MoonGoddess's Path

You know its going to be a good day when you get up hit snooze twice, finally check the weather - which said it was already 95 (thankfully that channel was wrong!), then race to get an outfit together that you can sweat in without pit stains showing since its so hot, get the dog out & try to get to work before you are late. Realize half way to work that you forgot to put on deodorant & don't have the extra one since you switched back packs last week. In the process of changing outfits you end up running even closer to being late & walking straight out the door, across the parking lot -followed by a male co-worker, across the lawn - which today is the day that they are cutting the grass, trimming the trees, etc so four male lawn care workers there, up the stairs past the full yoga studio about to start class, get to your office, say hi to a co-worker/friend who immediate yells "um...come back here a minute".

OH yes....

I WALKED AROUND WITH A BIG OLE WHITE BRA dangling out the back of my jeans!!!

It had gotten hooked on my tag when I was sitting on the bed getting dressed & I walked from there straight to the door since I was in a blurry eyed hurry! There it was swinging like a feminist tail from side to side as I strutted my stuff.

& of course this is at my job in HUMAN RESOURCES where just last month I was standing up in front of the whole staff at the two staff meetings going over a policy stating that "underwear should not be seen at work!"

At least I am able to laugh at myself & so far made a few people around here smile & laugh, which is better than making them mad!

Hope you are all having better days & that this made you smile too.

...tonight I get the outfit together BEFORE I go to sleep & yes I need more sleep. Hopefully the caffeine will kick in soon!

...at least I made it only 5 minutes late!

brilliant...

you actually needed to tell people that underwear shouldnt be seen at work? :D

thanksfor the morning giggle :D

but i think it'd only qualify as a feminist tail if it were on fire...

Lesson learned.. .toss out all the white lingerie and wear colors only.. >As god as my witness I'll never wear white bras again :D

I really don't either, but I have one... the one... for those days that I need to wear a white tee shirt. I hate white bras, which added to my decision to change outfits & pop on the black one. I feel much better with the black on.

If only it had been on fire... then I would have at least noticed it. :)

That bra story is a good one, lol... Stuff like that you can only help but laugh at. Too funny, hehe.

I try to do stuff the night before so I don't have to be in a huge race in the morning.... I'm not that good at it though, and right now I'm back in the habit of sleeping clear until I absolutely have to get up for work...

one of these things helps

I use it for my gym clothes - so I always can grab a pile and stuff it in my bag -otherwise I was forgetting something - ya know socks, tshirt, sports bra, hair band.. something - so my five piles keep me organized :D

That organizer is too funny!... & probably would come in handy way too often. I know there are some days where I have to wonder if I am wearing something I have already worn this week & if anyone would notice.

I do try to do as much the night before as I can, but I seem to change my mind on clothes to fit the day & the weather forecast. Seems like it changes overnight sometimes. Oh well. I can add that to my life lessons & experiences list!

...another thing I might add is to be the team captain for the Light the Night walk in town! We had someone drop by & ask if we would create a team for the charity walk & the marketing director redirected it to me. She want to be on the team, just not organizing the team. Sounds fun to me. Why not? Might as well do it once & the walk sounds exciting. For some reason the thought of a race kinda overwhelms me, but this walk for a reason doesn't. Guess I don't really like the competitive edge. I know I wouldn't be any where near the lead dog & that makes me feel weird. Perfectionism rearing its ugly head? dunno. At least with this its a group effort. No one trying to beat anyone else. Plus its only two miles in the downtown area. Everyone participating gets a balloon that lights up from the inside, so it should be something to see!

Have to figure out all the details, but for now I am excited & it gives me something to work toward. Inspiration to move more often. Not that the two miles is a big distance, but I don't want to have to even worry about it. Plus I can get my friends involved... the ones who seem to have fallen off the pedometer challenge. I do have one friend who is still logging in the steps & so far she seems to be getting more than me, so I need to change that!

That sounds like fun...

You gonna get cool tshirts? :D

OOOOH fun toys

Do you have a budget? :D

It's interesting -Iwas looking at that walk earlier today in chicago.. it's a great cause..

No budget.

Barely got the ok since my boss worries about people complaining about everything. I had to agree to work on it off the clock with the understanding that I would use company office supplies to print stuff out. We already have company t-shirts that we could wear, but I am aiming for us each to get one of the official t-shirts to wear that night! Maybe add some fun flair. I could spring a little bit to reward everyone.

plus lighted up balloons is just to cool to pass up!

and don't forget - you're walking for all those people who can't :D yeah it's good steps for you.. but it's a Leukemia/Lymphoma society are a really good cause...

I started getting back into training (er... off my duff mode) last night. Didn't amount to much but I did get back on the treadmill for about 10 minutes... then the stinking phone rang & I got distracted. So I need to put it on vibrate & just ignore it til I get ready to check the voice mail. I am glad I got back on the treadmill. Just sad it was just for so little a time. Either way its going to take dedication to get back into the habit of conscientiously working out each day. Its like they say, if at first all you can do is get to the gym, its a step in the right direction.

Tonight Burgos has promised to take me on a walking date. Either by the River or to a local park. I got signed up for the walk & set up a page to take donations, so one more step in that direction. I have fully made the commitment & have 7 others on board at this point.

& Mal, you are so right. I am doing this for a GREAT cause. I get a little emotional thinking about cancer & hopefully I can use that emotion as motivation to push me back into the habits I need to have to achieve this goal I have set. :)

Good job on signing up for that walk. I also am fundraising for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The marathon I am training for in October is partly for me and also for blood cancer research. Good luck to you while you train!!

You are taking the right steps:)Little steps on foot at a time:)!!!You wil get there agian, and anythign is better than nothing. You and the man still going strong ?

We are going strong. Spent the weekend exploring some local sites & dining out in some smaller beach towns we don't normally end up in. Just had to get out of the house.

I am slightly frustrated at myself after this weekend. A friend died after a 2 year struggle with breast cancer & I know that she is in a better place, but I did the emotional thing of eating out (AKA overeating since you know those calories on that plate are way not in line with my eating goals). I'm ok & getting back on track. Just ready for those days where I find better ways of coping with life. I did at least go walk around a lot instead of just sitting at home.

I got the team packet with the banner we get to decorate & all the goodies including my team captain pin, which I am wearing proudly today! Something to look forward to.

Also I saw something in Dicks about a Human Race 10k which I want to check out. I think its that everyone logs on & does the 10k from where they are on the same day. Dunno. Have to check it out.

Just glad to be doing something good for people right about now. helping others DOES help yourself! :)

That's the Nike sponsored event on 8/31 - Starbucks has been doing a lot of advertising for it... some bigger cities will have an actual race -but run whereever you happen to be.. :D
