Looking to lose an extra human I apparently picked up along the way

Four workouts is very good, not just respectable. Enjoy basketball!!

287.5 this Saturday. And my "muscles horrify the competition."

At 5'10.5", my BMI would dip below 40 at 282 pounds. The target date for that is February 26. The target date for 100 pounds lost (275) is March 21. The projected weight on July 1 is 245.5, that's the one year mark and would be 129.5 pounds lost in the first year if I make it. The projections have me clearing the 30 BMI threshold just before Thanksgiving this year. I mention this only because that 287.5 is actually dead on the money with the model.

Great progress dude! Any self reward plan for when you hit the 100 mark?
None whatsoever. The 100 pounds lost is a reward in and of itself.

When I get down below 200, if the finances allow, I may get myself a new car (and an actual new one this time, not just one that's new to me). Maybe lease it, or maybe not. I can't be pulling into the Trader Joe's parking lot looking like I'm the police. :D

My current car was chosen specifically for size considerations back when I was 375. That's no longer an issue. But I'm not counting any chickens financially. I know I'm going to lose the weight, I don't know if I'll be able to afford to do it.

286.5 on Sunday, my day off from workouts.

In need of hitting the grocery store today, but I don't like grocery shopping on a Sunday. Sort of a sensory overload problem, in that it's just too busy and it tends to annoy me.

A few more days and I think we'll have seen the last of the chilly down here. I'd also like to try and get out of here for a bit this summer, though I haven't made any definite plans. Not just long trips, but maybe day trips up into the mountains where it's a little bit cooler. Basically when the palm trees become pine trees, you've made it.

I completely relate to the shopping on Sundays thing. I can't stand the crowds. I shop weekdays early in the morning to get it overwith. Also, your description of the car fitting you at 375 lbs hits home. I have an Odyssey Van because I have a family of five, but also it's comfortable to me. Someday, my reward will be a sports car again... maybe another convertible.

A start of the new week at 286.5 again.

Personal trainings have been moved to the afternoon this week, and I'll see how I like it. I kind of liked doing the morning thing as the rest of the day was then flexible as to how much I would work and how much I could get other things done. But my trainer's availability kept getting earlier and earlier in the morning and at some point too early is too early. Nevertheless it's goig to take some discipline to not waste time waiting for my workout all day and to get other things done before it.

Okay Mr. Math. Using the moderate monthly cost of food for you and I the price annually amounts to $3,532. If you ate double that when you were gaining your weight, you're now saving $294.40 a month.

Your gas mileage has improved by almost 2% according to the DOE (-100 pounds = -2% gas burned).

You spend nearly the same money on average on gas as you do on the purchase price of a vehicle.

What I'm driving at (pun intended) is that with your decreases weight, decreased food cost, and increase in fuel efficiency combined with the savings of a smaller and more fuel efficient vehicle, the cost of a new car should already be offset.

What's funny is my gas mileage has actually gone down in the last year and a half (from 20 to just above 18). Old car (18 years now) so probably needs a new fuel filter or is just old.

All of the money I'm saving is all just going to fly out the window once I start dating again though. :D

MrVee! You are right on target! You are doing awesome - as always! Oh the discipline!!
I actually prefer working out in the afternoon - and now I m forced to do it in the morning...hahaha!
Oh well it's good to get some variety!

Hope it works well for you going in the afternoons, but I totally understand wanting them in the mornings. If I need to go to the gym or the barn, the only way it gets done is straight from work or straight in the morning. But I also understand the 'too early' part. I am not a morning person!

Haha money is so much more fun to spend on dates than on gas or on the food we feed our extra weight (does that make sense?)

There's all the savings of fitting into regular store clothes as well. I'm looking forward to buying stuff in the sales for a change.

When I was 16, I was a sacker boy at Kroger. I made 3.25 an hour and all I had to spend my money on was girls, gas and guitars.....sigh...good times!

A new low this morning: 285!

Only 10 more pounds to go before 100.

Power was out this morning, so I grabbed a grody breakfast sandwich at the golden arches (at least I can look up how many calories that is and adjust) and went to the gym to shoot some hoops. I really wanted to take today off because yesterday's weight lifting session with the trainer was so strenuous, but I had nothing else to do since the power was out.

Power is now restored and time to get on with the rest of my day. If the weather forecasters are to be believed, this will be the last time the high temperature will be below 60 until next winter. The highs tend to go up two degrees a week on average from here on out until June. The average high on July 4 is 107 degrees.

90lbs!!! holy smokes! Way to go, MrVee!

...and 107 degrees.. again, not laughing.

:D
