DId ok on the chinese lunch yesterday - starting with the won-ton soup - helped fill me up & resist the fried stuff, stuck to beef/broccoli dish and a chicken-veg dish.

Plan today: my usual 2 x 1/2hr treadmill sessions, and usual healthy-portions/healthy choices food - am not yet logging food post-Xmas ...will likely start that up on Wed. post-NewYrs -when back to regular work routine. -

This is the first year ( in my humble 51 years) that I ever weighed myself daily thru Xmas.... it definately was a good "keep me on healthy trail" thing to do - and helped ease the dreaded "post- XMas" weigh-in fear... ,...I also think it's my first Xmas ever that I actually lost a pound thru xmas...

Habit- I am starting to find that "healthy" has become a "habit" for me .... starting to feel like healthy choices are now my "New normal"....and the lazy/junk-food choices are now shifting to "exception" for me...feels kindof good... even find my body / mind feel so much better eating/living healthy....really didn't like how I felt those couple days with the richer Xmas food...

Still working on some-leftovers here - but keeping portions limited, and focusing on lots of veggies ( I made a big bowl of steamed veggies Xmas day...and am still working on using those up...)

& still have lots of XMas Mandarin oranges - we are on our 3rd box here at our house this Xmas... it was my "go to" snak-food this season... I think it helped.

Happy Saturday - sleep-in Day !

Have some housework today ( more company coming tonite)....
( isn't it funny how having company inspires you to get your house cleaner... lol )...... A lady I used to work with said one day- she was sweeping her kitchen floor - & one of her kids asked "who's coming over? " ....

Exercise: the vacumning & also plan for at least 1 x 1/2hr treadmill today.

Food: will do my usual for food- focus on veggies, keep portions reasonable, and limit the starches....( I am making the supper - so I have purposely included veggies & salad ).

Hope everyone having a nice between Xmas/NewYears' Saturday - starting to get all geared up for a great "healthy" year in 2013.

It's great to see that healthy foods are becoming habit, shows that you are really making a lifestyle change rather than just being on a diet! Good job!
Haha, my house is never clean unless I have company, and it's the reason why I never have company!

Hi folks - phew- .... busy weekend - guests finally all headed home....house back to normal...kind-of.... still some tidying-up to do...but most is done....

I was pretty good on food- only had a couple squares, and did have a turkey sandwhich for lunch today ( bit of extra-bread - but was whole-grain -so not too bad....)

Did take dog for walk today - but that was it for exercise....

Busy days tomorrow & Tues. - work , out NewYrs Eve( supper at sis-in-laws- Steak/Salad/Bak.pot- so should be ok on food)- then NewYrs day to cousins- bigger meal - turkey, perogies, cabbage rolls etc etc - will have to be sure to have my Health-Eats-Hat on for that one...

THen Wednesday mornin' - back to Serious Healthy - treadmill, logging food....get it Done !!

My new Step-exerciser arrived at the catalogue-office today- I will pick it up tomorrow - will be a nice way to kick-start 2013.

omgsh, i love how you include those pics with your posts!! too cool!!! So jealous about the new exercise toy!! Have fun with it!! Your starting weight is 10 lbs lighter than mine....can't wait to see the 230's again....did I say that? ah well, chin up! lol

many thanks for your on-going support - U are my Rock-of-Inspiration !!

I didn't make it to the Depot before it closed today after work - so I won't be able to pick-up the StepExerciser until Wed. now -but I can hardly wait to try it out - .... will let U know how I like it - I am hopeful it will be a good/ & convenient indoor exercise that I can do at work on my lunch break - for winter months/&rainy weather days - I've been driving home at lunch - but that is quite rushed-as I endup spending time just getting to the house & then back to work...

Food today- budget is 1,600 cals - had healthy brekkie- whole-grain toast/1 oz. cheddar cheese.- ..& plan for Tuna salad lunch, turkey+veg+fruit at supper - should be ok.

Hey MaryAnne, don't sweat the 1 pound...normal fluctuation is part of it...sucks but true. It's probably water retention and like Anna.banana said, it will be gone before you know it. Just keep on doing what you're doing and be consistent and it will come off...one pound, one ounce one day/minute at a time!
If I can do it, so can you...and I'm doing it with your help!

Have fun with your step exerciser and keep going. You're doing great.

If it helps while you're stepping, pretend that a pack of wolves are chasing you up a flight of stairs and at the top is your guard moose who will chase them away. That's the sort of thing I usually do, but then I usually workout right after I take my morning medication so that might have something to do with it.
 
Or...instead of wolves chasing you, you could listen to audiobooks, that's what I'm doing at the moment, it makes the time march on for me!

Mr Vee's suggestion is a little more exciting though.

.... time to go assemble that step-exerciser....I think I can hear that wolf-pak coming now...they will definately put some pep-in-my-step.... & U think it's FUnnee to talk about Moose !! we have them out here in the Great White NOrth ( my in-laws saw 3 on the edge of town just last week)....
