-----------------------

Suffering pretty serious DOMS from Pilates I did on Tues, maaaaaan. One of the updated exercises from the physio was BRUTAL. Going to pull back on the reps when I do lower body again tomorrow, I'm used to random pain but it's pretty shit getting pain every time I sit/ stand/ think.

Did upper body today and walked, the weather has been pretty nice!! Coming up to my husband's days off, planning a few junk foody things over the next couple days (already planned them out lol). Not much else going on, taking the cats to vet to get their claws clipped tomorrow and my husband has an appt in the arvo. I think Sat we will be binge watching Unreal.

Hope the soreness goes away soon. I want to crawl into my computer screen and eat your food.

Your lunch looks unbelieveable! Yum yum. And your calories are still so controlled. It's amazing. Do you tend to stay away from snacks? I think maybe I rely on them too much. And then I just snack on the wrong things.

I used to snack A LOT until I kind of realised that just having snack type food in the house (even healthy stuff) would give me opportunity to mindlessly eat it. When I started my journal on here I was in an in between phase getting rid of snacks by replacing them with the BCAAs and protein. I've swapped the BCAAs out for a water flavour enhancer that is 0 calorie (wisdom natural stevia drops) which I will hopefully phase out too, and I've switched my protein out for kombucha and just know I have the protein there if I need the extra to meet macros. It means I can have fairly large meals since I used to like having fairly large snacks- I'd have 300-400 cal meals 3x a day and then 2 snacks with the same calories. It's SO MUCH more satisfying to have the extra meat, have 5oog of potatoes as chips with my lunch etc. Took a lot of re-training but I find it so much easier this way now.

Mmmm your lunch makes me hunggryyyy!

Not gunna lie, it was pretty awesome! I got a end of range cheapo air fryer that pretty much only does chips (it has a vegetable button but.. I don't know how you'd use it for vegetables). I think it's the best money I've ever invested in a kitchen appliance. That and my hand blender!

Calories ended up a bit higher than I was aiming for over the weekend. I'll have to be a bit tighter on calories next week to reach this months target but 100% doable, already made my meal plan. Here is what a junk food-y day looks like when I'm being strict...

100% worth it at the time but then I feel completely starving for the next day or two even though it's more than my daily average calorie goal and I return to normal food straight away. I LOVE ice-cream so much but honestly... 1000cals I could make a huge pile of chips, have some (not as good but still good) halo top, and still have room for cheese and pickles lol.

Husband had 3 days off this week instead of 2 as his roster is going back to what it was so that's been nice!! We have a weird fascination with independent supermarkets and on Friday went hopping between Aldi and a few IGA stores. Can always find fun and weird food and bits and pieces, got some interesting kombucha flavours (like watermelon above). Yea it's a weird thing to do for fun haha. He manages a huge supermarket for work though and I just really like food so I think we both like it for inspiration in different ways. Saturday we went to a burger joint that had just opened and the queue was insane, 30mins in line then 20mins waiting for food for a mediocre fast food burger. Ahhhhhhh. Binge watched a TV show that afternoon.
Sunday I caught up with a friend I haven't seen for a while and got Mexican food for lunch, MUCH higher calorie day because I saw nacho fries and my brain screamed YES. I think it was 1930 for the day yesterday? I'm so glad to be back to normal food today!!

Food today-

Breakfast- Usual protein pancakes
Lunch- Homemade pizza! I had mine on a mountain bread with ham, mushrooms, spinach, cheese, tomato paste.
Dinner- Black bean burger on a sandwich thin with a bega cheese slice, guacamole, tomato, lettuce.
Other- Kombucha.

The Baskin Robbins looks unbelievable but the fact that it's as much calories as two really nice meals gives one pause. Totally worth it the odd time though! Your weekend sounded fun.

An airfryer is another thing I´d love to have if I had the space. I love fries!

Best. Thing. EVER. I think it's pretty funny that I bought an appliance specifically for chips though!!

Hahaha I 100% wanted it at the time, didn't regret it until the next day when I felt like I was starving all day for no reason. Might stick with Halo top for the next few weeks (although, just found out our local supermarket sells Biscoff ice-cream.... AHHHHH) I think I need to plan ice-cream in advance though, I think if I'd banked a few extra hundred calories during the week and had a proper dinner I would have been better off.

I'm so sleeeeeeeeepy today! Not sure why but every now and then I wake up while Ash is getting ready for work (he usually leaves just before 6am every morning) which happened today... then once I was awake I got hayfever. Not tired in a binge-y way, this is dead dog tired... like too tired to get up and eat hahaha. Also could be because today I seemed to have gotten a surprise period over a week early. Really need to change the pill I'm on, I had a period that lasted 3 weeks a few months ago. It's the lowest dose pill there is and the doctor said I'd likely need to change it a few months into it, I think it's been 10 months... only starting to get funky periods now. It's not just breakthrough bleeding either, it's full on cramps and all. GAH. Just realised it might affect my weigh in tomorrow too.

Grocery shopping tonight, I have a list of fun things to try to help me get through a slightly lower calorie week next week without starving I guess! I think I'm aiming for a 1450cal average which is only a 100 a day difference to what I was already aiming for... but being prepared is not a bad idea. Got low cal sausages and meatballs (they are a mix of meat n veg), vege burgers, black bean pasta that is mostly similar to the shirataki noodles but better (only 59cals for 50g!), various soups, a few other bits and pieces I wanted to try. Also ordered some peanut flour online to see how it goes in my pancakes and oats for extra protein, think it's coming today. Have I mentioned how much I love food shopping?

Todays food (pretty boring today because I am feeling lazy)

Breakfast- Oats with honey and PB (I only had 1 egg left so couldn't make pancakes... but I was reminded how much I love oats!)
Lunch- Black bean burger same as yesterday's dinner
Dinner- Pulse pasta with tuna, cream cheese and veg
Other- Kombucha, protein shake (had to make up the protein I lost since I didn't have pancakes)

Periods SUCK.
Have you tried the black bean past before? I´ve had lentil pasta and chickpea pasta but not black bean. Lentil was meh, chickpea was horrible. Actually threw that away and I don´t like throwing out food.

Yea especially when they aren't due!! Nothing like a surprise period lol. Hoping itll go away and not hang around until after my actual period is over, I think I have just over a week in my pill pack before I get to the sugar pills.

I really like black bean pasta! I love black bean everything though haha. To me it tastes like wholemeal. Absolutely freaks out my husband though, looks like a plate of scary black worms!

Grocery shopping done. Didn't do much the rest of the day, currently binge watching a really intense docu-series on Netflix on the Vietnam war. I got so sucked into it I lost my whole afternoon! Also had these sooks keeping me company :p

This weeks calorie average ended up at 1742 so should still lose 200ish grams though I doubt the scale will show it tomorrow. I expect a woosh next week if my hormones have decided to calm down! Going to the doctor on Sunday as my husband needs his migraine meds updated so I'll go and change my prescription too.

My cats are both ridiculous :D

Ok so weigh in was shit as I guessed it would be, 63.1kg. But I'm fluid-y as hell and a bit constipated and it was expected so brushed it off. Going to make sure I do better at keeping a visual food diary this week, it helps me keep on track a bit better. Here's today's food-

dV3vHVx.jpg

Totals- 1342 calories, 118 carb, 40.5 fat, 101 protein.

Looks gorgeous! Good attitude about the weigh-in, too. Sometimes it´s just something you need to get over with.

Yum. I SO should not have looked at your food for the day as I'm doing a "fast" day. The meatballs! Drool.....

I always like to weigh myself even when I know it's not going to be great, it still averages out over time.

I actually didn't make the meatballs, they're sold in Woolies and the brand is Perfectly balanced. I also really like their sausages, they're all pretty low calorie!
