The flying ants confused me because almost September - then I remembered where you live. I'm generally fine with bees and wasps, but running into a swarm of them would terrify me. Horse flies are just horrible all on their own although I just learned that, as with mosquitos, only the females draw blood and then only to get enough protein for egg laying. Still doesn't make me want them to bite me but at least it sounds more sensible.

Yea I wasn't too happy to walk into a swarm, pretty sure I awkwardly ran awy and made a sound like 'eeEEee' and got a couple of weird looks from some people tending their gardens! Ahhhhh.

Exercise Quad rehab exercises 20mins, 10mins stretching, walked around the river with a friend for 45mins, walked around the block when I got home to get my last 10mins in. Fitbit says I burned 2061 calories, my TDEE projection based on previous months is currently 1854. Also ignore the sleep thing, I charged my fitbit overnight and tried entering sleep manually and it didn't work (kept setting my start sleep time at midnight, I went to sleep just after 9).

So yesterday ended up being my higher calorie day, I wanted to eat all the carbs. Period is due today so I'm guessing thats the culprit. It would have actually been a lot worse, I ordered the chips off Uber eats with a tub of Ben and Jerrys in sweet cream and cookies but they didn't have any (the only flavour with soft enough chunks for me to eat with my sore teeth) and they subbed for a different flavour that according to the tub has chunks of chocolate and choc coated almonds so it may as well have been a tub of concrete. Oh well, Ash will eat it. I was pretty upset about it at the time though! I think I'll still work ice cream into my calories on Sunday. Actually thinking I might split my high calorie day into 2 high days and keep the rest at 1400, going to try that this week and next week.

It was nice catching up with a friend yesterday and she really enjoyed the walk so we are going again tomorrow before she works (so kinda early... 6.45). I didn't push myself on that walk though like I normally would as she isn't very fit and we were talking etc.

Absolutely mutilated both my heels in a pair of shoes I haven't worn for a while, they are SO comfy and supportive but they started rubbing halfway through todays walk. Not really up to much today, I feel really good as I had an amazing sleep last night but it's made me do everything I normally do a low slower today.

I´d be upset as well :flame: Icecream choice is an extremely precise science at the best of times and subbing something with nuts is more than a little unthinking. Good for calorie count though.

Had a pretty upset stomach yesterday arvo, I think it might be hormonal? On day 3 of my sugar pill today and my period hasn't started yet. I'm all out of whack lol.

Yay, Great British bake off is back so we watched that last night. I love that show.

This week has been very up and down in terms of food, I think I'm going to call this a maintenance week.

I'm super anxious as a bit of my mouth that I thought had an ulcer in it I'm now fairly certain is an abscess on the root of a tooth- it doesn't hurt a great deal (still just feels like a mouth ulcer) but when I pull up my lip and expose the very top of my gum it's suddenly very red and swollen. I can't pay for the dentist until tomorrow so I'm going to see a doctor today to see if they want to start me on antibiotics. I'm so upset, what if I paid all this money for braces only to need a tooth pulled? Urgh. I've never even had a cavity. Or if I need a root canal even with our amazing insurance it'll set us back a lot.

Also the blisters I got on my heels almost a week ago now won't heal because if I leave them exposed they dry out and as soon as I start walking they tear open... but if I put bandaids on them because of where they are they get looser and looser throughout the day due to movement/ sweat etc and when they fall off they take the top layer of skin with them. Just not winning at the moment and feeling kinda crummy.

:grouphug: You poor thing, Lucy! I hate blisters. I really hope you don't need anything more done to your teeth. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, xo

Ugh, that sucks! I hope the tooth thing turns out better than you fear. About the blisters: do you use normal bandaids or the special blister ones? Depending on where on your feet they are the blister patches stay in place much better. An alternative can be to use a good (large enough, with wedges cut to make it fit the shape of your foot and any corners rounded of) bandaid and to bandage over it firmly so nothing can rub against the edges.

go to the chemist and get a product called second skin, it is specifically for treating blisters, I use it a lot at sports events etc. where the athletes are on their feet all day or multiple days. I would not be without it in my first aid kit.

Thanks Cate. I seriously hate teeth at the moment, I thought getting my braces off would mean I wouldn't have to think about them for a while!

I was using hydrocolloids/blister blocks but they came off after only a couple of hours and they seemed to mesh to the top layer of skin more than the regular bandaids. I put the super sticky cloth bandaids over the top to keep a seal but that didn't work either.

Thanks, will look tomorrow!!! I'm running out of ideas and my poor heels look and feel terrible!

Decided not to go to the doctor today as I got a dentist appointment first thing tomorrow morning. Hope its not SUPER serious but I mean, it doesn't look good right now. I'm trying a new (highly rated) dental office too, when I went to my regular dental office a month ago my dentist of the last 5 years was no longer there. Trying a place more local to us instead.

Still planning on weighing myself in the morning though it will likely be terrible as I ate heaps on Sunday and it usually takes a good 3-4 days for me to get rid of water weight, just got to remind myself theres consequences to eating like an asshole lol.

I hope the second skin helps; sounds like it got a LOT better since I last used it (15 years ago?), must try it next time I walk through the balls of my feet. That´s a place where no other product has so far stayed in place for me (hence bandaging) The blister patches ARE terrible if they don´t keep in place, but great if they do.

I was randomly blessed by the weight loss fairy today. 61.7kgs! Then I remembered it's because it's my first sugar pill week on this pill and got kind of angry thinking how much lower it would have been if my average intake wasn't 2300 calories this week lol. Hey, at least I'm out of the 62s now! I'm not planning to spend 8 weeks in the 61s either, though I would say my weight will likely hover for the next 3 weeks till I cycle off again. Damn hormones.

Dentist was not serious, YAY. It's either a chemical burn or an allergic reaction to something. It's SUPER red and there's like... 5 ulcers on it now and the swelling goes down to my gum line now. But apart from looking hideous and feeling incredibly irritated, it's all good. I'm booked in for a fortnight though for x-rays and a clean as I'll have my braces off by then.

Decided to look back on last month and try to work out the weight loss... So I estimated myself to be 61.8kg last week, and then would have gained 200g this week assuming fitbit data is correct, but I weighed in at 61.7kg. So I changed last months loss in my spreadsheet to 61.5kg and the TDEE average for the month seemed about right, 1941 calories. So I think the fitbit is likely more accurate than I initially thought as that average includes when I was walking 20mins less per day and had slightly less strenuous workouts (and then each week got harder till now).

I think I won't be too angry if I feel like I need to eat more like 1700 calories, going to be kind of winging it a bit for this month. 1600 is the aim though.

Also decided to share progress pics, I've hidden them in a spoiler as I'm wearing bikini/undies so might be a bit NSFW or if you're out and about.

The before is Jan last year when I was around 69-70ish kgs (bmi of just over 24). Was training regularly and hard too. The before face one I think was from the previous year when I was 73kg (bmi 25.6) but no body pics from then lol.

I kind of have visible obliques!! Omg! Really wish my boobs would shrink though, they look smaller in the second pic but they're not. I'm wearing a compression top that flattens them and smooshes them together lol. My back size has dropped so wearing all my bras on the tightest notches but cups are still the same. Argh. Refuse to buy new bras till I'm closer to goal, my size is too expensive.

Looking great in both the before AND after pics tbh. I feel you on the boob issue. I wish I could just snip my fingers and have them three sizes smaller (but without becomin saggy!).

Hi Lucy! Amazing progress keep it up!!
