Maryann's trail....Rotation Diet "version"....

Congrats on another pound gone!

Great to see you're still enjoying the Zumba! Get the feeling if I tried it I'd end up running into a wall or TV and breaking stuff! :D

Nice to see your husband is making changes and instinctively purchasing healthy alternatives!

Steve

View attachment 19998Hey all - Saturday... mmmm....sleeping in !

Thanks for the support Sarah, Mystic & Steve ... so good to have friends on the healthy trail.. :)

Sarah & Steve - I'm not great at the Zumba steps either...but in my family room- no one sees me...just my dog- she takes refuge under the coffee-table...lol... it reminds me of aerobics classes I did so many years ago- & the moves work your core somewhat - I actually felt my stomach muscles... wow...View attachment 19999

Plan today:
exercise: 30mins.tread mill + 30mins.zumba dvd
food: budget today:1,200cals... plan-not yet written out - but will include big-salads( approx. 4-6cups lettuce manages to really keep me full x about 3-4hours)... to keep hungry away .View attachment 20000

am on-call with work again this weekend- so no exciting errands or outings.- just home - but that's good - gives me time for the exercise, and home-eats always far easier to stay in calorie goals & healthy choices than eating out.

Interesting when I was grocery shopping yesterday... had wanted a "treat"...but found I was "naturally" steering "away" from anything processed... and was actually mindful of a finding a treat that would fit in my calories... decided on some herb-flavoured natural soft-cheese ( Boursin- bit like goat-cheese, it's a canadian brand)... to have with my whole-wheat-triscuit crackers, and some apple slices.. and actually weighed my serving & counted the cals in my daily total...
...I had remembered Cate & Sarah saying this is a lifestyle- not just a diet...so was happy to find a way to have a "treat" ...but keep it in the "healthy lifestyle" ... win-win... have my "cheese-cake" & eat it too .... such a learning journey- replacing the old bad habits- with good new ones...View attachment 20001

well, time to ease into my Saturday- planning to listen to a couple healthy podcasts - ( Fat2Fit radio, and maybe check out dishing up nutrition ( thanks Sarah for these)... then on with the day...

When I was reading earlier this week about plateaus, one common- pit-fall they mentioned was "weekend non-warriors"...folks who are good all week, but fall back into old habits on weekends ( me guilty here ! )...so am making effort to keep calorie budget & exercise routine going right thru the weekend now too ...

wishing everyone a nice Saturday, with healthy food , fun exercise, and some good R&R time too !View attachment 20002

cheers, Maryann

Great job on choosing the "healthier lifestyle" option as a treat!! That is prove how far you have come already on your journey!

You are doing so well Maryann, healthy choices and Zumba and a pound down. Well done! I'm going to try and keep up with you this week.

mmm Sunday -View attachment 20008

Thx for the visits and support Mands & Anna - ...
,, the grocery store "healthy treat" hunting did suprise me- it is nice that healthy-habits are creeping in- even into treat choices... lol

Anna - U R on gal- daily exercise all week? & see if we can each knock-off 1 lb?

My plan today:
food budget: 1,600 cals- had my toast/almond butter brekkie, thinking tuna & salad for lunch, supper- will see what's interesting in the freezer

Exercise- 30mins. treadmill, Zumba DVD, and dog-walk. *( it's still all snowy here - but sunny -and forecast +2 C -we went yesterday & Koko loved it..so we'll go again today.)

hope everyone has a nice Sunday with healthy choices.
cheers,Maryann

Lets do that. Today my exercise will be gardening all morning and then splitting firewood (with a machine) this afternoon. So lifting the rounds of tree trunk over to the splitter and then carrying and stacking them on the pile. It's a lot of good physical work.

Hello, doing pretty good Maryann :)
So you are one of the zumba girls here now too! Good for you!

So what healthy treat did you pick up in the store?

hEY Anna - your gardening/wood splitting sounds great ! ... I have dog-walk done ( nice fresh outside air- ya ! ) & treadmill done... will do zumba dvd later this aftn.

Justina- ..I've had the zumba DVDs for about a year now- but tried the "#1-learn the steps one"..-found it a bit tuff- a gal at work this week told me just to jump in -don't worry 'bout getting the steps exact...& I did give it a try & I like it!

My treat was some soft cheese ( bit like goat-cheese)-it's a canadian-brand -from Quebec) - Boursin- all natural - just milk/cream/shallots/chives/onions/culture ...bit of pot.sorbate - 30gm is 130cals- the flavour is great & I have it on my triscuits crackers... much better than my old treats- used to go for pastries and also nachos' were a favorite ( but just too many chemicals...)-don't fit the "fresh" "real food" trend I am on these days..

Hey Maryann - Well done for trying it - doing a mix of exercise is great - I am all for it!

Your treat sounds yummy! You are doing great, you really are! :)

LOL, wine and zumba :) definitely not a good combination. I can just visualise it and having a good laugh.

You've got the whole week to catch up for yesterday. Go go go!!

Hey Maryann,
I give you a big A+ for effort on the treadmill...and an even bigger A++ for exercising before the seminar! I don't know if you are staying in a hotel, but if so, you might check out the steps instead of the elevator...they can be killers 1st time you do them, but they are really good for lets and butt fat...I've really firmed up my butt muscles doing the steps here in the hotel! Just a thought!

Thanks for all your encoragement!
Sarah
