? you are starting into Spring-time down there ?....( we are into our fall time here- still pretty sunny - but starting to get chilly in evenings & mornings... yuck ! )

Ahappy Canadian Thanksgiving Maryannc! Soundalike you have a good plan for it, and good choice on the exercise! Fresh air does us all good, and I'm sure little Koko is just loving all this extra attention!
We all do need to be thankful for what we have been given in life...and I'm thankful for you as a new cyber friend and also for God's grace to help me lose the weight...and I'm thankful that He has given you the inspiration to make it a lifestyle change...it is so worth the little daily battles we have along the way!
So enjoy your healthy, happy Thanksgiving and keep making those great choices...they are and will continue to pay off!
Sarah

AYep it's spring down here, although you wouldn't know it for the weather this week, lots of rain and wind.

How was the weekend? I didn't know there was a Canadian thanksgiving, it's cool to have a special time to reflect on the good things in life though.

Hey Sarah - thx for the lovely Thanksgiving greetings - I am very thankful to you too as my cyber-friend & weight-loss pal - :Angel_anim:

- I am also thankful to have reached my decision to do "healthy" lifestyle for good ...it's just such a burden lifted for me ( I really did not realized how much guilt I had been carrying over the poor food/lack of exercise life that I was living)... already feel "lighter" each day - with making these Good Choices ....

cheers Sarah , as always- thankyou for your inspiring example of how this can be done ! & your kindness , your wisdom & support ,

Hey Naif ! Thx for the congrats - yes--- I am chugging along - I believe you had said something about "trusting in the process"....and that is what I am doing - just taking it day by day , if scale shows loss(that's good) , but even if not - I am trusting how my body feels , my stamina improving , my clothes fitting better...

...and yes - am looking forward to back to routine - with lots of exercise this week ( to balance the Food-party yesterday).

cheers, Maryann

Hey Anna - rain & wind in NewZ - ... I visited both north/south island quite a few years ago ( goodness - that was shortly after univeristy - mid 1980's ) - but loved it - I can just picture a windy cool wet day - all the sheep on the hillsides cuddling together to keep warm....

~ My holiday weekend was good ( still a holiday today too - not back to work 'til tomorrow )-thank goodness -I am pooped

- I am still doing after-party clean-up here....am hoping all the exercise with preparing on Saturday, hosting yesterday( we had 20 family here for dinner) & now clean-up today - will have burned off a pound ? - or at least balanced off the pumpkin pie ! ( yup -- I had 2 slices - but small ones, & didn't eat the crust - I enjoyed the treat , but kept it reasonable - and was sure to send-off lots of left-overs with the company - so not tempted this week with the goodies haning around in the fridge !)

My reflection this Thanksgiving is thanks for the wonderful family & friends who share my life , and thanks for finally getting on my weight loss trail - for good - I am making this healthy living my daily life now & for-good ...and am so glad .

cheers

Hey Free - I keep track of Rot.Diet real simple- just a little note-book in a kitchen drawer
th_notepad.jpg

- Pen & notebook, my old-copy of Katahn's book ( I've index tabbed the calorie section - for quick calorie counting) & have a little calculator in that drawer too ( then I don't need to do math in my head - ick.)

- I have a kitchen scale nearby on the counter ( I weigh stuff for more accurate measuring of servings - escpecially proteins - chicken etc. - I'm not too good on eye-balling serving sizes on those yet).

~ & I've been Following a Version of Your Rotation - I have alternated 1,200/1,500 weeks with 1,500/1,800 ...

cheers ,

Maryann

Hi all ,

...phew - the "Food-Pary" ...all done-
8_5_17.gif

~ clean up - mostly done ( just a bit of dishes left to do )....

....did not too bad on the food - took approx. 1/2 size servings of what I normally have at Thanksgiving dinner ( I think it helps when you R hostess - no time to chow-down yourself - as you are busy making sure all the company is happy & looked after).

~ have done 3weeks of rotation now , should probably take this week off , but I figure the thanksgiving food yesterday & bit of leftovers today ( ham, etc.)-likely equals a "week off"...so am planning to go the 1,500/1,800 cal rotation tomorrow-once back at work & into usual routine.

~ will brave the scale tomorrow moring ( figured I deserved the day-off today from weighing - and am pretty sure that salty ham might have a bit of water-weight on-baord for me.)

...off shortly for a walk with my pooch Koko - back to the usual routine.

...( also planning to cut-grass this aftn - one last time before the snow comes , & forecast for rain next few days- so need to do it today)...

cheers ,

wishing everyone good, healthy choices,

Maryann .

Hey all , well - the partys' over - back to work...yuck....( lot's of "turmoil" right now at my work - we are going to a new software operating system on Monday - have some new Hardware already - new PCs , New Printers...some of our current -existing stuff not working, I was missing lots of programs this AM - ended up working on a co-worker's pc...fun fun....will be glad once the implement is rolling next week.)

~ despite the "fun" at work - did squeeze in my noon walk , came-home pretty hungry -

...but went to my Rotation notebook - wrote-out a healthy high-fibre snack ( banana & grapenuts)...and wrote-out my supper menu/portions.... feeling much better now -

~ scale this morning not bad - 1/2pound up ( likely the salty ham)...will see how next few days go...

calorie total for today will be 1,435 ( it's a 1,500 day today- so am good.)

exercise - did noon walk already & plan for dog-walk this evening ....

~ am feeling pretty pooped ( I think all that work this wknd caught up with me finally) - time for a bit of R&R - then make supper/walk Koko.

Way 2 Go! Only 1/2 lb gain is great for a break week!

ya....could have been worse...( although was actually just a long-wknd...)...lol....but- all considered - I'm glad I did get-away with just 1/2lb.

( this Xmas season should be interesting....will see if my "New" choice-style has an impact ( some years I've gained like 10lbs.thru Xmas season...eeek.)

Hi folks,

really long day at work today ( was there 11 hours...sheesh) - preparing for our new software startup on Monday , and having issues with new computers/printers they've already installed.... will be so glad once this is done & rolling....
11_9_10.gif
- and can focus back on patient care & not all this "tech" stuff.....

~ slipped a bit on food today( the stress did weaken me a bit - slipped to my old-habit of veering toward the cafeteria - just had 1 "smallish" muffin- so could have been worse...( didn't do the vending machine- that would have really made me feel bad)...

...but did manage a healthy supper , and calorie total for day still below budget ( 1,800 goal today - ended up with 1,670)....

... did not have time for my noon walk ( & actually had bit of wet-light snow flurries thru day)(so outside wasn't too appealing today anyway) - so will do treadmill now for a bit - then sack-out - am beat.

cheers all,

wishing everyone good healthy choices,

Maryann

OMG ! - my scale broke this morning !!! #### ***&&& !!!

~ I'm pretty sure I didn't drop to 90lbs. overnite ! ...guess I just have worn it out ( with all my daily weighings..) ( it was pretty old - maybe 10yrs? )

- yoy !! ( but it did feel like a "lighter" morning...now I gotta wait in suspense 'til I can buy a new scale...)( good thing me&Hubby are headed out tonite - will have to fit-in a pit-stop somewhere to buy a new bathroom scale....)

th_1-standing-on-bathroom-scale-275.jpg

..definately a sign I'm well on my way on this weight-losing trail ( I've never stuck with it long-enuf before to break a scale...sheesh...)

~ plan today - calories - 1,500 target, exercise - noon walk & Treadmill tonite.

...wish me luck - I'm flying "blind" with NO Morning Weight....eeeek !!
