MoonGoddess's Path

I like the Lawry's marinades because they're easy, but you're right that they have HFCS as a key ingredient. I've taken to using their ingredient list as a recipe leaving out the crazy stuff.

Now I'm hungry for Hawaiian Pork Chops.

Definitely words hurt.

Just forget about it, you know you're lubbed by all of us! :grouphug:

aw.. you know I do love most of the crew here! Thanks. Like water off a duck's back... not thinking of that neg rep or comment anymore. Just funny. It was the first negative I got, but really, none of it matter much. I appreciate all the support & good friends here & those other creeps, just have to drop off my radar. Onward & upward.

Some days are just better than others.

Woke up today to see the scale heading back downward, still above the pre-christmas weight, but good to see a drop anyway. Gotta love a day off. So relaxing to know that the day is YOURS. Good to have the guy back too. I'm heating up some beef in the new crock pot for dinner & the smell is making me drool. Already entered it into sparkpeople & I am a bit under where I should be for calories. How does that happen somedays? yet others I am struggling to stay around 2000? Weird. Just have to enjoy some chocolate & wine at the end of the day... ah so hard. :)

Just hope I can get through New Years without too much damage. The goal is to take some healthier versions of stuff to the party & LIMIT the alcohol. Last year was binge city & lets just say I don’t want to repeat that night ever again. This year I am taking a bottle of Shiraz & a bottle of Champagne & that is ALL besides water I will be drinking. No beer this year since I know that I don’t know when to stop with that stuff. Also I am stopping with the champagne toast instead of a bottle & a half like last year! Eek.

I’m making sausage cheese balls again, but this time with turkey sausage which is lower fat. Just hard to find turkey sausage. Everything I have seen lately has been pork. Turkey just taste better to me. Also taking some veggies so I know we’ll have something lower calorie. I’m leaving the Chex Mix as is. Gotta live a little. I am just looking forward to making it all again & enjoying it & then LEAVING it all at the party at the end of the night instead of having it at my house for days of temptation!

I planned the New Years Day meal out & already picked up the veggies, so no pizza ordering & binging this year. I’m going to start the year off right. Turkey, garlic & cheddar omelets for breakfast, Grilled chicken, spinach & black eyed peas for lunch & then homemade lasagna for dinner.

I think planning ahead is going to help me this year. Also I have a sober driving cutie lined up to kiss me at midnight & I refuse to hit the bars. Just the dinner party. I don’t need the extra liquid calories.

You'll have to give us the recipe for the turkey sausage cheese ball.

BTW, I usually find turkey sausage in the freezer - next to the ground turkey in the "tubes".

Sounds like you're back on track!

Its simple.... 1lb sausage (lean turkey for me), 1 lb shredded cheddar, 2.5 cups bisquik. Mix it all together til it form one big ball. Takes some work. Then pinch off small bits & roll them into large marble sized balls & put them on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 18 minutes. They can be pretty close together on the cookie sheet. Not the healthiest of things, but for a seasonal treat its better than some things.

Watched the Panthers win again & jeez...I ate like a football player ..ug. Did ok at lunch having Smart Dogs instead of regular hot dogs, but I caved at dinner & had Taco Bell (Bean Burrito, Taco & a tostado...why I thought I needed all 3 I have no clue. ) then we ended up seeing the "Hot Donuts Now" sign at Krispy Kreme & since we were coming home to watch the Simpsons movie... just seemed to be a good idea....yeah... donuts a good idea? not really! Oh well. Got that craving out of my system at least. So I guess I need to add some extra cardio to the day!

Thanks everyone! Hope your New Years is treating you WONDERFULLY & you are all taking time to celebrate the progress you made in 2007, before you plan out the attack on 2008.

Last night went better than I thought it would. I ended up freaking out about what to where & thinking everything in the closet made me look even bigger (ever have those moments?) & was like an hour late to the party! Ended up missing the "meal" & just had the good stuff left out. Which ended up being what I would have wanted to eat anyway. So instead of chowing down on the beef, pasta, rice & all the souped up veggies in sauces with calorie counts so high I don't even want to know.. I just dined on the raw veggies, cheese balls, nuts, fruit, ...the good stuff. I ate the monkey bread but passed on the fudge & BEST OF ALL I REMEMBER THE ENTIRE NIGHT! Only had 2 glasses of wine & the tiniest of champagne toast!

I feel great about last night & think the planning ahead helped... even though I guess planning more on the outfit would have been better, eh whatta gonna do? :)

So on to today. On to black eyes peas & spinach for luck, health & wealth in the coming year.

We can do this!!! Good luck to us all in 2008! I WILL end it looking & most importantly feeling... GREAT!

Seems like you being late was a good thing!

And yes, I totally have days where I hate everything in my closet! Something I tried on the night before and looked so skinny in somehow managed to shrink overnight and now makes me look fat! I hate those days! :)

2008 will be a great year for us all!
