Hi all it's been a minute. I started my first diary back in 2015, and I was very successful. I lost 140 lbs. and was able to keep it off for about 2.5 years. Then slowly my weight started coming back. Then I had some health issues, then COVID came and I some bad habits came back along the way and sadly have stayed. Also, my main source of exercise was walking my dog, a sweet stubborn old hound named Misty. She got older and wanted to walk less and passed May 2021. Since my last posting, I passed my A+ exam and got my certification. I've also moved into a new condo. I also took in Toby so I now have a cat.

Recently, I've been going to a nutritionist (Hi Grace!) and they have been really helpful, but I haven't been able to shake these bad habits and I've either stayed at the same weight or gained weight. She recommended the My Fitness Tracker app but TBH I really don't like it, I prefer posting here.

Right now I'm 296, so what went wrong? I think mainly, my bad eating habits started back again. I initially did well all week. Then I would have pizza and candy every other Sunday. Then every Sunday, Then partially on Saturday and all Sunday, to Sometimes during the week, Some candy on Thursday and junk on Saturday and Sunday. Also I'm walking less. When I started this journey I was walking 4 hours a day, then that gradually went down to three, then 2, then 1 then 1 every other day. Also I'm older which makes weight loss a bit harder.

When I signed up for the app it had my goal of 2270 calories a day. I'm not sure if that's too low or not. I'm going to start a new diary and something a little different. I'm going to include photos of what I ate.

Welcome back Matt. Sorry to hear about Misty. There's no shame in starting over and having kept that much weight off for 2.5 years proves that you have the skills you need and you just need to get your head back into the game.
 
Hey, Matt. It's good to have you back. Is Toby one of the cats from your last place? It sounds like life has improved a bit in many ways (new condo, A1 certification, Toby) & it will be good to get your eating back on track too. I'm sure you can do it!

Thanks. I still miss her. I'm hoping my skills aren't too rusty :)

Yeah Toby was the cat at my last apartment. He's the cat in my profile picture.

Breakfast: 4 Croissants w/Jelly ( 190 cal. per Croissant, 50 Cal. Jelly), 1 Good and Gather Oatmeal Bar (150 Cal.).
4 cups of Coffee w/ 6 Creamers and Equal (10 Cal. per Creamer)

Lunch: 1 Chicken Breast (250 cal.), 2 sides of Peas (70 cal.), 1 Package of Steam fresh Roast Potatoes (210 cal. per package)

Dinner: 1 Marie Callender's TV Dinner (Lasagna 430 cal.) 4 Pieces of Garlic Toast (100 cal. per piece of toast)

Drinks: 4 cups of Diet Snapple, 4 cups of Water

Exercise: 30 Minutes of Walking.

Estimated total calories: 2460 (190 calories over 2270)

Lunch: 1 Chicken Salad Sandwich (500 cal.), 1 side of Chicken Salad (100 cal.)1 Bag of Steamed Lima Beans (400 cal.), 1 Apple

Dinner: 1 Boston market TV Dinner (Hot Honey Fried Chicken 540 cal.) 2 Glasses of Milk (300 cal.)

Drinks: 1 cup of Diet Snapple, 2 cups of Water

Exercise: 25 Minutes of Walking.

Estimated total calories: 2720 (450 calories over 2270)
 
It may be a little over your goal but you got some exercise in and I see fruit, veg, and protein. Not a bad start!

Snack: 2 Good and Gather Oatmeal bars (300 cal.)

Lunch: 2 Chicken Bacon Sandwiches (400 cal. each.), 1 bag of Grandmas Cookies (580 cal.).

Estimated total calories: 3240 (970 calories over 2270)

I couldn't resist the urge to have those cookies lol. I'm trying something different with the sandwiches but it didn't work out too much bc I undercooked the chicken a little. I hope I calculated the calories correctly. I noticed the calories I've eaten have gone up this week. I'm going to have less tomorrow.

I'm a little disappointed my weight hasn't gone down, though at the same time I've been going above the calorie limit.

I've been trying to get more into the habit of taking photos of what I eat though I forget. For lunch I remembered halfway after I ate my mashed potatoes.

I had my appt with the nutritionist which went pretty good, I got some recipes and ideas what direction to go in.
If I make any spelling errors blame Toby he jumped up on my desk as I was writing this and almost jumped on the keyboard. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
