk sugar and coffee
L 3 egg omelette w ham and cheese and onion and tomato
S 2 scorched almonds
D steak mashed potato and salad
S hot chocolate and small piece chocolate

Cal deficit about 1000!

Hey Anna - no worries on the Xmas dinner &lunch - I think the 1-2 days more eats is not a big deal....it's letting those days become a whole week that makes the scale unhappy

Good work getting bak-on trak with 10k walk & healthy eats today.

cheers,
maryann

Exactly Maryanne, everything in moderation....especially moderation. I think we all know that consistency is the key, but it's sometimes hard it remember that day to day.

I've just been for an 8km walk and am going for a swim this afternoon.

One of my activity goals is to do 2 physical things on my days off and 1 on my work days. Today is a day off so a walk and a swim.

Good work on the exercise. I also ate lotsa tasty stuff on Christmas but also made sure not to do "seconds" and just eat some of everything. I feel like people put forth effort to cook all this yummy stuff, I feel obligated to eat some of it all. I figure I can only gain as many pounds as the food actually weighs anyway. :)

I have just had 2 very good days. I just need to keep doing that for the rest of forever! Yay.

B Weetbix milk coffee sugar
L pita bread hummus 2 kranskys
S cashews 30g
D roast beef mashed potatoes peas
S hazelnut and choc biscotti and hot Chocolate.

Cal deficit about 1000!

Hey Anna - yup - it's our day-to-day that leads to success
- and YEs Yes on forever.... for health, for peace of mind - the healthy choices are for life, not just for a week or a month.... U R thinking smart gal !

Good work on the exercise & 2 Good days- keep it coming !!

3rd good day!

I made gingerbread houses with my niece and nephew, but I didn't have any of the candy, although I did have a cream filled brandy snap at lunch time, I quickly worked that off with a couple of hours of gardening when I got home.

B poached eggs, English muffin, bacon, coffee
L breadroll salami tomato etc brandy snap
S mango
D frittata w beef and green beans etc
S small chocolate.

net cals 1200

Hey Anna - good work on balancing the cookie with some exercise- calorie burning gardening.

A gal I work with ( who's slim)- makes a habit of hitting her exercise bike for a longer-session , whenever she feels she has indulged in a bit xtra food.- appears to work for her !

cheers,
Maryann C.

4th good day yesterday, not quite as much exercise as I planned for, but cals in and out were ok. I got a massive headache last night, and really wanted some sugary foods, so I had a chocolate christmas tree decoration, about 15 grams I reckon, so definately a good treat! I'm at work this morning, but hope to hit the streets this afternoon for a big walk, and tomorrow I'm aiming to do a bigger walk before hitting the new years eve fun.

yesterday
B toast and peanut butter
l leftover frittata
s orange and banana
d hamburger patty and salad and potato
s chocolate decoration

net cals about 1300

Today I thought I'd fail on exercise. I find it hard after an early start to keep motivated, but today I planned ahead for a short nap (ended up being 2 hours) and then I woke up and had a snack of cashews( pre-measured) and then went for a walk to the end of the road and back which turned out to be about 11km total! Go me. I'm loving daylight saving, I got home from the walk at about 7 pm and then Steve and I decided to head out for dinner at about 8, I treated myself to a glass of wine, and we shared a seafood platter... I went easy on the fried stuff and mostly had the fresh salmon and steamed prawns etc. yum yum.

B 1 toast and 2 eggs butter, coffee
S orange
L 1 toast w tin salmon
S cashews
D seafood low carb 1 glass of bubbly coffee

Net cals 1000 - a little low, but I'm sure I'll be drinking a couple of glasses of wine tomorrow night which will make up for it.

Happy New Year everyone.

then went for a walk to the end of the road and back which turned out to be about 11km total!
Holy moly! That's some road. I didn't even know New Zealand was more than 5 km wide. Of course I learned all I know about New Zealand from Xena Warrior Princess, so maybe I'm not well informed. :D
