MicheeH's Journey to a Healthier Lifestyle

Hey again, I'm super impressed by your food log! I tried to keep one on my own but counting the calories became tedious after a while. I wish I could stick to a healthy meal plan like that! I usually end up skipping breakfast or binging or something like that which is never good =/

I'm not sure if you're doing this alreayd, but one suggestion I have is to try having egg whites on your breakfast wrap in the morning instead of regular eggs. It cuts out a lot less calories and doesn't taste much different =)

keep up the good work!:D

Thanks cheergrl! I find that if i document my food or even plan it ahead i stick to whats healthy a bit more...although..if youve read more of my diary i also have messed up a few times but i guess that happens. I definitely am trying to eat only the egg whites when i have eggs from now on. The yolk tastes so good to me tho so i just have it like twice a week instead of everyday or everytime i have eggs.

Still no exercise involving legs for me today. Just lots of ibuprofen, and tender care as my knee is still throbbing and oozing (eww i know). I will try to do some abs and arms this evening tho since im feeling really horrible about not being able to work out. Maybe doing something will make me feel better. Went to the pharmacy last night and was told to keep an eye on my knee and surrounding area for redness and if it gets any worse a tetanus shot is in my near future...just great..ugh.

Food for today:
B-bagel with light cream cheese
S-strawberries
L-small poutine (bad me, onset=stress and pain)
S-apple, 12 almonds
D-tilapia and veggies
S-a few chips and salsa

ARRRGGHHHHH!! So im a little bit upset lately due to the fact that there has been no more movement on the scale and after my monthly friend came around i havent lost the extra bit of weight it brought back.....huge bummer and hugely unmotivating to me. Ive been eating right, doing my workouts, just being more active in general....and still no more lbs lost. Ugh very frustrating this is!

Nonetheless, i will keep at this and i will keep sticking to my goals. I knew this was going to take time when i started. I guess id just like to see some more progress so that i feel a bit more productive about doing it or else i think "well why the hell am i doing this".

Food for today:
B-1 cup cheerios, 1 cup milk, coffee with half hotchocolate
S-yogurt
L-salad with cucumbers and tomatos and tuna, 1 tbsp dressing
S-banana, 12 almonds
D-not sure yet

Workout for today:
HIIT:
6 rounds
30 second high intensity
60 second low intensity

Resistance:
crunches 2x15
crunches with twist 2x15
tricep dips 2x 15
wall pushups 2x15
squats 2x15
lying adduction 2x15
back extension 2x15
dumbell side lifts 2x15
seated knee lifts 2x15
kneeling rollout with ball 2x15

and of course a stretch afterwards.

Hey Michee,

First and foremost, you've gotta give this time. People too often want results NOW and end up giving up or changing things altogether way too soon. You haven't given enough time to the process to allow your body to adjust. So keep at it. When you're doing things on your own, it's a bit of a trial and error process.

Secondly, based on this entry, you did not eat enough food. Then I look at other days and your food choices aren't the greatest (nacho's, fruit, chocolate etc are not great pre-bed snacks).

Hi core_elements! Im here for motivation not to be perfect and certainly not for posts that contain next to no motivational words in them at all. Im certainly up for some criticism and suggestions but not without some nice words in between.

Firstly, I do understand that this will take time, hence why i also wrote in that post that nonetheless i will stick to my goals because i knew it would take time. Did you miss that part??

Secondly, I have been counting my calories everyday since i started this and everyday i am meeting between 1300-1800 cals a day (mostly staying on the higher end in order to leave room for when i may need to decrease the amount as i lose the weight). I do not understand why fruit is a bad snack to have before 9pm but maybe if you were to explain it to me rather than just telling me so i would consider other options. So what are some better options for before bed snacks?? Also, the nachos are whole wheat and the chocolate thins are 140 cals per 4 and i dont even eat 4 a night, nor am i eating them every night.

Next time you post here please do so in a more friendly manner, where i can feel good about my goals and progress in TRYING to change my lifestyle, thanks. Suggestions are more than welcome but please carry them thru because u telling me what is not good does me no good at all for gaining knowledge

Hey lady!
Your knee looks awful... but at least you have a sweet story to go with it. Good for you for being so adventurous! Looks like you are doing great.... regardless of the injury.

Hey everyone! Hope all is well with you guys!

Havent been here to update for the past few days so here we go...

Food for the 19th:
B-half whole wheat bagel, peanut butter
S-strawberries
L-work lunch at the Mandarin, only had 1 plate more than half veggies
S-12 almonds, 2 rice cakes
D-1/2 cold cut sub with light mayo

Food for 20th:
B-2 eggs, 2 pieces br toast, 2 bacon pieces
S-none
L-small piece of beef, beans, 1/2 potato
S-tiny sliver of banana cream pie
D-salad, pasta
*was away visiting the bf's grandma for the day so had to eat what was given to me or id feel rude but i did so within moderation so im ok with it

As for the knee, its getting better. I opened it up two days ago and saw green and thought "oh shit" but i cleaned it out and let it get some air and it went back to normal soon after and the scab is forming over nicely. Still cant bend it all the way or walk without a little limp but im not depending on ibuprofen anymore for pain relief so thats a good sign. I've been able to do some abs, biceps, triceps, shoulders, chest, and anything with straight legs so far this week so im happy about that. Will be doing some more of those exercises today:)

Food for today:
B-bagel with peanut butter 500
S-strawberries, 6 almonds 91
L-spinach salad, baby tomatoes, 3 slices chicken 212
S-apple, 6 almonds 122
D-chicken meatloaf, mashed potatos 450 approx
S-warm milk, bowl of oatmeal maybe 200

I decided im going to go back to posting the cals in my diary because it seems to be that people dont think im eating enough lol

Just stopping in to say HI!! and psh! Who cares what people think?? Well, when they're negative at least :p

I'm having my post workout dinner it's kind of gross because I like potatoes with lemon juice and pepper, well we had no lemon juice apparently. And I dont like to eat ketchup cuz it's sugar / empty cal's, so I'm having mustard... I think I would have rather had the extra cals.

and EW at your knee! Like splish said, at least you have a good story to go with it ;)

<3 banana cream pie! It's great you ate in moderation. No sense depriving yourself! Thats no fun at all :p

You're doing great! Keep up the good work, you already have 3lbs lost! before you know it you'll be at your goal :)

Thanks so much to everyone who visits here often and motivates me!! You guys are great!!! I havent been around much to post on others diary's, work has just been nuts and my computer at home for some reason is really slow when it comes to this site. I hopefully will get around to some diary's today or tomorrow to catch up and post whatever i can as well.

Anyways, this weekend was great! Went to see Inglourious Basterds on opening night which was crazy busy but it was such a good movie. I highly suggest it. Other than that just relaxed at home and did ALOT of cleaning to get myself moving. The knee is doing much better. Haha dont feel lazy.....I still cant run or do the elliptical or bike so all that makes up for my losses there. It takes a really long time to do it all but i love it actually and its making me feel a whole lot better about being bummed out with a bad knee.

Hey Kuch! Thanks for stopping by my diary :) I have to ask tho, where did u get your username from?...is it your name, short for something,etc...? To be honest it made me giggle a bit but thats just me and my silly mind. Perhaps you can make your own diary and everyone on here is more than happy to help you out with whatever questions you need answered, and for great motivation as well. Eating a balanced diet and exercising regularly is bound to get you some results...and remember its ok to mess up (just like i have many times and probably will many more) as long as you can get yourself right back on track again. So....that being said....go ahead and start your own diary and tell everyone on here a bit about yourself and go into more detail about your eating and exercising habits. Id be more than happy to help you out as much as i can and be your buddy :)

LOL! Agreed!!

As long as you're enjoying yourself that's what counts though, I'm not sure I'd have the patience for all that :p Hopefully your knee recovers soon so you can get back onto your cardio. But even with your knee out of action you're still doing something and that's great!

Thanks for your encouraging words on my journal!! I guess it's the "dont throw yourself down the stairs if you miss a step" analogy. None of us are perfect! But we sure as hell can do this :D

I certainly do enjoy myself even though that is for sure one hell of an upper body work out lol. I turn the tv on and just go to it and before i know it im done and sweating and sore all over but it feels great. I'm looking forward to doing it again today :)

Finally!!! I stepped on the scale this morning and finally it went back down again. No need to change the ticker yet tho cuz im back at 217 but boy am i glad to see it finally move back down again. Now i just have to keep it up and try my best not to gain it back again.

Also, my mom came back home from being away for two months and only seeing me for about 3 weekends in between and wow has she ever changed. I havn't heard one word from her about how "fat" i am or anything demeaning actually. She keeps asking me how i plan on doing the weight loss, what my workouts look like, telling me she sees a slight difference in my body and my attitude and its wonderful. She even bought me my own salad and fruit/veggies and put my name on it for me haha. I would hate for it to go back to how it was when i was almost in tears everyday because of her.

Food for 08/25
B-1 cup cheerios, 1 cup milk, 1/2 cup mixed berries 255
S-coffee with half hot chocolate 120
L-1/2 cup baby tomatos, 3 slices chicken, yogurt 170
S-12 almonds, apple 160
D-turkey club and salad 400 approx
S-coffee with half hot chocolate 120
Total=1225

Woot! for the scale moving in the right direction :hurray: I'm glad things with your mother are getting better... it sucks when ppl you care about either aren't supportive of your goals or are overly supportive (almost like backhanded complements). Not sure if that made sense but enjoy your success and keep your chin up :)

hiya!! :D

Thanks for your support :D It's sooo hard not to go shopping. Cuz we all deserve it for the hard work we're doing and you just want to splurge! I bought the shorts, they were only $12 so I figured why not. It was at eclipse, I dont know if you have it there. . We just recently got it :p I love it!

Congratz on the scale moving!! With all those workouts you've probably just been gaining muscle so hence no scale movement :D Do you measure yourself? If not you should! I got a measure tape at walmart for 99cents, was worth every penny! Keep it up!! You're doing great!

I'm glad your moms coming around and being supportive, like splish says its difficult when those around you aren't supportive!

Good luck with everything :D
