Lucy's Fit Life (Contains large amounts of nut butter and coffee)

Dropping in quickly to say that today Sizzler is happening for lunch. Argh! I've adjusted my meals, taken out my planned lunch and afternoon tea which gives me around 550 cals to spend at the salad bar. As that's all I'll be doing- making my own salads too, not eating their nasty pre-made ones drowned in mayo. I'm thinking a taco salad with heaps of veges, a bit of savoury mince and some guac. Nom nom nom!

Also went out and did some shopping this morning, I bought some leather weight lifting gloves as that callus on my hand is killer! Need it for gym tomorrow morning!!
 
Back from Sizzler. Ate slightly more than planned, I reckon 700ish calories. Made a salad with lettuce, cucumber, tomato, olives, cheese, bacon and guacamole, topped it with some sesame seed topping stuff, then had a piece of fish. Instead of having pizza for dinner I'm having a Quest bar a bit later and that's it! So deficit of around 781 today.

Back to being strict on plan tomorrow!! I mean, today is still a good day but obviously anything eaten at a restaurant can be a bit iffy for what stuff has been cooked in, sneaky carbs etc. Trying hard to not eat out too often for sure! In saying that if asked I won't say no, just got to be smart about what I decide to eat.

Not doing much tomorrow after PT, just going to get onto some schoolwork. I start 2 online subjects this week and thought I'd smash them both out tomorrow. Going to use the weekend to seriously get in to studying all this new stuff in chem.

Good job not topping your salad with a rib eye steak. That usually adds a few extra calories.
 
Back from PT. Chest day and it was super painful. I feel totally weak now! Most of my legs/back DOMS are gone now thankfully, think I'll be pretty sore tomorrow. I think tomorrows is shoulders/arms. Will see how I go, my tris are already feeling pretty destroyed! Eh tomorrows session is super early in the morning too, 6am. It will only really suck tomorrow though, by next fri I should have a bike so I won't have to get up quite so early. Also looking in to getting a new heart rate monitor as mine seems to have disappeared in the move here.

Not planning on leaving the house today, got to get these two new subjects started and the rest of the day I'll just be chillin. Want a day that I don't have to leave the house and put make up on!

Potentially won't have anything to report the rest of the day so I'm going to post tomorrows food plan now. Might be back later to catch up on other peoples diaries though.

B 2 eggs, 1 tomato and 100g bacon cooked in a bit of butter
S Homemade choc brownie
L Last 1/4 of that homemade pizza
S 200g Greek yogurt with strawberries
D 140g slow cooked roast beef, roast pumpkin and green beans with homemade gravy.

Exercise 20mins walking to the gym and back, 30mins PT, 20mins walking to work and back. I'm working 9-5 tomorrow.

I officially survived my first week of PT. Woo!!! Shoulders and arms today, feeling incredibly weak now. Going to go in to the gym for a few minutes tomorrow, got no plans for the entire day so thought I'd get in a little bit of cardio- just the walk there, 10mins high intensity spinning, then the walk back. Just to get out of the house and get my heart rate up, activate my legs/glutes again. Husband reckons he's coming in too, we'll see!!

Working 9-5 today, got a beef in the slow cooker so I'm excited about dinner already!!!

L Toasted coconut flour wrap with 30g cheese and tomato

D 140g leftover roast beef, roast pumpkin and green beans with gravy.

Back from my lil cardio session at the gym, ended up also doing just under 10mins on the elliptical with really high resistance. I was on and off though, my husband was with me and he's never been to a gym before and had no idea what to do. I showed him/helped him with a couple of really basic things and after that he was already wrecked so we left. I'm just happy he finally decided to go since he's paying for the membership! He really should sign up for PT too though so someone is guiding him and helping him start off.

I have to go out again today too, I'm down to the last tiny bit of coffee in my tin and I can't handle caffeine at all anymore so will be going for a 20min walk down the street and back soon.

Can't wait for weigh in tomorrow, I KNOW I've lost weight as my waist is appearing again already. So excited. My goal this week was to weigh 70kg on the dot- let's see if I got there!!! I'll be making the deficit Fitday worked out for me to get there so we'll see.

So this afternoon was interesting. I was really tired- I think from just sitting around a few hours. I get RAVENOUS when I'm tired. I knew I shouldn't be hungry but I just HAD to eat so I had a Quest bar at around 2pm. Then a bit after that I just wanted to eat everything so I ate my dinner early... then suddenly I was really full and had a heap of energy and somehow ended up getting my husband outside to explore with me. Ended up getting carried away and didn't get home for over an hour, so now I've done an insane amount of cardio today and worried it'll make me retain fluid for tomorrow lol. Cardio is NOT my friend! Strangely I've ended up with the exact same deficit as planned anyway.

Found a really amazing spot just around the corner where you can walk underneath the main bridge and get an amazing view of the city!!! Took a photo, might upload it a bit later. Such a beautiful day! We actually went down there because I'm getting a bike next week and someone told me that all the waterfront suburbs are connected by a huge bike track- so you can pretty much ride from one end of the Gold Coast to the other all the way along the beach. There's a lot under construction there at the moment so it wouldn't be as accessible as it usually would be but I think we found the bike tracks. So cool!! Husband won't get a bike though. Sigh.
 
Hey Lucy, biking is SUCH good fun. When I was recently on secondment in a new city! I cycled 10 m to work some mornings and it was such a glorious way to start the day - I wish I could do that where I live now to my normal office! I really miss it.

Do you think the ravenous feeling could be down to fluctuations in blood sugar levels? I used to get that a lot.

Jjjay- I eat so low carb I barely get any fluctuations in my blood sugar at all (max days are around 50g, been doing this for so long feeling ANY hunger is weird at all). Was definitely tiredness, I've been waking up super early every day for no reason. Like this morning- I was awake again at 5.30am on a Sunday!!! Arrgh! Not going to bed any earlier too so it's really frustrating.

Bit of a disappointing weigh in today. Argh. Was 70.3kg so only lost 400g despite a perfect week. Considering I have been hungry a few days a week I'm wondering if maybe I am underestimating my calorie burn during the day? Going to aim for a 700 calorie deficit average this week, I think only one week isn't enough to see how I'm going with what I'm currently doing. Going to make sure my fibre is below 30g every day as that stalls me more than anything else and some days have been above. Also will try to stick to just 3 coffees a day, the drop of almond or dairy milk in them would make negligible difference but we'll see!
It could be nothing really, could just be retaining from so much cardio like I feared. But hey, I guess we'll see!

Today is going to be a heavier day, just because it's kind of ended up being my weekly 'cheat' day I guess. Will end up with a 470ish cal deficit so will be pretty easy to work the average back up to 700 through the week. Also going to up fat this week, got to make sure I'm getting my macros right and eating mostly natural foods (except for the little homemade treats I allow myself every day. Really got to be a one a day thing I think!) So that's the plan, let's see how next week goes!

I would probably end up getting a basket for any if I don't get a bike with one already on there, just to make my life easy. Going to go and have a test ride on Wed!!!!!! How excited am I!
 
Sorry guys, posting for the third time today lol. Kind of procrastinating and getting distracted (should be studying haha). Here's the pic I took on my walk yesterday, found this awesome little spot about 5 minutes from our house. Also we are much closer to the beach than I thought, this is the marina which is not far at all, to get to the beach all I have to do is cross the road and walk a few streets up (would probably take under 30mins on foot).

As you can see the weather is gorgeous!!! Been like that every day for the past fortnight. Sure beats stepping outside to the desert every day! If I turned around and took a photo it's all park/greenery behind me.
 
Oh sorry again, making a fourth post today as I haven't put in tomorrows food yet. Haha. Ending today on a 440 cal deficit which I think is pretty good for a free-for-all kind of day.

Haha can be pretty hellish during tourist season I've heard, we live in the business district though so don't get much of it over here.

Training was really hard today, legs day. I felt so weak too, I woke up hungry and ate a protein muffin but I don't think it was enough. I still went up in weight on most things but I was pretty shaky. Been really ravenous all day too, have been eating constantly. It seems to be genuine hunger so I'm wondering if it's because I've been eating at a deficit for about a month now. Anyway, ate extra today. As soon as I knew I'd be hungry all day I went straight to the supermarket before I started craving sugary things. Got a pack of low carb choc protein balls and a 5 pack of mini babybel cheeses. Ate the protein balls and was finally satisfied, just got through my lunch and had a babybel after and now I'm feeling pretty good. So hopefully only 330cals over plan today, still below maintenance. If I get hungry before home time though I don't mind finishing the cheese.

Not going to try to "make up" these calories either, I'll stick to my plan and will probably end on a deficit average of 680-700 this week which I'm still happy with.
 
Ended up finishing the babybel cheese and eating a protein cupcake- ended exactly on maintenance which I'm happy with. Will probably feel a bit bloated/fluid-y tomorrow but should SMASH my workout with all the extra energy. Hopefully it'll help me sleep really well tonight too! Should still end the week with slightly more than a 600 cal deficit which I'm happy with. Hopefully I'll see 69.7kg on Sat- I'll be pretty happy if I manage to lose 1kg in two weeks even though I'm not losing at the rate I hoped.

Don't feel as bloated or awful as I thought I would today. Had breakfast and now gearing up for back day! My legs are killing me from yesterday right now, argh. Well, more my hamstrings and butt from doing stiff legged deads for the first time in over a year.

I'm so excited, finally found a bike I really like. Emailed the store to see if I can go in and test ride it tomorrow, here it is:


Also getting a new heart rate monitor this week which I'm also excited about. Mainly so I can track my cardio! I picked this one:

So a week of exciting new toys!! Also have to get something to wear to a work product night on Mon next week. It's a training night and they're serving us drinks/dinner so have to dress smart/casual and take into account it's for work. Gunna be fun looking for something haha.

Anyhoo... I've got to get ready for the gym!
 
Woohoo, went test riding bikes this afternoon!! Was so fun! Found one I liked, had it put aside with a helmet, lock and lights so will go in tomorrow morning and pick them up. This is the bike I decided on:



It's exactly the same as that except last years model and in black and pink. I'm going to ask about the newer model tomorrow when I go in as I like the cream, if they don't have it I'm happy with the one I put aside. So excited!!! It's got much thinner tyres and much lighter than the last bike I had, so I'll be going a lot faster haha. Should be able to get up hills with this one!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Training was awesome this morning. I was so pumped and energetic from all the extra food I ate yesterday, smashed out an awesome back session. Went up in all weights again, was completely destroyed afterward. I'm getting sore already! My forearms are burning pretty badly during training though, had to use wrist straps. Forearms are a bit weak from not training for so long!

Not much planned tomorrow, I'm going to get my bike in the morning, probably will do one of my units in the morning too, then uni in the arvo. Our car finally gets here on Thu too, they're going to call tomorrow to let us know when it'll be dropped off.
