Marsia's Diary

Hey Marsia, great to see you back, hopefully you are here to stay for a while. Let us know how things have been with you.

Now I just want to take things a day at a time and find a way each day to de-stress my body and emotions.
This is much more important than keeping up with diaries. None of us would want to add to your stress.
I know I love having you around though. Maybe just do a little update in your diary to help you with getting back on track? :grouphug:

Good to hear you have been eating healthily Marsia . I like seeing you back too .
I know it’s hard to keep up with the diaries ( I do struggle ) especially with kids demands too . Hope your wee girl is good .

You sound much more relaxed hon. I am so glad you are back. I'm starting Tai Chi classes next week with my old teacher. They will be at a surf life-saving club, so right on the beach. Just the thought of it makes me feel good. We have to do things that make us feel good. Yoga, tai chi, walks, eating healthily..... :grouphug:

Glad K is doing well Marsia . The sleep deprivation is going on here now too . She is in the last stretch of school now so light at end of tunnel for her and I .
Sounds like you are doing super well and yay for a nice clean house . How is your mum Marsia . Not sure if you mentioned her . Sorry if you have .

Hi Cate, LaMa, and Petal! I love the idea of an emotional detox. It is nice to let all that old stress go. I just did a 30 minute yoga routine for stress management (Yoga with Adriene on Youtube) with lots of breathing and it was a good slow workout, too. I don't know why it has taken getting so stressed to actually take time for myself, but I really am liking this! It's like trying to get a kid to take a bath, and then once they are in, you can't get them out!! Oh, and for once, my meditation went so well I went 10 minutes over without trying.
I'm really looking forward to getting back into Tai Chi. It's great for de-stressing. If we practise what we know helps before we get stressed, we may not let it get that stage. Worth a try :grouphug:
Cate, Tai Chi sounds so wonderful for you and your love of dance, especially since it will be on the beach. Wow, I hope you really love it!
I think I will. I love the woman who holds the classes. She moved to the mainland & has moved back.
Petal, my daughter is doing well, just very sleep deprived from school. She has been doing voice lessons with our old Cuban drumming teacher who drummed and was lead singer at the same time in a professional band in Qatar. So she knows all too well what it is like to sing and play an instrument possibly with different rhythms going on at the same time. So my daughter's voice is really getting strong and beautiful, and may even catch up with her guitar playing. How is your daughter doing?
Do you sing, Marsia?
I just purged a bunch of stuff from the house switching rooms with J, and I am currently looking at the nice clean house, feeling happy. Exercise is amazing. How did it take me so long to just go ahead and do a kind that I love?
Exercise that we enjoy is such a bonus in so many ways. I love hearing you so happy :grouphug:

Glad to hear things aren´t too hard with your mom right now.
Did you end up switching rooms with J and did it give you some more peace and quiet?

Glad your relationship is ok with your mom . I know it must be hard as she loses some abilities . Sounds like you are doing a great job .
I cleared my closet over xmas . It’s a great feeling .

It will be lovely to have a room that feels all fresh & new to you. I hope it works out well for you, Marsia. Well done on all the de-cluttering. It's also really good that you have found a way to cope better with your Mum. I hope you get to do some art soon when you have everything reorganised xo

That book sounds really interesting, as a POV on resistance; I'll see if I can look it out
You're doing so well with yoga! Great predestressing. :D (the grin is for it being such a silly word!) As is singing, which I also love - I sing at home, but not otherwise right now - I should organise more of it. Or not organise, but just do. :)

Recipe for the onion rings, please! So glad to hear your room swap is lowering your stress levels and you got such a nice walk in with your mom. Hope the rest of the stress dissipates soon, too.

I love you being back here, Marsia & I am so glad that things are working out better for you- both with moving rooms, but also that your mood is getting happy & energised again. That is lovely to hear. I'm going to do some Tai Chi every day. It's very peaceful.

That's excellent about the stress dropping away out of your backpack - I'm picturing it as a grey dust, leaking out and blowing away. :) I loved the account of your walk in the woods with your mother, and how she was able to go further and enjoy more than she once thought she could - yes,
Some memory loss is better than others!
Oddly enough, I did end up singing for a while yesterday. :) Singing, art and all forms of creativity - we need them, maybe not as directly or immediately as good food, but somewhere in there, in the mix, to make a healthy life.
