Glad your feeling better now. It must be awful having to watch what you eat so closely. How often do you get ill? I noticed you eat a lot of dairy, is that becasue of your stomach?

Your doing really well :D

Hey Mrs. Shadow :)

I have to catch up on your diary. I love reading about what you've eaten...it always sounds so good!

Hi Xenon - lovely to hear from you again!

And you, too, Rainbow. :) I have a few health problems, some of which I am hoping will improve as I lose weight. But the diverticulitis...ugh...what a pest it is! I haven't had it for a few months this time, until I took a foolish risk by eating onions. I really thought I could get away with it, but I need to remember that the gut is pretty fragile, so unless I have surgery - which I do NOT want - the tendency is always going to be there if I overdo the fibre, and/or the vegies. And of course nuts and seeds are now a part of my past.
I haven't deliberately increased my intake of dairy foods, but I guess yes, I have increased it. The yoghurt I am hoping will help the tum a little, although I mainly eat it because I love it. And I do eat more cheese now, mostly to fill out my low-in-vegies plate.

But I am finally feeling a lot better. This is the first day since it started that I haven’t spent most of the day horizontal. Unfortunately all of this resting has been bad for my back – it needs me to keep moving. But it should settle in a day or two. I hope…

Saturday

Food:
2 coffees w/ cream

Mushrooms are a yes - not too much fibre, and no crunchiness, as with various cabbagey type vegies. I miss my vegies! I used to be such a vegie fan. Sigh.
Garlic is one that I really don't know. I have a wee bit now and then, but mostly just use garlic powder.

Didn't quite make the 10K steps yesterday, but am just gradually increasing. I can feel I am still a bit tired from the illness, so am being very careful. I'll get back to my workouts later in the week.

Sunday

Food:
2 coffees w/ cream – have been trying to cut down, but not succeeding…
homemade hamburger
fish korma curry

1300 cals, 47 carbs

9436 steps

ETA: I have decided to change the original weight on my ticker. It has been saying 101.9, because that's what I was when I restarted my weight loss efforts a couple of months ago. But earlier this year I was 107, which is my heaviest weight ever. And I did lose that extra 5.1 kilos by golly, so I may as well document it. And I am pretty darned proud of losing nearly 15 kilos all up.

Yesterday was going well, until mid afternoon when a dirty great migraine kicked me in the head. And dear Mr Shadow, who knows I tend to want something sweet when I have migraines, bought me not one, but two choc covered ice creams on his way home from work! And of course, in my weakened state, I ate ‘em both.
I’m still feeling pretty lousy today, but am hoping I’ll pep up as the day wears on. Taking it easy for now though. Ugh. Just when I was starting to feel better too.

Monday

Food:
protein shake
chicken sausages and potato
croissant w/ ham and cheese
choc coated ice cream – two of them

too many cals and way, way too many carbs

6160 steps

Hey there Mrs Shadow! long time no see...

Sorry to hear about that Migrane :( they're horrible things.. and that is so sweet of Mr Shadow.. but naughty at the same time hahahaha

Well hope you're feeling better and power through this next week :)

Hiya, DMR! What a pleasant blast from the past! :)

Yesterday morning was a bit of a write-off, but by afternoon I was feeling much better. But I ate too much! Not really bad stuff, but just plain too much food. Sigh.

Tuesday

Food:
protein shake
beef casserole (that I should have eaten the night before)
yoghurt w/ peaches
beef rendang
peaches 'n cream

1600 cals, 44 carbs

10342 steps

Did better with the calories today. But I am not expecting much from tomorrow's weigh in. I seem to need to get a certain amount of exercise to shift those scales, let alone the overeating.

Wednesday

Food:
2 coffees w/ cream
yoghurt and peaches
grilled Italian sausages, bacon and feta w/ vinaigrette
chicken wings

1250 carbs, 17 carbs

12293 steps

Hi Mrs Shadow! Sounds like you've been having a bit of a rough trot. Hope you're feeling better!

And YAY for changing your ticker! I did that too a few months ago, and felt like I also needed to make a big disclaimer so people wouldn't think I was a cheater. But it's so great that you have lost so much already! And watching that ticker move is certainly motivating. :)

Thanks, DM! :)

I have been thinking a lot about my nutrition lately. While this week’s weight loss was probably a bit low because I was sick and unable to exercise as much, I didn’t really lose as much as I’d have liked the week before either.
So. I had a closer look at my macros, and I seem to be overdoing the protein. And not getting enough healthy fat. So for at least this week, I am making a concerted effort to keep my calories at or just below 1500, my carbs at or below 30, my protein between 60 and 75 and my fat as high as possible.

Thursday

Weight: 91.8 kg

Food:
2 coffees w/ cream
yoghurt
red salmon, bacon and mushrooms w/ ranch
pasta bol

1450 cals, 29g carbs, 69.5g protein, 115g fat (Sounds scary if you are not doing low carb, doesn’t it? :D)

17821 steps

Thanks, DM. And I did even better today, getting back over 20K.

I intend to get back to working out next week. I considered it today, but my back was a bit too sore. So I'll keep getting in as many steps as I can, thus helping the back to grow ever stronger. At least that's the plan.

Friday

Food:
2 coffees w/ cream
yoghurt
chicken sausages w/ potato
beef curry

1500 cals, 31 carbs, 63g protein

20656 steps

Bit too much pain for many steps on Sunday, but better yesterday.
Oh, and I overate a touch on Sunday. I can't seem to get past the whole "feed the pain" thing. Sigh. Still I overate on meat and fat, not carbs which is a start.

Oh my god, you changed to calorie counting and even break down the macros for fat, protein and carbs! Bloody hell, you are going all the way now. Good luck! When it gets tedious you can also just stick with total calories.
