Ok, here goes. I've never actually put my real weight in print or in words, EVER, so this is the biggest & toughest step for me, but I need to get slightly out of my comfort zone anyway. Bombs away!
Height: 6'2" (yep, that's tall for a girl)
cw: 215
gw: 195 (at least for now, we'll see how I feel there)
start date: 3/1/06
target deadline: 5/31/06 -3 months! (going to a friend's beach wedding)
methods: healthy eating (more veggies, less icecream), regular exercise (goal is 4x or more a week), and avoiding pastries like they're the bird flu!
I've been keeping myself on a 1950 cal diet per day, I had my resting metabolic rate checked with the "body gem" and I use about 2300 cal a day at rest (I'm pretty muscular and tall, so I guess I'm lucky, I've done the 1200 cal thing and it's really tough) but I find it hard to restrict myself for prolonged periods of time - aren't all princesses spoiled? I avoided scales when I was at my absolute heaviest (sometime within the past 10 years) but I think from some doctor's visit I accidentally saw I had been around 275. I was peeking through my fingers (really, I was that scared of it) so I hope that's not what I saw, but I think it was.
So I was terrified into action, and have fought off that first 60 pounds over the past 3 years or so, but I've been more or less stuck in the same 5 pound window here for close to a year. I'm ready to move on, and make peace with my thighs.
I didn't exercise yesterday, but I did the day before, and I will tonight. Now that I've said it I don't want to be a liar! Good luck to everyone out there, take it slow!
