well I got my laugh for the day.... a customer just called her a Nazi! This customer also happens to be ON THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS!!! Not 100% sure what started the tift but its cracking me up. Can't wait to see where this rabbit hole leads us!

& I totally am hating today in this office. I treated myself to a piece of brie for lunch (with some good high fiber crackers) & a slice of pumpkin pound cake (to diet for!) ... then an office mate brings around WARM BLUEBERRY PIE! ug.... I am a bad bad girl. Must burn extra calories today! Seems I'm not the only stress eater in this place! At least I haven't reached for the Dr Pepper! Water all the way.
 
Wow... yesterday was nice. I just slept away most of the day & did some online shopping, but alas NO EXERCISE! eek. Luckily I am already awake today so fitting in two workouts should be ok.

I put this on the recipes section of the forum, but why not try here too?

Anyone know of a pecan pie recipe that isn't slam packed with high fructose corn syrup(aka Karo syrup)? I'm trying to stay away from HFCS, but I do love some pecan pie & the family would kick my butt for not making one. I'm thinking I will sneak & make it the afternoon right before I drive to my parents so I might be able to get away with making a healthy version without them knowing about it..... we shall see. Still trying to figure out time lines & such. Anyway if anyone knows of a healthy version I would love to know about it. Thanks.

Oh its insane the amount of time, money & stress that goes into this ONE meal (& all the meals of leftovers that follow).

So evidently my boss isn't just making me want to die, she has made my body simulate the feeling.

I tried to do the check in & see how I was doing. So in between work & a staff meeting yesterday, I speed walked/jogged a mile to see if my time was getting better & give me a point to try to beat. Then I tried to check my beats per minute & danged if it took me FOREVER to find a pulse! I know it had dropped by the time I finally located something. Tried the wrist, the neck... then of course my blonde ass just can't seem to separate counting heartbeats with counting seconds. I even reverted back to ballet days counting 1, 2, 3 ,4, 5, 6, 7, 8, - 1, 2, 3 ,4, 5, 6, 7, 8 - 1, 2, 3 ,4, 5, 6, 7, 8. ug. This is going to take some practice. I KNOW my 15 seconds worth of heartbeats after a workout was NOT 15. One day I will get the hang of all this.

I will never forget high school biology class and practically failing a lab because I couldnt find my pulse -I still cannot...

according to my blood pressure monitor though, digital becausse I'm pretty retarded, my resting pulse rate is still too high though :(
 
I had to call my sister the medical wiz. She tried to guide me to different points to find it & then just told me I should really ask for a heart rate monitor for xmas. gee... so you are saying is I'm pretty much hopeless. Now she is determined to "teach me" over Thanksgiving & made a note to be sure to bring home her stethoscope. grrrreat. Just what I wanted to do... why did I call her. Now I will be failing that bio lab over the vacation!
 
you can supposedly find your pulse by putting your finger right nder your jaw line -close to your ear... the problem is that I can't multi-task and count and feel the pulse at the same time :)

That is exactly my problem. I don't know how people just do it. Especially after they have just run their butt off & are panting. All seems weird to me. I want to be that dedicated, knowledgeable athlete, but it seems like another life. One day we will get there.

(or at least pay for the gadgets sooner or later to get us there!)
 
I'm of the personal belief that they're not doing a blessed thing -just trying to look like they are :) ever ask them what their pulse is? no - they just run - stand around stare at their watch iwth their fingers on their neck and then keep going...

I am going with the old favorite recipe with the not so great for me ingredients. I mentioned that I wanted to try a new recipe & got nothing but grief from my family. They want "grandma's pie". Well grandma has been dead for over 12 years so NO ONE is getting her pie, but I guess I can't change ANYTHING. Mind you no one wants to help make anything. But the deal is my mom pays for it, dad does the dishes & I cook. The other idiots just complain if I want to change any lil piece of the menu. Oh well traditions. I am glad one of us learned how to do the recipes since it seems like it would be a nightmare not to have everything just so. Ug. THANKFULLY its only ONCE per year!
 
I agree. Thank god Thanksgiving is only once per year, lol. I bet your pie will be delicious. Who cares what everyone else wants, your the one cooking it, right??? This year I work on Thanksgiving, so I will be at work until 7pm. My dad is having something at his place at like 4, so I will miss that. It's fine by me, I don't really want to see his wife anyhow. I haven't talked to her in about 10 months, and I don't really want to start now just because of the holidays. I think my bros are going, and 2 of them havent talked to her in 10 months either, so it might be interesting.... I think they are giving me a plate of left overs though :)

Oh the temptations start.... I made two batches of cookies last night & a pumpkin pie. I will have to start the pecan & some other stuff tonight when I reach my parents house. I so wanted to pig out, but I was good & splurged on ONE sugar cookie. It was sooo good. But it was better than I was actually able to stop at the one. I wanted more, but I made it through the night just fine without eating more!

yeah.. well today isnt going so great. I ran late for work & ended up hitting the drive thru for an egg & cheese biscuit & LARGE sweet tea. Then the man shows up for lunch with Chic-fil-a combos. Ug.. why is bad food so good??

I WAS going to be good til tomorrow, but dang!

& I just know my parents aren't going to have any healthy ideas for dinner tonight & forget me fixing dinner... tomorrow's meal is enough for me to be fixing. I still have some prep to do for that tonight!
