Losing Weight in the Land of Chocolate and Cheese!

A:D You girls are the greatest :D

Kate - I KNOW about the All Bran! Hahaha. But it was mushy and reasonably tasteless, which is what I was going for. Plus a bit of fibre doesn't go astray at the moment ;) And you are the sweetest for whatyou said about my avatar  Everyone seems to think it'll be a boy - me and dunc included. Whcih is really strange... I think that I'm second guessing myself, because I had always thought I'd have girls... which then makes methink I'll actually have boys... if that makes sense. Ha!

Rainbow - UGH CURRY! GROSS! I bloody LOVE curry, but anything with flavour does not mix at the moment. I'm trying to sneak veggies, but it's tough when even chopping them makes me gag. Soup I also can't do... I made a huge pot afew days ago but now can't fathom it.... I had a frozen dinner tonight though with some veg in it.

Princess - :D You are so sweet! Thanks lovely.

Tetemcg - I am exactly the same as you! I need INFORMATION overload! And I'm getting it! All these SHOULDS drive me nuts! But, they do also say to just do what you can, and that you ay nit be able to face a veg for weeks... so I'm taking my multi and remaining positive. :) Thanks a million times for your gorgeous comment - you make me feel so happy. :)

Cate - Hi darlin! Thanks for that :D

______________________
Been a little more ACTIVE! I even went for an itty bitty swim! Figured I had better soak up the last of this incredible weather before all the slush arrives... And I've been doing a little bit of walking... but I'm still SO TIRED and still need at least two solid naps throughout the day... which is kind of ridculous after 10 hours sleeps at night... But being able to do a little exercise a good change.

FOOD TODAY (don't judge me)
- blueberry pancake and herbal tea
- slice of onion quiche and organic lemonade
- frozen dinner - spinach and ricotta canelloni
- 4 dried apricots

AHeya Joh and Beanie :)

You made my face screw up reminding me about mushy All-bran!! My mum would always put me on a diet (for like 3 days and then fed me crap for the rest of the week) when i was 13-14 and she made me eat it.....i use to shovel it down so quick so it was gone before it was mush!!!! Ewwww
But, if it works for you and it's easy for you to eat and keep down then it's cool (still eeewwwww lol but cool)

I slept loads in the early stages too, it does get better lol you will find you can actually stay awake all day a lot of the time in a few months :) I use to go to sleep in the dentist chair every lunch break at work and was in bed by 7pm.

STOP bloody apologising for your food NOBODY IS GOING TO JUDGE YOU!!!! Eat what you like or what you can!! If you apologise again i am gonna have to send you a post of just :cuss: Get me all bossy and shouting tee hee!!

AKatie - Isn't it funny how things like that stick in our brains! Camomile tea for me is a barf-inducer at the best of times, as is egg nog (my mum's secret way of trying to get me to have protein when I was in the throes of glandular fever). UGH! I've been wishing there has been a random dentist's chair lying around while we have been showing our friend Switzerland the last few days. I've been exhausted! But it is actually getting better, thank god. Starting to see light at the end of the tunnel.

:D Hahaha - a post of you being all bossy would be funny! I'd like to see it! haha. But thanks for being so lovely. I just feel, as usual, like I need to justify everything. But you're right. I'll stop it.

____________

FOOD YESTERDAY I had vegetables! :D :D :D
- small bowl porridge cooked in milk with 1/2 raspberry yoghurt
- 6 roasted chestnuts (mmm.... first for the year! I love it!)
- Grilled chicken breast with SALAD in a light creamy dressing
- 1/2 chocolate muffin and a grapefruit juice
- 1/3 large spring roll, 1 chicken satay stick, 4 chips, green tea.

Feels like my belly has proper popped today. I weighed myself this morning (even though it's not saturday and I'll be in trouble when duncy gets home) and I've put on the 1.3 kg that I lost. PHEW! S'all good. Can't WAIT for the ob/gyn appointment on Tuesday! We will get to hear some crazy heartbeats... and I really want my iron levels checked. I just am looking forward to talking to someone about how I've been feeling and for her to checkthat everything is going okay. My worst fear is an ectopic... and any tiny twinge on the side makes me think it is. Ah well, just gotta wait until Tuesday!

AWell done on the salad!!!!! Lol at the random dentists chair :D A random gynaecology chair would be better though, seeing as your looking forwards to it this time :)

Glad beanie is starting to behave himself and is not making you as sick feeling.

Ooooh I love chestnuts. Wild mushrooms are coming into season as well :hurray:. I haven't had cabbage in ages which is another nice Autumn kinda veggie. Mmmmm Autumn. Delicious :)

Don't worry, you get all sorts of twinges and stuff when your pregnant xxxxx

AJoh, where are you.... I am sosososososososososo worried about you. I am actually shaking because I am so scared that something awful has happened. You've never disappeared, except with advance warning. Please let me know that everything is okay xxxx

APhew! Just checked facebook and your speeding along the writing train after your weekend writing workshop :D Don't ever do that to me again, y'hear lol. Probably my own fault. You most probably mentioned it somewhere!!!

Glad the writings going well :D What was the workshop like?

Writing workshop? Awesome! My other half just did his masters in Creative writing and he's been published a bit--What sort of stuff do you write? xxx

A:) Sorry Ruthie! I know, I'm addicted to this bloody place! I've been feeling a bit fraudulent though, being on here, as I'm not at any point at all where I have any control about my food intake or my exercise (ring any bells, darlin? And yet you still want me on here, I reckon!), so I actually was feeling like I'll just leave it for a bit, and write on here only when there are actually interesting things for me to say! Hmm... wonder when that will be, eh?

Yup! I've been at a fantastic writing workshop weekend. I'm about half-way through my novel now ('character driven, lyrical literary fiction', or so I've been told!) and these workshops are great when you are an expat living in a non-English speaking country. You meet a lot of like-minded people who also spend their days hiding in dark corners - no wonder we never bump into each other! :) I had to submit twenty pages of my novel to be accepted, and the feedback I have gotten has just taken the wind out of me. I'm gob-smacked at the faith these people have in me! So now I'm jumping on that writing train and going to really try to push that other baby out of me before Beanie gets pushed out of me! :)

TODAY
Week 9 - I can definitely see my belly - I certainly don't have a little barbie waist any more! But jeepers was I tired when this pic was taken... a little mascara wouldn't go astray! :)
http://weight-loss.fitness.com/image/id/298991/width/281/height/700

WELLLLLLLL seems my apetite is back! Not perfect, but it's back! I even managed to cook a REAL dinner! Protein is still out of the picture - I actually picked the chicken out of my dinner. Hm.
And so, I ate too much. I had the after-dinner munchies too. But I reckon I've eaten f%$& all for so long, it's about time!

FOOD
- 1/2 grapefruit and 1/2 apple
- croissant and herbal tea
- spaghetti bolognese with parmesan cheese
- spinach dahl, veggie curry (potato, sweet potato, peas, beans, tomato), basmati rice
- 3 sesame snaps and 50g milk chocolate

Awh, baby bump! Bet it's all starting to feel very real now, hey! You look fantastic and you already have your Mummy-to-be glow !

Ayour so adorable!!!! :grouphug: ....and you come on here tell us every thing about "beanie"...we love every last detail :)

A:D Thanks my lovelies.
Sunflower, Yep - it really is feeling real! It took a while to sink in, but I think I'm there now!
Tetemcg - :) So happy I can come on here and offload when I still can't tell any of my friends! It's so nice to know you are so excited for me :)

_____________

TODAY I had a craving. I woke up wanting hot chips. BADBADBAD things that they are. So I ignored it and made myself cinnamon oatmeal. AS IF that was going to cut it. For lunch, I cooked some noodles and had soy sauce and other things... thinking it was the salt I wanted... but I had one forkful then threw the rest away. By 2pm I was sick of it, so I jumped on my bike and went to MCDONALDS for the first time in... probably a year and had a bit of a gorge. I used to go about three times a week on the way home from work (god how humiliating to admit that to myself)! But it certainly hit the spot. And then, of course, made me feel grossly lathargic for the rest of the day.

My man was such a good hubby today! He helped make dinner and then did ALL the cleaning (including scrubbing the stove and splash-back) while I just sat there and watched. I told him this was like lady porn ;) haha.

BIG DAY TOMORROW
- the first big check-up! Hopefully we get to hear Beanie's heart-beat! I am really looking forward to being reassured that it's not ectopic (I think that every morning when something hurts...) and that everything is okay... And I get to ask lots of questions! Yay! We;ve been talking about names a lot. It is really fun :) I think, although it is early days, we have winners for both a boy and a girl. Thoguh EVERYONE thinks it is a boy :)

FOOD TODAY

- cinnamon oatmeal cooked in skim milk
- forkful of noodles with soy sauce
- Maccas cheeseburger and LARGE fries AND an apple pie (this took me over an hour to eat...)
- 1 soft shell taco with beef mince, tomato, lettuce, avocado, lite sour cream.

AHeya sweetie

McDonalds rock.......I know i shouldn't say it but they do and one now and then doesn't hurt. You just have to tell yourself that that is what Beanie wanted so that's what he got :)

You proper made me giggle comparing hubby doing the dishes to lady porn!!!!!!! You so need to get out more lovey :smilielol5:

I have a slight complaint..........You said that you feel wrong posting on a weightloss forum, well, bollocks to that. Please dont just post when you have something exciting to tell us. Please post as normal. I love reading your diary even if it is about dishes porn and maccy d's!!!!!

A:) Hahaha KATE You are totally right! I need to get out more! haha. What if I were to say that my man was naked at the time? Would that make it more interesting? ;) Thanks for being so suppprtive, my lovely friend. xx

Tetem - THANKS! I needed it!

________
TODAY

:hurray::hurray::hurray:
http://weight-loss.fitness.com/image/id/299340/width/350/height/234

Meanwhile, I've apparently miscalculated and I'm actually only eight weeks and one day. NOO!!! I have to wait even LONGER to tell everyone!

Beanie is right there in my belly, heart beating strongly, 1.7cm long and is due on May 14. :D

AOMG!!!!!! Hello Beanie :seeya:

I proper squealed seeing that!!!!! I am SO SO pleased everything is going well. Oh, why do you live so far away....I wanna hug!!!!

I'm lost for words. So i am gonna just sit here and stare at your little Beanie. So so pleased sweetie. Love & hugs. Xxx

AAwwwwwww, such a clear picture!!!! How cute!!!!

And whilst I have debated with myself whether to mention iit or not, I did in fact calculate your due day to within a day! I think I must have special powers as I was the one who did the baby dance that made you conceive in the first place lol.
I think its weird that pregnancy is calculated from the last period, not the moment of conception, your 4.5 weeks already :) I calculate you to be due on the 13th May lol, dunno why I'm saying that when you've already done it yourself. But still. Bubba will be a Gemini like me :)
You are allowed to treat yourself very now and then. You are preggers. And I know that insane feeling of only want to eat the food you want to it, and nothing else, goddammit, nothing ELSE!

Like what you said about all the writers crawling out of their dark corners to meet up :) Really happy for you that you got such amazing feedback. x

A:hurray: :hurray: :hurray: :hurray: Awee....Hi Beanie!! We are so happy to have our very own FAT FORUM FETUS!! LMAO....joke!!
but for real...such a gift...makes my heart happy :) :) :grouphug:

ABEANIE! !! ! I got tears in my eyes watching the photo, Im so happy for you guys! Awww.. Life is amazing. :)

A:D Nawwww you GUYS!!!!! What would I do without you!?!?! Beanie really does look like a little jelly bean with itty bitty arms and legs! Incredible... hehehe our Fat Forum Foetus! Awesome :) :) :) I'll be sure to bring that up on their 21st birthday ;)

Rainbow - you and your dances and magnificent calculations... ;) I knew that, from my last period, it should have been the 14th (which it is) but I thought that the doc would make it more accurate and go instead on the day of ovulation, which she pretty much guaranteed would be the day after I had my first meeting with her, where she ultrasounded my ovaries and saw that egg there about to pop out.... so that would have made it the 9th... but nah, she says that according to beanie's size, it looks like it's more the 14th. Hmm.. I'm willing to bet I'll be earlier than that!

So, did some silly little gender predictor tests online today (when am I EVER going to do anything productive while all this is going on?!?!) and they ALLLL say I'm having a boy! JEEPERS! Now a part of me is expecting it to be a girl, because everything says otherwise... but that's why I first thought it would be a boy! GAH! I'm mental. :)

FOOOOD - I've been eating like a maniac. What the hell happened? BUT I MANAGED TO COOK A DECENT DINNER! I didn't feel bad at all!
Breakfast
- Oatmeal cooked in milk, with dried cranberries, and a skim milk ovaltine (YUM!)
Lunch
- Small green salad, small tomato soup, small bowl creamy pasta
Snacks (bad! why didn't I have lovely fruit? oh well... tomorrow. Sorry Beanie)
- 75g packet of corn chips
- little tub chocolate ice-cream
Dinner
- Bengali wedding rice (saffron and spiced rice with lots of nuts and some dried fruit), with beef kofta balls in a tomato ginger sauce (with a little cream), and spiced peas. YUM!!!

My man and I had a gorgeous dinner on the balcony with my lovely flowers, in the dark, with lots of candles. It will probably be the last chance to have a balcony dinner before it starts to get too cold. Ah, geez I'm happy. :)

AHeya hun (and Beanie boy)

You do sound happy and i love it!!! Your diary is great to read. So full of utter joy :)

Your food is just too bloody scrummy too. I think you are gonna have to pre-warn us mere dieters (whoops, sorry.....healthy eaters) when you are gonna eat such scrummy stuff. Maybe you should put a rating on it, like they do on films lol, depending on how moutwatering it is lol. keep posting it though, i ain't complaining really!!!
Oooh, and i am so pleased you are feeling better and can eat normally now. Totally jealous. I was about 7 and a half months gone before i could eat without worrying if i was gonna keep it down.
