Looking to lose an extra human I apparently picked up along the way

Nice recovery on the weight... sounds like a water issue settling out.
An "oil change" for you... that would have explained the machine-like way you've lost weight! (see what I did there?)

Great job on the continued efforts, MrVee.

You are doing so amazingly well! You are down to 275!! That was my start weight - and I only went down less than 20lbs..
your "crazy" hard workouts are totally paying off!!!

275.5 this morning. Body fat monitor seems to be indicating good things though with a 35.1% body fat reading, the lowest so far in both body fat and in total pounds of fat. Model has my predicted weight at 274.7.

Nearly fell down a flight of stairs yesterday due to my legs not working very well, and my arm was very sore when I used an ATM. I think I need a day off from exercising.

Hey MrVee,

What pace did you set your weight loss model? I've been able to keep my weight loss date and goal weight to the same, and continue to strive to meet that.

I guess my real question is, why that date and that goal weight? Out of curiosity.

laureelee,

The start of this comes from here:

I started off using that to give myself an idea of how many calories to consume and what kind of expectations for weight loss I should have. After a while I decided I wanted something a little more customizable to my actual observed weigh-ins, and so I took that model and determined the shape of the curve of that model.

From there, I used that exponential curve and fit it into my own data so that the curve tended to be shaped the same way, but would be either steeper or shallower depending on my weigh ins. Every time a new weigh in comes in, the curve shifts slightly to reflect the new number. Obviously as more time goes on and I lose more weight, the curve has me lose fewer and fewer pounds per week.

All of this gives me a general weight loss trend and a decent idea of how much weight I will lose in the future at the current pace. Today is day 264 of my experiment. Feeding 264 into the formula gives a result of '274.7'. June 16 is day 350. Feeding '350' into the formula gives a result of '249.7'. March 22, 2014 (a year from today) would be day 629, and feeding '629' into the formula gives a result of '186.4'.

Here is the chart. The red lines are my actual day to day weight totals, the blue line is the model curve:

And yes, this is the sort of thing I do for a living. :D

Oh way too technical for my brain soooo early in the morning!! All I get from this is you are kicking butt with your weight loss :)

And agree, maybe you should have a rest day for those muscles to chillax a bit Mr Vee!

274.5 this morning.

Gonna take the day off of workouts and get some housework done. Trying to get my body rested and healed up a bit so that it doesn't break down.

Be sure not to over do it!

I love all of your graphs and stuff. Being as mathematical and analytical as I am, I have been meaning to try to built some kind of prediction program as well. I just haven't had time. :D

Just catching up with things around here after a long absence and your work situation caught my eye ... if there is stuff you can give away to make more time for exercise etc, but not enough for an employee, why not a "Virtual Assistant"? I do that sort of work, and occasionally hired people too, so I can confidently say that you can find people who are competent and reliable and happy to pick up a few hours per week :) - for regular work, "people per hour" is pretty good, you might even find someone pretty close by if you need to exchange physical documents. For one-off stuff "fiver.com" is brilliant (like having just one leaflet designed). If you don't need to exchange physical documents, you could also hire someone say in the UK, and have much of your work done over night!

Oh, and congrats on the weight loss, good going! You do look much happier!

Always a genius idea to listen to your body! Hope you feel well-rested and ready to get back at it again soon!

275 as we start a new week.

Personal training this afternoon and I think the rest on Friday and Sunday and the lightish workout on Saturday has done me some good. I also have tomorrow off and will do a light workout on Wednesday before training sessions on Thursday and Friday.

At some point this week will need to go through the bags in my closet and see how much of my old clothes are decent enough to be worth money at a second hand shop. I know I have a few shirts that are probably good. The rest needs to be pitched, either in the garbage or to Goodwill. The jacket from a few pages back will have to wait until Late August or early September as they won't take it until then.

I may move to a nicer place when my lease is up, and for once I'd like to not have to move things I have no intention of keeping.

Funny you should mention the clothes thing. I spent an hour going through my shirts this weekend and found a dozen shirts that I'd outgrown that fit again, and another dozen that are 20 lbs away from fitting. They may not be stylish, but at my age, who cares? sadly my favorite 2 shirts in the world are now starting to look tent-ish on me.

I really love the idea of finding a trainer like you did... maybe someday.

It's very liberating getting rid of stuff you don't want to ever need again. Giving away your bigger clothes is saying you will NEVER need them again. Moving to a nicer place also sounds like a very positive step for you, Mr Vee. I hope that you do. You're going along nicely with your weight-loss. Next photo we may get a big smile. :D Cheers, Cate

Have a dentist appointment on April fools' day (not sure going to the dentist on April fools day is a great idea) to get some work done on the teeth. They're in reasonably good structural shape, but could use some prettying up.

But in terms of a big toothy smile, I actually don't know how to do it on command without looking weird. My left eye squints and it looks ridiculously unnatural.

Me have weird problems.

Good luck at the dentist. And I don't know anyone except the very vain who can smile on command and it actually look natural. :p

... some "other" famous smiles... ;) .. .( think you will be just fine )....
