Hey all, I'm MegaDeuce and this is my weight loss journal. After many years of being heavier than I want to be, I think including some other people who are on the same path would be a good idea!
About me: 34 M living in North Carolina. Recently moved to a new city and gained about 20 lbs in a year and a half. My current weight is 245 as of this morning.

How much weight do you want to lose?
My goal weight is 197, so I ultimately want to lose 48 lbs. However, my intermediate goal is to lose half of that, 24 lbs.
What is the timeframe for reaching your target weight?
I know it's harder to shed weight as you progress, so I'm splitting my ultimate goal into a series like this: 48 lbs = 24 + 12 + 6 + 3 + 1.5 + ...
I'd like to reach my first goal of losing 24 lbs in four months. Today is Dec 9th and my birthday is April 10, so if I can make significant progress by then I'll be pretty happy about it.
How do you want to accomplish your goal (what methods do you want to use)?
Portion control and increasing my activity level. This is a long term project, so any changes I make need to be something that I can live with. I've tried extreme calorie cutting but it's not sustainable. To log portions and exercise I have a daily entry paper log book. I'm using a scale to track the portion sizes in grams, as well as any caloric drinks I take in. I'm also logging any exercise. I'm setting daily goals too.
Who or what can support you in reaching your goal?
My girlfriend and hopefully inspiration from this forum
How realistic is your goal?
I think my goal is completely realistic. Ultimately it's a question of determination and self-discipline.
When will you start?
