LuzDaFuzz's Diary

Thanks Sunflower :)

I'm doing great so far today, I've been to the gym and walked for an hour... I work 10-5 today and I'm thinking I might walk the 30mins to work too!

I'll come back tonight and post my food intake for the day.

So I did end up walking to work, so ended up walking 1h 30mins and going to the gym... plus I worked 10-5 so I was on my feet all day, so I'm pretty proud! Food was good too:

5 weetbix with skim milk
2 frozen bananas with scoop of cinnamon roll protein powder (YUM)
Lite orange and mango jelly with low fat vanilla Greek yogurt
Sandwich on rye with tinned chicken in tandoori
Vita weats with low fat cottage cheese
3 spinach and feta filo tarts

Chilling out now, I'm sooo happy I have 3 days off work!!! Hope everyone had a healthy weekend- I'm sooo hoping I haven't had a gain this week... just aiming to break even after those 2 bad days at the beginning of the week. I've had 3 perfect days since then, 2 to go!

Ok... so been pretty bad the passed couple days. Naughty me!! I really only set out to lose half a kg a week, so seeing as tomorrow is only the end of week 2 if I'm 71.7kg or below tomorow on my weigh in I'll be happy.

I'm being positive, sticking with it!!! Tomorrow is a new day to keep trucking!

71.6kg on the scales this morn- It's a gain but over the fortnight I still weigh less overall. I'm staying positive- hopefully going to smash it a bit this week :D 71kg or below would make me happy!

K so yesterday was bad... many toasted/buttered hot cross buns were involved... I'm over it, going hard for the rest of the week! 71kg here I come!!

Todays food:

5 weet-bix with skim milk
Mango and passionfruit lite jelly with 200g low fat vanilla Greek yogurt
2 pieces Burgen rye bread with tinned chicken in red curry
4 vita weats with 100g low fat cottage cheese
Lean Cuisine meal (satay beef)

1662 cals total

Exercise isn't going to be much infortunately, it's going to be 35C+ today outside and was already over 30C when I left work at 8am. I've walked for 30mins but not expecting to get back outside again!

ETA- I ended up going for another 20min walk to the post office and back. BLAH IT'S SOOOO FREAKIN HOT! Where has autumn gone????

Had a really crappy sleep last night, it was my dad's birthday so rang him and talked for ages, then after hanging up my sister rang. It was already 9pm and tried hard to get off the phone asap but we haven't spoken since Christmas so kept thinking of things to say. Ended up getting off the phone at 9:45pm (boo) and was getting up at 4am for work (5-8 today) So was expecting a shitty 6 hours worth. HA I wish, it was SOOO hot in the bedroom, took me forever to get to sleep (I checked my phone at one point and it said 11:30pm so I was up till at least then) Kept waking up covered in my doona too and it was so hot I kept throwing it off. Blah I think I would've had 3-4hrs sleep max last night. Safe to say I have no plans at all for the rest of the day!

Going down south to visit my family on Sat night, having drinks with my sister that night then having a big family dinner Sunday for my dad's birthday and my little sister who is moving to the eastern states so I think that's the only day I will potentially mess up.

Anyhoo... I'm going to try and do some cleaning and get in a nap.

I'll be honest... today wasn't the greatest. I stuck to my calories and exercised though so wasn't the worst either! Food was:

5 weet-bix with skim milk
5 ginormous cookies (baking at work, gaaaah that place will be the death of me!)
vita weats with low fat cottage cheese

for a grand total of around 1700 calories. Exercise was a 1hr walk- I thought I should suck it up and brave the 36C heat as punishment for eating the cookies!!

So today I had work 5am-8am. My husband had the day off so we went and did a couple of things we needed to- got alcohol for the weekend etc (My mum is cooking a massive feast for Sunday so I said I'd bring several bottles of wine... I'm drinking my diet sparkling like a good little weight-loss fiend!)

The weekend will be pretty full on, so I don't see myself writing again until Mon. Here's what I INTEND for the weekend:

Sat- I'm working 5am-3pm. Food I've planned:
5 weet-bix with skim milk
Mango and passionfruit lite jelly with 200g low fat vanilla Greek yogurt
2 slices of Burgen rye bread with tinned tandoori chicken
4 Vita weats with 100g low fat cottage cheese
Peanut butter protein bar
Lean cuisine meal- Atlantic salmon with pasta
Whole bottle of diet sparkling wine (having drinks with my sister that night)

Total cals- 2020

Exercise will be the 30min walk home from work, then another 1hr walk when I get home.

Going down south that night, drinks with my sister, then Sunday I plan on catching up with friends and have that big family feast. Food plan:

5 weet-bix with skim milk
Lite jelly with 200g low fat vanilla Greek yogurt
2 slices of Burgen rye bread with tinned chicken in red curry
4 vita weats with 100g low fat cottage cheese
Whole bottle of diet sparkling wine

Which according to fitday will leave me with approx 1400cals to maintenance (I also have a 1hr walk I plan to do first thing Sun morning) to use on dinner. I still want a fairly large deficit so the plan is to fill up on veg, have a little meat and gravy, and save a chunk of cals for my mum's super awesome cheesecake (which is actually a healthy one anyway... made with low fat cottage cheese)

So that's my plan... will let you know how I go! Have a healthy weekend everyone!

Happy Monday morning to everyone!

My weekend wasn't TOO bad- on Saturday I had a 1000cal deficit as planned (unfortunately a lot of the food I was PLANNING on eating I didn't because I had a nom-nom piggy fest on cookies at work again. ARRRRGH) I really didn't feel to bad about it though. Did my exercise, didn't eat over cals.
Went to a friends place and got home after midnight- urgh woke up at 6am Sun morn. I was pretty tired all day! ANyhoo..

Sunday I got up and had breakfast and went for a 1hr walk- I love doing this when I'm home, it's the route I used to take and because I only do it every 4-6months now I can see how the place is slowly changing. I was fine and healthy up till lunchtime when my hubby bought a bag of donuts, and I couldn't help myself. I had 1 but they were pretty massive. Ended up eating a big slab of meatloaf too, and then I was helping my mum with the vanilla slice for dessert and I was eating all the end bits she was cutting off. I didn't go overboard on dinner, but I estimated overall on Sun I prob would've eaten 1000cals over maintenance... so I think I broke even on the weekend. Which I'm fine with, it could've been so much worse. I'm just going to smash it the next 2 days before weigh-day :D

The plan today:

5 weet-bix with skim milk
Lite jelly with 200gms low fat vanilla Greek yogurt
3 spinach and feta filo tarts (making these soon, been missing them!)
2 frozen bananas pureed with 1 scoop protein powder
4 vita weats with 100gms low fat cottage cheese
Lean Cuisine meal- Atlantic Salmon with Pasta

Total cals- 1754

Exercise- I was going to go to the gym for a workout, but right after I finished writing this a friend rang and wanted to meet in the city for coffee... so I did the return trip on my bike- around 40mins- up n down all the hills. Good times. I'm also planning on walking for an hour later this afternoon.

Have I mentioned that because of the floods/ cyclones in the country recently bananas have become really insanely expensive!?? They are officially $14.98 per/kg as of today! I bought 2 bunches when they were $9.98 and it came to $30.... of BANANAS!!!! I love my nanas sooo much though.... I managed to get several cheap bags last week from a newly opened supermarket that had heaps of stuff half price... but don't know what I'm going to do after that!

Hi! Just wanted to pop in quickly and say hello... Can't believe you work in a bakery, that would be the death of me! Do you have to pay for things you eat? I worked in an ice cream shop in high school and if I had gotten free ice cream I think I'd weigh 400 pounds right now. Hope it cools down for you! Spring has officially begun here in the States but it sure doesn't feel like it... Scarf and gloves this morning!!

Argh working in a bakery is TERRIBLE for weight loss!!! No I don't need to pay for anything, the millions of cookies I seem to eat are leftovers usually. I'll bake a whole box of cookies which is a certain weight and can be anywhere between 450-500 cookies... then I pack them into 24pks. Which means if I'm one cookie short I can easily have 23 leftover cookies that we can't sell, so I eat them and put them in the staffroom and put them out as samples. If I'm baking 5-10 different varieties of cookies, you can just imagine how many leftovers there can be!!! :nopity:

I really hope it cools down too, it hasn't been below 30C for about 2 weeks and no sign of cooling down this week. I'm very over it!!!

Last night I ended up going to the casino. I treated myself to a small coke zero which I'm not beating myself up over, I only have soft drink once every few months. So meh.
I've already done my exercise for the day today, I've been on 2 different 1hr walks... I woke up early and did my normal route, then I walked a friend to the physio and back which was another hour. So yay, DONE!

Here's the food plan for today:

5 weet-bix with skim milk
Lite orange and mango jelly with 200g low fat vanilla Greek yogurt
3 spinach and feta filo tarts
2 tiny frozen bananas with 1 scoop protein powder
4 vita weats with 100g cottage cheese
Lean cuisine meal- Spaghetti marinara

Total cals: 1699

Not really sure what I'm getting up to today- my friend will be coming back for an hour or so after the physio, and I have a little cleaning to do. Might be going to a movie with Wade this afternoon... Just going to be a nice cruisy day.
Looking forward to weigh-in tomorrow, I'm sure I've gotten to 71kg easy!!

Good day to all- I'm going to snoop in some diaries!! :sifone:

Got the munchies a bit this arvo and ended up eating 2 more spinach and feta tarts and a protein bar... still managed a 400cal deficit for the day. Hoping I'll still hit 71 tomorrow!

Good morning all!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just stepped on the scales... 70.9kg!! YAY!! 700g bites the dust.
My next weigh-in will be the end of the fourth week- I'm going to try my hardest to smash a whole kg and get down to single digits to lose... so 69.9kg is what I'm aiming for next week!! But realistically I'll be happy with 70.4kg :D

Really got to clean up my eating a bit anyway... hopefully this week will be good calorie-wise at least!!! The only thing so far that might get me off track is my family is coming up Sun night and are staying, and I'm shouting everyone to a movie in the Gold Class cinema on the Mon... So we'll be having lunch and stuff in the movie. I plan on being good of course, but there isn't the healthiest selection of food. Cross that bridge when I come to it I guess!! My lil sis is moving over east on the Tues too :( She's following her boyfriend and his band that got a record deal over there. Gunna miss her, she's my baby! (Well not really a baby, she's 21 soon but you know what I mean)

Anyhoo... I'm off to the gym now, will post food later because I'm doing some baking n stuff today and want to work out calories in stuff before I sort my food out. Have a good day all, I'll be back later!

KILLED it at the gym this morning, I was there for around 45 mins... did 5min warm up on treadmill, 30mins of machines and weights, then 10mins of stretching. Then I walked for an hour, so I've well and truly done my exercise for the day!!

Just did a little bit of baking (well, non-bake baking haha... don't know what else to call it. Putting together no-bake recipes?) I made protein bars and homemade chocolate (with coconut oil, raw cacao, pure organic maple syrup... YUM) Calculated all the calories, so here's the food plan for the day:

75g sultana bran cereal with skim milk
Lite orange and mango jelly with 200g low fat vanilla Greek yogurt
Homemade chocolate
3 spinach and feta filo tarts
Homemade protein bar
4 vita weats with 100g low fat cottage cheese
Lean cuisine meal- chicken and spinach risotto

Total cals- 1713.

Planning on today being an awesomely perfect day!!

heyyy I really enjoyed reading your diary! Congratulations on the 700gm loss! Thats a fair bit right there.

So I was looking at your feed and see that you also like to eat Weet Bix as I do (very Australian of us).. have you ever tried having three with half a cup of all bran? It's soooo feeling, full of fibre! I also sprinkle about 25 gms of sultanas on it as wel so that I have some fruit intake in the morning :sifone:

anyways i love it just cos it keeps me full!

oh and I'm in the same boat as you as far as the sister situation goes.. both of my sisters moved to the states so it's been hard! Argh!

Yum, that does sound good. I found I feel a lot fuller today just from switching from weet-bix to sultana bran, yay for fiber!! Also I like sultanas on anything anyway :D

My family live a couple hours down south from where I live now anyway, but yea lil sis is moving to Victoria. Feels like forever away, and it's so expensive to travel anywhere within Australia!! (Well expensive to travel anywhere really)

Thanks for dropping by my diary!

Are you able to get figs or dates easily in australia?

For 2 figs its about 110 calories and packed with fiber, 5 grams.

They're delicious, I love them anyway. Great for getting more fiber in your diet.

You're gorgeous! Have you thought about starting a before and after/or inbetween journal? What's your goal weight? Thank you also for taking the time to comment on mine. We're the same height too.

Hey Spark, thanks for visiting my journal :D It means a lot because you're such a great inspiration to me.

I'm not really a great fan of figs, but I LOVE dates!! I love them on their own, or they are great for sweetening stuff that I bake. Mmmm I put some in those protein bars I made yesterday (which taste AMAZING) :D

I don't really want to start a before/inbetween/after thread until I have some inbetween photos... hopefully in a few weeks I will!! Then I will for sure!! Oh and my weight goal is 60kg, or 132lbs.

Well everyone, my day is off to a flying start already... worked 5-8, walked the 30mins home, then dragged my bike down the 4 flights of stairs and went on a hellish 1hr bike ride uphill and against the wind. I thought I was going to die haha. Big sense of accomplishment when I got home... (and carried my 18kg bike back up the 4 flights of stairs without falling down... my legs were shaking and I'm SO sore from gym yesterday!) Anyhoo, I'm thoroughly pooped now!! :svengo: :svengo: :svengo:
Exercise for the day= DONE!!

Food for the day:

75g sultana bran with skim milk
Lite raspberry jelly with low fat Greek yogurt
2 homemade coconut oil chocolates
Homemade protein bar*
2 slices of Burgen rye with 2 eggs and 2 beef chevups
4 vita weats with 100g low fat cottage cheese
Lite rye Sorj wrap with vegetarian chicken burger, 1 slice of cheese and a tomato

Total cals: 1925

*My homemade protein bars taste incredible!!! They taste like chocolate rumballs... and Christmas... only better lol. If anyone is interested this is the recipe I used:

I didn't use choc chips, and I put 4 scoops of choc coconut flavoured protein whey powder in them. YUM YUM YUM!!! Cut them into 12, and I worked out the calories on Fitday... the breakdown is:
Cals 295, Fat 16g, Carb 27g, Prot 12g, Fiber 2g.

I just feel better about eating them because I know there's nothing nasty in them... whereas any I've looked at in a store have hundreds of ingredients I can't even pronounce.

Anyhoo... I'm all sweaty and dripping all over my poor couch so I think I'll shower and come back to read diaries a bit later. Happy Thursday everyone!

I'm so tired of regular chocolate or strawberry protein powder, where do you get this chocolate coconut stuff? I love coconut!

Good job on the cardio!

The protein powder I use is BSN Dessert Protein, I've just switched to it from a female one (the BSN is for guys n gals) It's tastes awesome!! I have choc coconut candy bar and fresh cinnamon roll... They also have several other different flavours to any other powder I've ever seen. Just google it, you might be able to find a supplier near you (unsure if it's an Aussie thing or not!)

Woohoo just thought I'd let everyone know I had another perfect day... 2 down, 5 to go. Determined to be under 70kg by next week (or at least try damn hard to be!!)

It's Friiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiday!!

I worked this morning 5am-8am, then walked the 30mins home, and then went for my usual 1hr walk... Planning on a resistance workout later in the day, I've written a program for myself that I'll do that's mostly lower body.

Food plan today:

75g Sultana bran with skim milk
Homemade protein bar
Lite raspberry jelly with 200g low fat vanilla Greek yogurt
2 Sorj lite rye wraps with tinned chicken in red curry, 2 slices of cheese, 2 eggs slices of tomato
2 vita weats with 50g low fat cottage cheese
2 Sorj lite rye wraps with 1 tin of tuna in springwater, small tin of 4 bean mix, 2 slices of cheese, a tomato

Total cals- 2011

Off to check diaries!! Have a great weekend all!!

Hey Luz, thanks for the warm welcome back! It's good to be back.
You seem to be doing well and getting lots of walking in. I would not be able to lose weight while working in a bakery so you should be proud with every day that goes by without indulging!
That's crazy how expensive bananas are now for you - those are our cheapest fruit here. I usually buy 6 and it's mostly under a dollar. I have noticed a lot of other food prices jumping though. Makes me sad.
Glad to see you are sticking with it and staying positive. Have a great weekend!!
