Looking to lose an extra human I apparently picked up along the way

Hmmm. This no alcohol is obviously working......hmmmm. Awesome Vee! I admire your self-control & determination!

Glad no booze is treating you well. I hope these last few scream off of you!

Great job at getting below 170. Closer and closer to your ultimate goal. I've said it many times before as have others and you're probably sick of hearing it, but you sir are amazing! :D

Thanks Mandy,

169.5 yesterday, 169 today. Really didn't do very well on food yesterday, but I'm thinking the total calories wound up not being too bad, and also that Monday's workout (I basically nuked my lats and biceps) made me subconsciously want to eat just about everything in sight yesterday. Oddly I demonstrated more willpower on a day where I eventually ate more than I should than on many "perfect" days.

Still sore from Monday's new workout regimen. So I just worked right through it for today's workout (different muscle group, but still). The body fat monitor responded quite positively this morning so we'll stick with this and see how it goes.

Weather has cooled down a bit this week, so I'm getting some good walks in.

168.5 today, was 169.5 yesterday. Eight straight days below 170 now.

Took my suit in today to get altered for my trip. Bought it last year around this time, and looking it up on May 8th of last year I was 191.5. So that's a full 23 pounds from this morning's weight. Both the coat and especially the pants are being taken in.

A cool front has blow in and the rain that comes with those sorts of weather shifts seems to have blown through now. Tomorrow and Sunday should have wonderful weather and then it looks like if the weather guy is right, next week will be pretty good as well. But going further out it looks like our first day in the trips (triple digit temperature) would be two weeks from today. Gonna try and get out and enjoy this as much as I can this week.

169 this morning. Got in a basketball game today, but the gym was absolutely packed and our team lost and so it would likely be another hour before I got another game. So I gave up on basketball and went and did sprint intervals on the treadmill. Again, running on the treadmill at 14 MPH is the sort of thing that keeps your attention, even if you only do it for 30 seconds. Since the weather's so nice, I'll try and get a walk in before tonight's White Sox game.

For my family, Mother's Day has been postponed until next Sunday. My parents' poker club has been hit with some sort of infectious disease and my dad got it and so now he's under quarantine (if my Mom avoids getting it, will be a miracle). So needless to say I'm not going over there tomorrow. Nothing life threatening or anything, but just something we'll have to wait out. Going to call later and see how they're both doing.

I think I'd poop my pants running that fast on the treadmill, cause knowing me I would face plant!
Hoping your dad feels better and that your mom doesn't get it!!

Great job man! I admire your determination! Have gone through your complete journey, from 375 to all the way down to 169. Though it took your years but still only very very few people can achieve such great results. Amazing!

Good luck for your next milestone!

Woooohooooo for the 160's! Absolutely incredible job on your journey and only continues to get better. That sucks to hear, I hope your parents get to feeling better.

Thanks everyone. The one pound a week rate would now put me at 161 on July 3.

168.5 again today. The good news is my handheld body fat monitor had me at 15.3%. So the weight is tied for the new low, and the body fat% is in fact the new low on that reading. A great combo. Now that handheld is notoriously unreliable.

The bad news, a bad copy formula on my spreadsheet gave me an "incorrect" estimate on my weekly linear weight loss slope (it was calculating it all the way back to mid-march instead of just the last 30 days. The new slope of weekly losses is -0.8 a week, which is below a pound a week. So I'm going to slightly cut back my calories a bit (just a bit, maybe by 150 calories a day).

I realize this seems like fine tuning, but frankly that's where I'm at right now. Taking 50 calories off of breakfast, lunch, and dinner and leaving the rest the same doesn't seem like too much of a hurdle. I may even be able to take them all off of breakfast and lunch and leave dinner as is.

Dad is feeling better and thus far my mom has not gotten sick. Apparently 60 people or so in their adult community have contracted this thing.

To be at the stage where you can fine tune V is something to celebrate. Well done. Glad your Dad is feeling better & also that your Mum didn't get it!

And Happy Mother's Day to you Cate! Though I'm not sure they do Mother's Day there, not sure they do it on the same day, and even if they do I think it's now tomorrow there. But Happy Mother's Day all the same!

About ready to leave for the workout, but a quick checkin:

168 this morning, and that's a new low by half a pound. Still 15.4% on the body fat monitor so that's good too.

New calorie apportionment (breakfast, post-workout snack, lunch, snack, dinner, dessert): 375, 100, 375, 85, 800, 140 + fish oil = 1910 calories.

I'm a scanner more than a reader, so I was confused when I saw your weight progress of 375, 100, 375, 85, 800.... I decided to actually read it when I got to "fish oil"... ADHD is a pain.

Keep up the good work!

Yes, well the scale readings from day to day _can_ vary...

168.5 this morning, 15.3% on the monitor.

Yesterday's new calorie allotment went fine. Just a minor bit of stomach growling in the evening but that should subside. This is not a permanent thing, so eight weeks of this should not really be any sort of physiological problem. If, for some reason, I go nutzoid on exercise on a day (like an extended basketball session), the plan is to eat a few of those calories back on that day. I absolutely do not want to strip any more lean body mass off me than is necessary.
