MoonGoddess's Path

grr... so last night I decided that I would get up early this morning & workout. the man has to leave my house at 5:30 so he can get to the base in time & I figured it would be good to get up & get my workout, shower, eat something healthy before heading into work. We seem to be going to sleep around the same time, so why not wake up?

nope... I am soooo not an early riser.

I just rolled my eyes & went back to sleep when he tried to get me up. The call from the alarm being set off at the store woke me up... 20 minutes before my usual alarm would have gone off, so I had time for the shower & to get ready.

I just don't have any energy that early. I'm in awe of all those who can rise & SHINE.

I just rolled my eyes & went back to sleep when he tried to get me up. The
wow he's got the wrong approach for waking you up then... a little morning- ummm' cardio' might do the trick...

and here i thought marines were always prepared and always ready :D

I am an early riser myself - but shine? so not gonna happen... :D

the boy and I need to have a conversation :D

gotta train these fellas sometimes.. he's in the military he should be used to taking orders :)

Well he was really sweet TRYING to wake me up & has already texted me to say sorry he didn't get me up & hoped I was having a good morning. So I forgive him.

I'm typically a really light sleeper, but sometimes I do go all comatose. Guess I needed the sleep. Boy do I have energy now. Found out the boss is not coming in until 12:30 today. Woooo whooooo! the whole mood of this office is so much lighter.
ahhhhhhhhh

Strange comment de jour....

Coworker I see daily: "Is that a new sweater?"

Me: "no, just dragged it out from the back of the closet this morning. Its a couple of years old, I just never wear it."

Coworker I see daily: "Its REALLY slenderizing."

huh? :ack2: I think what you mean is it looks good?! Slenderizing? So basically I look like a fat ass every other day but today I could pass as ok in your eyes? ug. whatevah biotch.

:( now whatever will I wear tomorrow?

Good god I am contagious... :D someone pays you a compliment and you go right for the negative... :D

No you look good every day but you look especially slender today... :D maybe it was marine glow that was doing it :D

It was just weird the way they said it.

Like wow.. you can actually not look like a barge. Gee... thanks. Plus it was coming from someone who might weight 110 lbs wet. Guess it just hit me wrong.

Other than that I am enjoying the day so far.

besides Mal, look what you have accomplished... becoming more like you would be a great thing! Now, the walking 10 miles daily I would love to catch!

awwww :D
thanks...

some people are just thoughtless -like the person who some weeks ago asked me if I went on a makeover sshow because all of a sudden i was dressing nicely -like i wasn't capable of doing it on my own :D

I got a 'compliment' from my mother about a year ago. I was ironing something and had my hands spread out over the garment keeping it straight on the ironing bored. My mother commented on how cute and tiny my hands were and I was confused a bit. I asked her what she was comparing them to to consider them tiny and she said 'Well the rest of you.' She totally had to back pedal on that one. I had to laugh. Now our joke is that my hands now match the rest of me.

Or the time my cousin asked me if I'd ever been this skinny before and I laughed saying no I've always been a fat cow since birth, but thanks!

The same cousin, my sister and I just recently went to the outlets here in Delaware and I bought a new coat to which i got comments from both of them on how good the coat makes me look. My response... 'I make the coat look good!'

Sorry that the half-marathon didn't work out for you. The good news is that there are hundreds of them throughout the US each year and there will be plenty of opportunities in the future. I just ran my first half-marathon last weekend and it was an amazing experience. Best of luck to you and congrats on your weight loss!

Casey... that's awesome that you completed yours. I'm sure the experience was something you just can't convey online with words. So are you ready to do it again or ready to relax a bit & just workout for fun & fitness?

Emily... I love that statement. 'I make the coat look good!' I am certainly going to have to remember that for next time. & the tiny hands thing is kinda funny. I'm sure that you are/were perfectly proportioned but in my head you had Barbie sized hands on a typical human sized body! Mothers just have a certain way of putting things sometimes.....

I am contemplating running another half-marathon in April. Right now I'm just focusing on getting rid of the 5 lbs. I gained when I quit smoking and staying fit.

As for "insider tips," I really don't have that many. Find a schedule that's flexible, and don't beat yourself up if you have to miss a run (try to complete all the long runs, though). Have fun with it. A lot of people train in partners or groups for half-marathons, but I really enjoyed getting a few hours each week all to myself. And of course, invest in great running shoes and clothes that fit and won't chafe. Up your calories, because you'll need extra fuel. That's about all I can think of.

Hello!! :)
Lol, it's so funny how sometimes we take compliments so wrong. I mean, we all do it, but sometimes the person giving the compliment is just trying to be nice and start a conversation. I mean, even 110 women have fat days and maybe she was envious that you have a good eye for what will look good on your body.
I dont know! But I just have to laugh.
Once I had a cute new grey boat neck top and my manager said "is that new? it makes your arms look skinny" at that point I WAS skinny, and I didn't take offense, I just agreed...

Anyways, I hope you are doing great and I hope to be around here more :)

Hey MG!! Just dropping by to say hello. Try not to over analyze the sweater comment...I know we all do it but just smile and say thank you and forget about it. You are beautiful!!

Don't worry too much about what your co-worker said to you. I think she meant well but didn't use the best word for her statement. Slenderizing....

I'm not that much of a morning person either but, I do exercise mostly in the mornings. Once I can drag myself out of bed and wake up some I'm usually okay, it's just getting to that point that is the hard part... Usually if I get my ass up and go run at the gym I feel amazing for the rest of the day.

I keep hearing how working out in the morning starts the day off right & you have more energy.... I just can't seem to find the motivation to get my engine going that early. Or maybe its that I had problems sleeping for so long that I appreciate any amount of sleep I can get so waking up anything more than 45 minutes before I have to be at work just doesn't seem worth it. Amazing what a nice man beside you will do to help you sleep through a night! :D

Today was insane. I typically hate crowds & therefore avoid shopping, but tis the season & it seems I couldn't get everything I needed online, so I had to brave a trip out & about... jeez... people are CARAZEEEEE.... is it really necessary to go top speed in a parking lot to get inside as quick as possible to slam around the aisles with your cart then do the snails pace waiting game at the registers. I hate the whole experience. Not to mention all the crap at the malls lately. Its just dangerous. The tragedy in Nebraska, then the mall near my parents some lady drove her car into the parking deck (& I do mean INTO it - rammed it) & the whole thing crashed down. crap. Just makes me enjoy my nice quiet time at home with my beautiful tree even more.

I got thinking more about the half marathon thing today & thought, I should still train. Maybe try to do the same mileage that day, just locally instead of with the rest of the world at Disney. Dunno....

I don't get the whole morning workout thing - I'm an early riser, but it's a lot of effort to get out of bed, shower, make sure my shoes match,. pour a cup of coffee and head for the train... the idea of having to get dressed - work out - shower and get dressed again - way too much efort...

I'll half marathon train with you... can we do that 1000 miles apart? :D I'm serious by the way... I do want to run the 2008 chicago marathon...

You can totally do the Chicago one.. with the way you train & that its NEXT October, you will be ready to fly past everyone else by then.

I just realize how friggin close Jan 12 is... yeah.. so maybe not going to do the half distance then... especially with all the holiday chaos to disrupt training & routines & stuff. I'm lucky to get in 30 minutes most days. Maybe it will be my new year's resolution. Til then I can plan out the program... dunno.

Had my first therapy session with a new therapist, which went well but always seems to open up a can of worms emotionally. Course the boss came up a few times. Felt great to get some of it out, but now I just feel drained.

Funny moment that made me smile... partially into it, she stopped me & had to tell me I am the spitting image of Drew Barrymore. She claimed I must hear it all they time... actually nope. My sister has been told it once or twice, & in high school there were some awkward moments when I got Christina Applegate -it hasn't happened in years, but never Drew Barrymore. I need to check out some more pics.... plus I'm having a great hair day today! :)
