I have 23 pounds to lose.

Height: 5 ft 7 inches

Weight: 165

Goal Weight 142

Daily Calorie Intake Allowed: 1650

Daily Calorie Burn Required: 973

Calories Consumed Today: 1400

Calories Burned Today: 1400

(hmmm, just realized the calories consumed and burned today are the same...interesting)

Today's Workout was: 60 minute Chest and Back workout (AM), a 2.38 mile run in the AM, and a 2.53 mile walk in the PM. I also added my sitting around all day at work and the fitness tracker calculated that as 450 burned...! I walked around a bit during work probably about a mile but didn't add that...

I'm thinking perhaps I should consume more calories during the day but I haven't felt an energy drain yet so I'll keep it at 1650 for a few more days to see.

Calorie counting and fitness tracking are a new thing for me, I hope it helps keep me focused on my goal.

And so...the battle is joined...!

Hey 23 pounds to lose is achievable, i am the same height as you but im alot heavier, im 222 pounds so i am majorly jealous of u right now:)

Cant wait to see your updates, and welcome to the forum:):)

Thanks for the welcome. I'm so glad to be in a place where people are serious about losing weight. People I talk to at work seem kind of bored listening to me talk about these things. But all of the people here are serious about getting healthier and losing weight is as important to them as it is to me :) Hang in there girl!!

Calories Consumed Today: 1680 (Blush...I went over by 30 calories)

Calories Burned Today: 1080

Todays workout was a 30 minute core workout (it was supposed to be 60 minutes but I woke up late..!) A 2.39 mile lunchtime walk and a 2.87 mile evening walk. Again I added the sitting around at work/meeting stuff in the fitness tracker as well.

Tomorrow is a run day and an arms day....

Edited to add...trying to work on getting enough sleep. I drink wayy too much coffee too close to bed time! I'm going to have to buy decaf, because I love to have a cup of coffee as sort of a nightcap..

Yeah, hang in there, girl! They just don't know how it's like to be overweight and wanting to lose the lbs. Here, we all have the same goal in mind!

Calories Burned: 1074

Workout Today: legs 45 minutes, Evening Walk 1 hour 14 minutes.

Today started off bad because I woke up late because I'm off work today. Did the workout but not the run..!! So, in the fitness tracker I thought of all the things I did and added them into it (like car washing and driving ...).. Because I woke up late I didn't have breakfast and that seriously reduced my calorie intake which is good because I didn't do much burning...!!

I've noted that after almost two weeks of serious concentration on weight loss I'm even more dedicated to beating this weight issue. I don't know what the scale will say Monday when it's time for my weekly weigh-in but it better be good!

Calories taken in: 1497

Calories Burned: 1558

Workout Today: Core workout 45 minutes. AM Run 30 minutes. Evening walk 2 hours 9 minutes. Did yard work as well.

I'm glad this diary is available here. I can look back eventually and see what I did to lose weight.

This is Sunday, my house cleaning day....I am coming here I think to avoid my chores...

This evening I'm going to go for a hike in the woods but before that, I have to think of some way to burn calories...House cleaning will help but it still won't be enough to meet my goal of at least 973 burn for the day. Either I will have to make an extra long hike this evening or think of another activity to do which doesn't involve walking a lot! My dog is a wonderful walking/running partner but she does have her limits. Also, I've already worked out 6 days this week. I don't want to workout.

Tomorrow is weigh in day. I've never measured myself, but I'm going to measure myself tomorrow as well. I think the working out for the past two weeks has helped my waist size, I see a difference. I hate looking at my back in the mirror but I'm going to work up the courage to look at it tomorrow too, once a week....ewwwww.

I think at the end of September I'm going to make another appointment to have my metabolism and fat/muscle composition measured again at the nutritionist. I want to see if the working out has made any changes.

Time to get cleaning.

Sounds like you're doing fantastic--Very committed! Remember to give your body time to rest! 6 work-outs in one week is lots! Good job :D

Sunflower---thanks, I want to lose this so bad that I'm willing to do anything short of having somebody cut it out of me lol. But I know the only way to get this off and keep it off is the healthy way, eat right and exercise.

Today's Stats, Calories eaten: 1403

Calories burned: 1000

Todays Activity: House cleaning and a 6.3 mile walk.

Fitness tracker says I've burned 2180 calories more than necessary to lose the 1.5 pounds this week. I hope that means I've lost another half pound than originally planned. But, I have a feeling I've built up muscle to replace some fat. Will find out tomorrow morning.

Weekly Weigh-In Result: 163.5

Last Week: 165

Based on my calorie tracker, my daily calorie intake changes this week to 1636 (14 less than last week)

and the number of calories I have to burn every day changes to 968 (5 less than last week)

Today's Stats:

Calories eaten: 1520

Calories burned: 1140

Todays Activity: 64 minute workout (Chest and Back); AM Run 39 minutes; Evening Walk 1 hour 14 minutes

Well I lost a pound and a half according to my weekly weigh in. That gives me three pounds lost for two weeks. My waist looks smaller but I don't know because I didn't measure it last week. So today, I measured the fattest part of my stomach right under the belly button: 38.75. I also looked at my back and took a picture. It will be a good before picture.

Calories eaten: 1468

Calories burned: 1334

Todays Activities: This morning Cardio calisthenic workout 54 minutes; am walk 45 minutes, pm walk 1 hour 9 minutes. Various activities during the day which I entered into the tracker which came up with the 1334...

Tomorrow is another day.

Calories eaten: 1900 (almost 300 over :-(

Calories burned: 1303

Activities: 35 minutes arms workout; AM 39 minute run; PM 1 hr 12 minute walk

Sunflower--Thanks. Your kind words motivate me :) I think I'm at the point where if I don't work out, nothing is going to happen with weight loss. At one point, I could just diet and not really exercise much and the weight kind of melted. But now, it's not so easy.

Calories eaten: 1445

Calories burned: 1037

Activities today: Lunch time cardio/calesthenic workout 46 minutes (a very sweaty one)...evening walk 1 hour 11 minutes.

I slept too late to do a workout in the AM so, I did it at lunch. That's just about unheard of for me. It's a measure of my desperation to get rid of my unsightly pounds. My pounds are all concentrated in my stomach and back. In most women, I think the pounds are spread out over the body. But for me, they're all concentrated upper body, all 21 pounds of fat sitting right in my stomach and overhanging my sides (although those overhangs are getting infinitesimally smaller thank God). Looking in the mirror at my stomach and back gives me great incentive to keep this up, so I'm doing that daily now...and the more I look, the more I frown, and well, the more motivated I get!

P.S. I'm starting to think I set my goal weight too high...I think I might have more than 21 pounds of excess fat...perhaps there's about 30 pounds of it there, but time will tell...

Burn baby Burn...

Hey kj67, welcome to the diary section of the forum!

Burn baby burn...wow, girl, you are rocking the exercise...I still worry you are not eating enough! May sound strange, but I bet your nutritionist might say the same. You might consider listening to a podcast called "fat2fitradio.com" and looking at the BMR and your lifestyle on their website...you might find that you are putting your body in starvation mode and it will not give up the weight until you convince your metabolism that it's not going to starve...it's what I'm doing right now and it seems to help. Also, do you have a % bodyfat scale? With all that exercise, I gotta believe your bodyfat is coming down even if the scale is not moving (like mine is not!). Take what you like and leave the rest...that's what this forum does...gives us support and additional info we might not get otherwise!
