Looking to lose an extra human I apparently picked up along the way

Broke down today and bought one of those handheld bodyfat% monitors, even know I've read everything about how they don't work real well. In any event, I think it mostly has it "bang on." Lower than you'd expect given my height and weight, but still obviously way too high. 37.7%.

I also heard they aren't terribly accurate but it will atleast show you the trend of where your body fat percentage is going!

Just stopped by and ready your progress - AMAZING! You have done incredibly well. I hope to stay focused like you have!

Keep it up - you gonna reach your goal in no time!

Hey MrVee..you should look at what you achieved so far! Because you are doing insanely well!! & it's only getting better. You are so dedicated. Granted, it is still too high -but it's going down!

No weigh in today (didn't have time to do it when I first woke up, and don't like to do it at other times) but tomorrow is challenge day so we will see how that goes.

Going to try and be extra convivial on here for a while: 1) because I'd rather this place be a happy, happy, joy, joy place rather than it being "this week in MrVee's tragicomic dysfunctions" and 2) because I also wanted to use the word 'convivial' in this post.

Just back from basketball at the gym. A little sluggish out there today, but I got the workout in regardless. I have to step it up if I want a future in the NBA though!

aawww..... I like the tragicomedy....

glad to hear U are stillin'' the runnin for NBA.... we need some "personality" in that group ....

did U hear our Canadian hockey dudes are back at it again?..... ( caught the Edm.Oilers / Vancouver Canuks game in a pub-bar in Vancouver on Sun.nite - risked my life...I was cheering for the Edm. team in a Vancouver bar... not too bright eh?)...

Good luck with Challenge day tomorrow....

292.5 this morning (well it's more like 292.7, but I'll give myself a little).

Back from the workout. Have a weakness in my quadriceps that my trainer thinks comes from not really bending my legs because of my weight. I dunno. I suppose I could go have an MRI, but I don't want to have to pay for it. They don't feel like they're torn, they just aren't as strong as the rest of my legs.

Oh no, maybe give them a rest for a bit? Work on some other muscles?

It doesn't like feel I've hurt them, it's been like that since I started. I have not been able to do the elliptical from day one, and that still hasn't changed. My quads just burn like you wouldn't believe when I try.

The idea was that since I've been lugging around all this weight, my legs should have been fairly strong (both my first trainer, and this one said as much). And my calves and hamstrings do actually seem to be. But my quads have fallen behind for some reason. They don't hurt at all normally, it's just when they're targeted at all with exercise, they can't accomplish much before I have to stop.

Congrat's on a good weigh-in !
View attachment 19758 ...keep on crunching-down those pounds...
...and work-up that quad strength gradually ...it will come...
I know I found my knees really improved with the stepper.... patience grasshopper...

293.5 this morning, 292.3 on the model.

No personal training today, but I do have to do some sort of workout. Basketball probably. Maybe I can get in a game or two at the gym as that would be the best workout.

Looks like rain this weekend, so the mountain hiking thing is out. Will come up with something to do tomorrow. Also have a dinner to go to tomorrow night, but that's really no big deal at this point.

I know you've been doing the work, so being behind your model just means a dramatic drop is around the corner. You'll be in the 280s before you know it.

Yeah and yesterday I was ahead of it. It's just one of those day to day things. I sort of view the model as my "real" weight more than a target weight. If I put a bunch of high weights in a row, the model will change to reflect that.

I feel like it's been of enormous help to me to look at the underlying trends as a way to keep level-headed and stay the course. The model continues to put me at 100 pounds lost at between March 20 and 24 depending on the day. So the underlying trend has been steady for a while now.

I'm going to post the simplest version of it today, and then anyone with a set of weigh ins can use it to see how it works if they like.

Good work on the steady loss dude~ I know it isn't always easy - day by day - sticking to the healthy foods/ and exercise - good dedication sir ....
& yup - the model helps you keep sight of the general trend- & not get too excited on the little "blips" up/down - have faith in your process ..
... bet yu are so looking forward to 100down... what a major accomplishment.... 'bet we'll hear the cheerin' all the way up here in Canuk land this spring ... successful folks like you are such an inspiration - this can be done !

Enjoy the Bask.Ball , or whichever exercise the weekend brings.

In case anyone wanted it, here's the simple version of my weight loss model in an Excel spreadsheet:

Just enter your weights in column C and adjust the date to whatever you need in A2. Read the instructions and it should work for you.

-_- I downloaded a bunch of ads from that webpage.

^_^ but now worth it cause i clicked on the right link.

EDIT: I figured it out for the most part. very interesting indeed. Thank you so much for this tool! One bit of help please, Column B has a bunch of hashtags, what is Pred suppose to be? Anyway to make those hashtags go away and get what I need in that column? Pretty please?!
