aw thanks luv, thats a wonderful compliment to receive, good to know i could inspire a few ppl at least. gives me MY motivation to get to the gym for 2 hours tonight after a weekend of debauchery haha!!

Wow, so I just cannot believe how amazing your weight loss is and how inspirational it is to me.
I've been thinking of buying a treadmill sometime this week since I really don't like running outside in front of everybody.lol
You said you worked on your treadmill a lot right? Do you think it's worth it to buy one?

if it weren't for buying myself a treadmill, i don't think i would have gotten anywhere!! i was lucky, found a place that i could get a treadmill on a finance sort of thing, but no interest. it was basically $10 a week repayments, and before i knew it i owned it outright!! so i started weeknights, an hour a night; got fit that way. and that motivated me to get to the gym instead!

it was the most worthwhile thing i've ever spent $600 on!! now i haven't touched it in wks, but only because i'm fit enough to run for an hour outside or use the gym equipment.

Thats great. I'm going to try and buy one sometime this week or the next. I just have one more question about the treadmill you bought. Was it just a regular standard one or one the treadmills with all the fancy little gadgets?
There is one at walmart I'm looking at that's about $400, but it's just standard. Boring treadmill, no other buttons and whatnot other than the speed really. I'm hoping I'm not going to be buying a dud.

sorry i took so long!! completely forgot to log back on on monday, i paid about $600 australian for mine, definitely the cheapest one! its nothing compared to the ones at the gym, but it was all i needed to begin with, especially as i wasn't fit enough to run for long periods as it was!

i never needed to change the incline (did not come with that option), and yes, definitely the basic of basics.

the calorie tracker was wayyyyyyyyyyy out, it was telling me i was burning 600 calories an hour walking at about 7km approx.

um yeh...i have to run my little ass off at the gym for an hour straight, doing at least 10km to come to that!!

Wow!! What a transformation! Absolutely fantastic! Well done... you are looking amazing... all your hard work has paid off! Way to go girl!!!!

Oh thank you so much for taking the time and answering my questions! You have no idea how much you have inspired me. I'm looking for treadmills right now.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.:)

You are such an inspiration!! You really look beautiful! I hope I can look so good in my pictures when I lose this weight! How tall are you btw?

:hurray:
well to begin with - always sounds silly when i say it - i bought a treadmill and became 'intimate' with it. hahaha. sorry. but seriously - it became a big part of my life.
i have it in my room next to my bed - so no excuses ever.
i wasn't really confident enough to go walking outside.
so i started on the treadmill - obviously eating healthy. i was never really that good with portion control. i'm still not though, thats always going to be my downfall :( but i figure if its just a plate full of vegies that can't be AS bad.

so the treadmill - started 4 hours a week, approx 6 kms a day.
from mar 08 - june 09, i wasn't seeing really wonderful results so it was a fairly laid back exercise regime. ie - nowhere near enough to burn off wat i was eating.

to be honest, i lost 10 kgs in sep 08 thru stress. my appetite disappeared, i kept exercising as normal, ate as much protein as i could when i could actually stomach a meal.

i regained my appetite after that month and stuck with the 4-5 hours on the treadmill. basically i maintained. nothing special.

then in june of this year my appetite disappeared again - but only for a short period. that loss of a few more kilos - probably about 8kgs, was the boost i needed.

i started to up the treadmill usage to 2 hours a day when i could manage (weekdays that is), so approx 7 hours a week. i upped the speed, so maybe 7 kms per hour that i was on there.

gradually, over the last few months, i've ditched the treadmill. i invested in some workout dvds - mainly biggest loser ones. now i've got them all. depending on my recovery time from the weekend, i'll do 2 hours minimum a day 5 days a week. if i can manage on a saturday morning i will too. from cardio to weight training at home.

as of last night - i ran/jogged for an hour non stop. then again this morning.

it has taken me since june, but i am officially fit. this is what i'm doing this all for now. for my health, fitness and strength. and i look forward to my run every single minute of the day.

eating wise - i'm very regulated. breakfast currently is scrambled eggs, no milk, with tomato and onion.

throughout the day i monitor everything fairly closely - basically 4 apples, a banana, approx 300g weight watchers yoghurt, a milo, a coffee, a coke zero.

then dinner is a lean cuisine with frozen vegies added.

thats weekdays - on weekends it always varies but i never have anything other than subway.

all up i would on average consume approx 1400-1500 calories on a working day.

i've still got about 5kgs/11bs to lose. i'm 167cm high, which is approx just under 5 foot 6??

i drink a lottttttttttt of water, too much i think, trying to cut back as i think its flushing out everything. was averaging about 9-10litres a day so cutting back to about 6 or 5 if i can at the moment.

so basically, for me it was getting fairly obsessive about exercise, but i'm the sort of person that thrashes things - but now that i'm doing it with exercise and fitness i cannot complain!!!

Wow! Truly amazing! Thanks for the inspiration and you look gorgeous!
